So I’m a part of a band and we ALWAYS get in late to our hotels! Well this particular night I was NOT having a good night but when I got to this establishment I was greeted by Cody. He came up to the desk with a smile and such positive vibes he changed my entire mood INSTANTLY!!!! Cody was such a big help even tho it was late he treated us as if it were early morning during prime business. THANK YOU CODY!!!!!!!!
I will start with the two positives. First, the lobby is inviting and second the front desk supervisor on second shift upon check in was very nice. Now the honest facts on the hotel. The hotel is dirty, disgusting, unkept and unclean. I couldn’t believe as a lifetime platinum this hotel was so unkept. Stains on carpet very dirty, stains on rug, stains on towels, pet dander and long hairs in the both tub/shower on the wall and tub. It was so disgusting we didn’t let our kid shower before checking and leaving the hotel. Don’t be fooled by the lobby, the hotel is absolutely below a Marriott standard! This was more like a Hojo or knights inn quality. Oh… it was also $350. Yep…. Disgusting!! We literally went to lobby, had coffee and picked the hairs off our cloths from sitting on the comforter before leaving the room. I’m allergic to pet dander so it made for a miserable day.…
After seeing so many reviews about how clean this property was, I was pretty surprised when we checked into our room. Went to put some bottles of water in the fridge and there was a Hot Pockets in there from a previous guest. As soon as I sat down on the ottoman, I spotted a piece of candy near the foot of the bed. The bathroom was the worst. There was pink mold/mildew all around the inside of the shower. The toilet had a disgusting stain in the bottom and scum around the water line. While most hotels are offering disinfectant wipes in the room, 2 packets of hand sanitizer were offered here. Our room was located on the backside of the property which offered a nice view of trees. It was very quiet except for the partiers out back until 2:30am! Mattress was very hard. Wifi here isn’t the best either. Not steady so I finally gave up on that! Stopped at the Marketplace to get a snack one night and it was practically empty. It was even worse when we checked out. I will say that the associates at the front desk when checking in and out were both very nice. I also understand that EVERYONE is having a hard time finding people to work, but cleanliness should be a priority.…
Traveling to Macinac Island from Shelby, MI and used Traverse City as a halfway point. Good plan,, nice hotel, good shopping nearbyl. Everything worked! Keys, room temperature, bed comfortable, quiet hallways! The shower was grwat- good pressure and temperarure.
I stayed over at the Courtyard Marriott a half-dozen times over the past 6 months, most recently on Oct 18th. The desk staff is consistently superlative and general manager Bryan Moore runs a terrific operation. The receptionists always greet people as they enter the Lobby and work to place you in a room, considering your own preferences. The last gal knew I'd like a quiet area and I ended up at the end of the hall, overlooking my vehicle down below. Rooms are always spotless and the housekeeping staff keeps the entire facility bright and shining! They're always willing to provide extra conditioner for my hair, or anything else I might need. The sheets are great and towels large and plentiful! I love the place!
We have stayed here several times and I have to agree with a recent review, that they were not as good about the COVID precautions. They were friendly, and wearing masks, but the hotel seemed a little less clean which is a big deal in this era. The room was quiet and very good for sleep! The coffee makers in the room suck! Get the kurig's already will you! I know you have a Starbucks in the hotel, and that is nice, but not everyone wants to go out of their room for coffee, and Starbucks is too strong for us traditional geezers! Otherwise, this is still my favorite in the TC area of over priced hotels.
Very disappointed in the lack of signage and enforcement of masks and social distancing at this property. This was our first hotel experience since Corona started and I purposely chose a Marriott expecting clear leadership and enforcement. While there were signs at the front door and the front desk staff wore a mask, there were zero signs in the cafe or inside the rooms or in the hallway telling guests masks are required or reminding of social distancing. No signage in the elevators. We had people pack in the elevator with us rather than wait for the next one. Cleaning person cleaned the lobby with mask below her chin. I will not stay in a Marriott again until there is a vaccine. This was horrible and I felt unsafe. I've been emailing them for a month and had no response.
Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel is only a few miles from downtown and the lake. It is also a quick15-25 minute drive to several wineries. Hotel was nice enough to honor mobile chat request for first rooms. Rooms were updated and the beds comfortable. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Due to Covid there was no daily housekeeping, which wasn't any issues as they were able to help swap out towels or provide extra amenities. We did have a room facing the road but there wasn't any noise that kept us up. The Bistro was open with a limited menu for breakfast only. Even with a limited menu they had several options from pasties/bagels to hot egg options. The only thing to be aware of it was impossible to get an Uber/Lyft the weekend we were there. The hotel had 2 taxi companies they recommended but those were a two hour wait.…
So, let me start by saying that I posted a review directly on their website with no success as they removed it. Please stay away!! From the outside this hotel checks all the marks. Once inside you will encounter maskless employees who have no problem joining you in the elevator. Despite calling the Marriott headquarters 3 times the concern was never addressed during my stay. Now from reading previous reviews I see this is the normal for this hotel, despite our state of Michigan being under a mask mandate. Upon my check Out I noticed housekeeping on floor 5 with no masks. Meaning the rooms they provide are not sanitary. Oh, and if you plan on getting sleep, let’s just say their old AC will keep you up all night. The best part of this stay...walking out their door a final time. Please do yourself a favor, stay away! They charge pretty high rates and you could go elsewhere.…
While staying in Traverse City for a wedding this past Friday and Saturday (6/26-6/27) I was surprised to see that at no point in our two day stay did I see a front desk employee wearing a mask. Not one. We wore masks, they did not. There was a clear panel about 18" wide hanging in front of where the employees stood checking you in, but that left plenty of air space for the COVID-19 virus to float around. After the first night, we came back in the afternoon to find that our room had not been cleaned. We asked at the front desk, and they (masklessly ;-) ) informed us that "we only clean the rooms every third day now--it's a COVID thing. If you want fresh towels you have to come down here and get them." Okay...that may well be the case for all hotels now, I don't know, as we are avoiding hotels when we can, and that's fine if limiting the cleaning days cuts down on virus transmission. But the irony of "it's a COVID thing" explained by a front desk employee who is speaking to me without a mask, who will then breathe directly on the towels that I have to go get myself because "it's a COVID thing" and they can't deliver them to the rooms...well, that's some irony right there. My husband saw a housekeeper walking down the hall with her mask below her chin. Okay. Before leaving, I did stop by the front desk one day and politely asked the women there about this. I said "I've heard the staff mention "it's a COVID thing" several times, but I'm wondering...why don't any of you wear masks?" She looked sheepish and said "oh, right, I know, we should." I asked whether management supplied them with masks, and she said no they don't, "they kind of leave the choice up to us." (!) I told her that in my work, I have to wear a mask, and that in grocery stores and salons, etc, every last employee I'm seeing now is wearing a mask, and that it's pretty surprising that they are not required to do so. Other comments: rock hard beds, the screen didn't fully cover the window and we had to stuff washcloths in the gap to keep bugs out, the mattress cover was ripped and kept coming off the bed in the corners, the $300/night did not include so much as coffee in the morning--the coffee on offer in the lobby was good, Starbucks, but you had to pay for it. But all of that was minor compared to the lack of masks. We try to stay in Marriott when we can, but this particular Marriott site was unusual in its low quality and lack of concern for guests' health and safety. Avoid this hotel, if you can.…
