Visited this weekend with 2 couples and 4 kids (ages 10-5). Our Wintergreen condo was clean and updated. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The location was so close to the slopes, the hot tub, the market! We didn’t have to walk far for any activities. Ski school was 10/10! The instructors were so hands on and provided skill appropriate lessons for our little ones. They definitely made progress and are more confident skiers after 2 mornings of ski school. Great place for newbies to explore the sport. The resort is big enough for young skiers to not get bored and also easy to map out and maneuver. This was our second trip and we are planning a return! Also felt like every where at the resort was well staffed and I had nothing but pleasant interactions with staff.…
Best and biggest experience we have had in our four family ski trips. We came in late morning on a Sunday and left late afternoon on a Wednesday. We called ahead on the drive and requested an early check-in, which was given. It didn't appear that the resort was very busy so everything went very smoothly and lines were fairly short. We stayed in The Hamlet and only saw a handful of other families there. Our room was plenty big and served its purpose well as a rest/sleeping area with space for a small blowup mattress on the floor for our fifth person. The location made getting on and off the slopes very convenient as there are lockers outside to store skis and poles and you could ski directly into the locker area. The main lift (Clipper) was 150 feet from the lockers. We rented all our gear so it was a bit pricey but we knew that going in. All food on the resort also hit the pocket book hard. We had pizza from the resort once and ate lunch at The Lodge twice. It was good and convenient but you paid for it. There are a few food options off site and we ate at one twice for dinner. The other happened to be closed that night for a private party. The skiing was very good but we would have liked to have access to more slopes. Only about 1/3 were open the week before Christmas so that was a bummer. There weren't many other activity options open yet so we were on the slopes from open to close with just a lunch break each day. We covered all open slopes many times so more variety would have been great the last two days. We had decided to cut the trip short a day and are glad we did for that reason. I could see advanced skiers getting bored sooner with that limited number of runs.…
We were so excited to get a dog friendly room right at the peak of fall colors! The room is a little dated but very clean. You get passes to take the chairlift the the top of the mountain! Restaurant was good also So………Their was a outside wedding going on right under our window. (yeiks!). I kept on looking at the clock waiting for the music to stop. Pack your earplugs. That being said the charming resort is a friendly walkable experience. The spa was worth the money and gift shops are worth a stop and shop.
So disappointed. The staff were so rude and unhelpful all over the resort. From the pool, to concessions, to the restaurants and shops. Food was poor quality and very overpriced. And attractions were not open as advertised. Ski instructors were very friendly and friendly though.
We stayed here as part of my husbands work retreat. We stayed in a Wintergreen 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo. Everything was included; linens, soap, dishes, bakeware and cookware, utensils etc. We had breakfast at the wild tomato and the buffet was unsurpassed by anything I've experienced at a hotel before. I really enjoyed the fact the whole resort felt like a small village. The shop was a bit pricey but manageable.
everything was perfect, staff super friendly and so helpful. The condos are amazing, the beds were so comfy and relaxing, felt like I was home. It is so beautiful at Crystal Mountain, the landscaping and fun things to do was awesome. Real cool water park and pool if you have children. I will be going back but for a family vacation
Very disappointed. The grounds and facilities were very nice. We stayed 4 days for a work conference. Upon check we were told if we need housekeep services, just to call and request. After the second day we make the request to be told, no housekeeping services would be provided during our stay. At that time (8 am) we requested fresh towels. Upon return the evening after dinner the towels still had not be exchanged. We tried calling the front desk multiple times over a couple of hours for with questions about locations on property, and only could reach a voicemail without a return call. The rooms are spacious, but the beds are in need of new mattresses. Our mattress had a significant dip. We ate at the Thistle twice. Both time the food was very good, but took over 90 minutes to get our sandwiches. The server was very nice, but both experiences were painfully long. The conference facilities were very nice and comfortable. The food provided for the meeting were also very good.…
Stayed at Inn at the Mountain. Very nice hotel. The whole resort was beautiful and staff was friendly and helpful. Pool looked like it was a blast for kids. We went on the Alpine slide. The view was fantastic! The slide not as much fun as I had anticipated, but still a adventure. I recommend this place in the summer, not too far to many other fun places.
This is I believe was our 8th beer and brat festival and by far the smallest as far as how many breweries were there (like 1/2 as many as before). Maybe they were keeping it small because of Covid still looming? This is the first year we did not buy VIP tickets because they keep increasing the cost. We'll go back just because its a nice kick off to summer but raising prices and having fewer breweries was a disappointment.
Just came back from a family Ski trip to Crystal Mountain. This resort has a lot going for it including a very helpful and friendly staff. I did have one issue that threatened to ruin my ski trip. Two magic carpets are advertised as fully operational, but due to staffing shortages the smaller one wasn't operational except during ski school (hours vary and that wasn't listed on the site). I have 3 small children who were just learning to ski and they weren't ready for the bigger hill. Try explaining to small child that the incline is the same... However when I brought up my issue to the staff (shout outs to Kyle, Amanda, and Jessica Kelly) they were very helpful and understanding. I really appreciated the extra mile they went to listening to me, because I was really quite upset. In short they turned my experience around and I left wanting to come back to Crystal mountain. Additionally we had a great ski lesson with Andy, and the restaurants were very good. The only downside outside of the magic carpet issue were the beds (super uncomfortable). We had a mountaintop townhouse with 3 bedrooms and all the beds were horrible. But all in all the friendly staff and made up for the beds, and I think I will be back.…
