This is a nice hotel. It isn’t very big for a full service Marriott but the staff is very friendly and the rooms are very clean and of course the beds are very comfortable. The bar area is small but the service is quite good. Parking is probably the downside and they charge $10.00 a day to park. Honestly, if you are a guest, parking should be free. I travel to Detroit frequently and this will likely be my second choice behind the Marriott in Livonia.

I stayed here after flying into Detroit to mark my father's 81st birthday. Over the years, I've stayed countless times. While an older example of a Marriott, rooms are clean and comfortable. Especially the bedding. The huge TV is great as well. I was proactively upgraded to a suite. Management also allowed my father to check-in before I arrived, which was gracious as my flight ended up arriving 3 hours late. In the end, my dad and I missed having a birthday dinner together. The hotel really made him feel special, however. He also received an in-room amenity that included a very thoughtful bottle of wine. Kudos for putting the capital H in hospitality. The lobby bar/restaurant has a good menu with something for everyone. I always like the caesar salad, either with chicken or salmon. All things considered, I will return when at the Detroit airport. The staff from management to the front desk to the restaurant have always been the kind of people I would hire if I owned a hotel. Hopefully, the much-renovation will be carried out as fresh wallpaper, new carpet, some new furniture and updated fixtures are needed. Owners need to give the staff the excellent product they deserve. I do hope they keep bathtubs in the rooms, as the walk-in showers that other new or newly renovated hotels have are annoying.…

No indication when I booked that the hotel lobby, Hotel restaurant, pool, workout room is all under renovation. The executive lounge is open and the rooms are adequate nothing special. I was told by the front desk staff that I could use the pool to nearby Sheraton which is owned by the same company I got there and they didn't know anything about it It turned into a fiasco and I was not able to use the pool. I did get some Marriott points for my inconvenience. The bar is open limited seating restaurants open and the furniture in there is torn up and old foods tolerable. Shuttle services adequate. They will take you to nearby restaurants but there are not many choices there's one good Italian restaurant in the area and that's it. I checked on the app I'd like to have the room cleaned, never happened...Trash bags and glasses littered the hallways for the two days I was there never collected. …

This hotel is completely overrun by understaffing. As an ex hotel management and almost a day to day hotel business traveler you can see who is obviously failing: Management. Understaffed at the Front desk, answering phone calls and check-ins. Makes the front desk agents overloaded and not be able to perform accordingly, forgetting guest requests. Understaffed at HK - it is impossible for house keeping to keep up with the cleaning and front desk requests: which is the perfect combo for unclean rooms and rushing forgetting about basic amenities. The problem is not the front line employees, it is Management. Hopefully Marriott Detroit airport can go only go up from here.

Westin food was ok,definitely pricey.The waiter couldnt stay focused and I had to wait for one glass of wine.Husein needs to pay more attention to his customers. He is a nice fellow though. More appealing appetizers need to be on the menu.

We stayed at this hotel overnight for a single night so that we could be nearby to the DTW airport. The hotel was very nice especially for an airport hotel in my opinion and I would recommend staying here for sure. They also offer a free shuttle to the airport, which was driven by a very polite and courteous driver.

This hotel is simply a money press for Marriott capturing people staying overnight before a flight out of detroit metro airport. The hotel is dirty, and not taken care of. I’ve stayed here in the past and been disappointed but stay because of the convenience of being near the airport. This time there were broken martini glasses in the hallway and when we were leaving to head to the airport there was vomit on the floor in front of the elevators and the night shift counter guy was sitting in the lobby chair 25 feet from there. He rolled his eyes when we mentioned it on the way out. Absolutely disgusting hotel. Never again.

The Marriott is about a 10 minute shuttle ride from the airport. The shuttle is comfortable and the drivers are friendly. We also found the staff at the front desk and club lounge to be accommodating and friendly. Our room was small, however, it was clean, quiet and the bed was comfortable. The club lounge featured generous snacks during happy hour and a solid breakfast. The Marriott also has complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby in the morning. We will be back the next time we pass through DTW!
