This hotel is amazing and so clean! Staff were so nice! Loved that breakfast is open later on the weekends! They had no problem getting us checked in at 1-2 in the morning. The room was super clean, my kids enjoyed the pool. Hot tub was nice as well.
So, I do think cleanliness in a hotel is a top priority. And I also think that finding a decent place to stay for a decent price in Traverse City is challenging for some reason (been coming here 30 years). But, I will say, this wasn't my favorite stay. The building is old -- that can't be helped. But because of its design, you walk a LOT!!! It's a giant square with a pool in the middle and in order to access the elevator, you walk ALL the way around the huge square to the back and then I had to walk all the way back around the square on the 2nd floor to get to my room. Not a big deal until you add heavy luggage. And whatever fragrance is used in the hallways is so strong that my walks were miserable. Add to that, a room with a window that doesn't open, let's just say I opted out of a second night and drove north to a little motel instead. It's pricey. It's location is decent. It was clean! But, I won't be staying again.…
My two boys and I stayed at this hotel for a wrestling meet. They had a great time in a large clean pool. We were able to fill up our bellies with a continental breakfast that had many options including hot food.
We stayed on a Thursday night. Just under $100. The room was small and the bathroom was not up to par, broken and missing tile. The shower was a walk in and water was all over the floor when done showering. Small bed for a queen. This was a handicap room but I did not need a handicap room. Breakfast was good and lots of variety. French toast was dry. Parking was typical. Lobby looked nice. Check in was good. No extra charges. Overall not the best I have stayed in while in Traverse City.
Due to “Covid” restrictions, room cleaning services not provided until at least three days stay. We were instructed to put dirty linens and full wastebasket bags in hallway. Breakfast is decent and pool facilities are enjoyable.
The "Free" breakfast is bland and very simple, very limited choice. Same as $50 motels breakfast. Also, for a $200+ room (off season), i'd expect at least a bottle of water in the room and a smart TV. Staff was nice and helpful.
The staff was very friendly and the rooms are nice and quiet, I had to stay there a few months to work in TC, they were very accommodating, I got the same room every time I came back. Could not of been happier,
The hotel is well away from the lake, in the middle of some parking lots, so it's all parking lots, all the time. Our King room was small and cramped with a very awkward door entryway. We only had one comfy chair for the two of us. Floor was not clean. The staff is overworked and grouchy. The clientele was old and clueless (can't figure out how to use toaster, didn't read directions on making waffles, so made a burned sticky mess). We were able to walk to a nearby restaurant, which was somewhat of a redeeming feature. Oh, and this place is overpriced as well. Once we checked in and I found myself disappointed, I researched other places to stay in Traverse City and they were all less costly and had better views. The room DID have a fridge and a microwave, so it DID meet our needs. At least there's that.…
I have never been to prison, but the check in experience here is likely very similar to an inmate’s first day in prison. All guests are guilty until proven innocent. Do not feel welcome at all, but they are happy to over charge for a stay in a worn down hotel.
Very nice place. Beds were comfortable, breakfast was good although I wish they had muffins, and staff very friendly. Location was easy biking distance from downtown. I’d definitely stay here again. Great!
