As we approached the front desk there was a couple of friendly faces smiling at us while greeting us. This is always a plus and a pleasant experience to travelers. The entrance was clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast was also a welcoming site. There were many hot and cold options. It was large enough to accommodate many guests without feeling crowded. Check in was easy as was checkout. They are flexible as well on early check in or an extended stay, checkout. We recommend this hotel.

My spouse and I were visiting Traverse City over a weekend in May 2021 and had the pleasure of spending a Saturday night at this Fairfield Inn. Our check-in process was smooth and easy, and we were able to check in at the earlier time that I'd requested to check in when I booked the room. That was nice.

Our room (#301) was clean and comfortable, and I appreciated the fact that they honored our request to be on the top floor... away from the elevator.

I appreciated the fact that this hotel has a business computer computer with the right Internet browser (Google Chrome) for my needs. I was able to use the computer a bit to do some web surfing and catching up on my social media while I was there, which was much appreciated.

We did not have breakfast here (we chose to eat breakfast elsewhere) but saw that the hotel staff were offering some kind of to-go breakfast bags during the COVID pandemic.

Altogether our stay was quite pleasant. It's a bit of an older property and we were bummed that the indoor hot tub was not available, but sometimes that happens during the pandemic. Perhaps, though, they could have allowed guests to reserve the indoor pool/hot tub at a specific time which meant that the hot tub could have been open for guests to use.

In general, I would have no qualms about staying here again when I'm in the Traverse City area again... maybe after the pandemic when breakfast is back to normal and the indoor hot tub can be open again. Thanks for a good stay!

This was a typical Fairfield Inn. Same setup with the same amenities, but the real difference was the exceptional employees! We stayed for 3 nights and though there was no daily housekeeping any request we had for towels, washcloths, etc. were meant with courtesy and with efficiency, along with suggestions of places to visit and things to do. I can't express enough how friendly and helpful all the employees we encountered were! For this reason we would definitely choose this Fairfield Inn again.

The staff here is friendly and helpful, but the facility needs to be updated. Our room was small and the mattress was uncomfortable. Our air conditioning unit fan ran continuously even when we tried to set it to cycle off and on. When we complained, the staff on-site staff responded and tried to help but they and we were told that the units weren’t designed to cycle. The second night we just turned the AC off but it had been covering up the noise from the in room refrigerator. The vibration noise was so loud we finally had to unplug the refrigerator.

We tried to use the laundry facility at the hotel but no water available there so we had to go to a local laundromat. Our room was not serviced during our two night stay.

We asked for a partial refund because of our dissatisfaction but were told that was not possible even though Fairfield has a “simple promise guarantee“ to make things right. They did give some extra points on my Marriott account but the points are somewhat meaningless when the hotel is this unacceptable.

Again, the staff was friendly and responsive but this hotel is far below the standard we expect from Fairfield. My recommendation is to avoid,.

We stayed here for a week of vacation and it was a pleasant stay. The staff is friendly, the breakfast is the typical free buffet and the attendant was helpful. They did have a gluten free muffin if you asked. The room, while not modern, was in good condition, plenty of hot water and water pressure in the shower. We like having the extra space that a Fairfield Inn provides in the room. Our room was in the back of the hotel and was quiet, backing up to some woods.

This hotel was very clean and updated. The staff was a little ehh but they have a little area where you can purchase food and snacks. Breakfast was kinda lacking but we opted to go to a place downtown anyway. Pool is RIGHT next to the elevator so it can be very slippery at times. Rooms are nice and beds are comfortable. Pretty good location.

The Fairfield is tucked back away from US-31 south of town so it has less road noise than a lot of the hotels east of downtown. Very convenient if you are going up the Leelanau peninsula because you can avoid the horrendous traffic downtown. Continue to look at room rates for this hotel after you book because they raise & lower rates based on their occupancy levels. Floors are creaky and thin, felt like ours was going to cave in when you walked across it. Also, sounded like a herd of bison in room above us. Definitely would have lowered the rating of this hotel if not for current pandemic situation, stayed two nights and they never cleaned our room. May try again.

Barely 1 star. Prices are comparable to downtown san Francisco or NYC hotels, $375+, but amenities, services are below mark. The hotel does not recognize titanium members, nor do they offer upgrades, nor do they even acknowledge if it is not available. All in all, disappointing experience as the titanium elite member. Thank goodness we are checking out tomorrow morning! Let's see if the hotel GM even bothers to respond...
I don't want to post pics of stained bath tub because I don't want my friends to know that I stayed there

Very nice hotel on the outskirts of Traverse City. A little hard to find and access off a busy highway but once you find it, you will be happy. Clean rooms that are quiet and very comfortable. Staff is friendly but not situated at the reception desk often, instead sitting in the back room behind it. Room was well appointed and large with microwave and fridge.

Fairfield Inn is technically in Traverse City but it’s truly on the outskirts. Makes it easy to drive where you want to be and not feel like you’re stuck in the crowd of downtown. Good breakfast, clean rooms and a quiet setting check all the boxes that you would want for a place to stay.

The Cracker Barrel is within walking and is on a private drive/road to the hotel but the main road is very busy with many lanes of traffic, not suitable for walking.

Correct, it is 10-15 minutes from downtown Traverse City but fairly close to the airport and very close to the largest shopping center in TC.
