This hotel is old and very poorly maintained. There was garbage in the main hallway our entire stay. Breakfast is an absolute joke. We had to switch rooms 3 times, one due to maintenance, one do to horrible odor. Settled on third, less then adequate room because we were tired of hauling luggage arond.

I have never left a hotel review, but this was one of the worst comfort suites I have ever experienced, so I must. Especially due to the fact that we paid comfort suites prices and it was so below standard. Pro list is short. Beds are comfy and clean and towels were soft and clean. Staff was friendly. It ends there. A vacuum hasn't been run in a long time. In rooms or halls. Toenail clippings on the floor amidst many other remnants of other people. Our bedside table drawer was full of crumbs, so we didn't even open any of the dresser drawers. Wallpaper is peeling off the walls and the walls are covered in spills that can easily be wiped off. Our room was a suite with 2 beds and a pull out couch, but only one small tv and only half of the channels that showed up worked. Our freezer was so full of ice that the freezer door had broken off. Breakfast was minimal. Coffee, milk and cereal. Eggs and sausage one day, but nothing the next day. No juice, tea or water. The bagels and breads were sitting in a clear drawer and had been there awhile. Not fresh. Activia yogurt was a pleasant surprise. Bananas were brown, really brown and the same ones were in the bowl every morning. I didn't feel comfortable eating anything that was not packaged after seeing the unclean state of everything else. Every corner and crevise of this hotel needed vacuuming. We had plenty of up front parking which was nice. I imagine it's because very few rooms had people in them. After seeing how dirty and rundown things were I might know why. We were there 3 days and never saw or heard a vacuum when we went by the cleaning cart. I feel we were too trusting in the Comfort Suites name. The water with lemons in the lobby was the only thing that made it remotely seem like the hotel we are used to and who knows how long that's been sitting there. I feel bad being so negative, but I hope this helps someone else to not be surprised by their stay.

The bed is comfortable enough, which is unusual these days, most places being slabs. The bathroom was clean, with some paper peeling. The room was well-cleaned over all. There's peeling wallpaper all over, the desk chair is torn, there's signs of mold, though no smell so they may be spraying it. The breakfast was cold with congealed grease so I didn't risk eating it, and there's no beverages other than coffee or milk.

What a bad experience. We were in the area for a funeral and were not allowed to check in early, even though they were far from busy. Most hotels allow an early check-in--not here. We were told that breakfast began at 6:00 a.m., but the front-desk person was wrong; on the weekend it started at 7:00. I begged for an early cup of coffee, and the front-desk person followed me in to be sure I didn't take anything else. In the two hours we were in the breakfast room, not once did anyone check on the food supply (which ran out) or cleaning tables (which were filthy). My nephew & his wife were going to stay a second night, but the staff couldn't help them--they told them they had to book online. Never heard of such a thing! Instead, they stayed across the street at the Holiday Inn. For an extra $10/night, the breakfast room was available around the clock with coffee and tea. We were able to visit there with no problem well into the evening. They also enjoyed a full, hot breakfast at the Holiday Inn. What did we get? NO hot breakfast. The staff said the person for making breakfast didn't show up. In addition, our rooms were not cleaned. No one told us this at check in. At check out, we were told it's their policy to only clean every 3 days. That's pure greed on the owner's behalf. I've never heard of anyone complaining about housekeeping taking anything during cleanings. Also, as for "recently renovated"? Guess that explains the plastic that had worn off the office chair and the wallpaper coming off the bathroom wall. In the front lobby, the windows were dirty, and the tables were smeared. The furniture in the breakfast room was chipped and dirty. There is NO standard of cleanliness that American culture requires. The staff were polite but could barely speak the English language. If the owners can't adapt to that, they should go elsewhere. I will go out of my way to tell people traveling to the Wixom area to stay away from this hotel.

Do NOT stay here. This hotel is in terrible repair. The black mold on the HVAC unit in my room was horrifying - I only noticed it the last day. The window in my room was completely separated from the inside wall. The window was screwed shut preventing any emergency egress. The ceiling had an end to end crack in it. The wall paper was peeling off the walls. The public areas are not clean. My room was never cleaned in 7 days; no new towels even after asking at the front desk several times. Had I not prepaid this I would have left immediately. Construction started before dawn each day under huge lights - all less that 50 feet from my room.

i was a little leery of staying in the Choice international chain because they are all individually owned and operated. i should have trusted my gut. first time in a number of years and i will NOT stay in this chain again. We arrived late at night and our first impression that was that our room looked nothing like the photos on the website. we could not cancel because we would be charged for the room regardless. We could not get the deadbolt to latch shut, but just used the upper latch that would prevent the door from being opened. we went to bed and in the morning the true extent of the room’s disrepair and dirt was apparent. To put it bluntly- this room never should have been rented. We did not rent it at a discount or through a third party site. we paid rack rate off of the chain’s website. The bathroom was horrible— 1) drywall tape missing from ceiling 2) burnt out light 3) dirty grout/floor 4) some white substance running down back of bathroom door 5) green something on hair dryer handle 6) hairdryer not attached to wall 7) stains, scuff marks, chunks taken out of walls. The room itself— the furniture was worn and had seen better days. i went to the front desk to ask to speak with management at 8 am. No one was at the desk and they did not respond to the bell to alert them. there was a sign to use a hotel phone and press 0 to reach the manager. He said he would be down. we waited and he never appeared. when the front desk person arrived, i asked him to please leave a message for the manager to contact me. Again, it’s been 48 hours and no contact. This room never should have been on the market. Now i know some people will say we should have looked at the room closer or gone to the front desk immediately, but honestly after seeing the breakfast area (which we did not eat), the pool area, the out of use women’s main floor public restroom and the general unkept look of the rest of the public areas i seriously doubt a room change would have made much difference. my advice— stay anywhere but here. they just want to rip off tourists and visitors.

The staff was friendly enough. I changed rooms twice though one on account to being across from the elevator which I requested not to but there was no record of that. The second room the AC wasn't working properly so by the third room I was beyond exhausted (after driving 12 hours). The check in person was friendly enough and I was able to get a room that was "ok" there was a cleaning rag still on the night stand, and the room didn't have a TV remote. But again the check in person was pleasant enough and brought me a tv remote. All the rooms that I saw were terribly outdated and in rough shape. This is not something I associated with the brand of Comfort Suites. This was more like a run down motel. The food was pretty bad and lacking any variety, the staff was short staffed, and the rooms were in disarray. There was no house cleaning, which I understand, but when you're staying several day's you at least hope to have gotten fresh towels. After requesting some on the third day I received two towels. One had long strands of hair on it. For a Comfort Suites I had higher hopes as I've been a member of Choice Hotels for several years and I always held this tier in a higher regards, but a Quality Inn would have been a better choice. Stains on the walls, beat up furniture, the hotel is just in desperate need of a facelift.

Tired property and manager SUCKS! Breakfast is a BAD joke. Go on down the road… I'm a Diamond with Choice Hotels which means that I spend entirely TOO many nights in them – usually 60+ per year. Arrived on business on Sunday June 12 and checked out June 17. I am STILL kicking myself for not leaving Monday morning and moving elsewhere but my week was already booked for business. Anyway...I ask about breakfast Sunday night because they used to have a great one with an employee who really cared - you know, before covid. The nice fellow at the desk said that they had coffee and sweet rolls. What about biscuits and sausage or gravy or something with protein, I asked. "No, just sweet rolls". So I'm thinking SURELY this is a mistake. IT WASN'T! I go down to breakfast the next day and there is coffee and honey bun crap and sweet danish crap laid out. Nothing else. Not even a boiled egg. No biscuits to microwave. No omelets. No Fk'ing toast! I’m not diabetic but many people CAN’T eat this crap. I go to the desk and complain about the breakfast and all the fellow could do is shrug and say that I wasn't alone. I asked for the manager and she wasn't in yet - that's ok, I'll leave a note. I asked for the name of the manager and was told that “I can’t give that out”. Really??? Is it a secret?? So I left a note letting her know my disappointment and to please make sure that there was a better choice the next day – some basic biscuits and sausage to microwave or similar – and noted that the web states “Get a great start to your day with a free hot breakfast including our famous waffles and complimentary WiFi.” Next morning – THE SAME CHIT! I don’t eat sugar bomb crap at home – much less when traveling. Now I’m pissed. I start to leave another note when Jackie arrives. I tell her that I’m the one who left the note and point out how substandard their breakfast is and that I am VERY disappointed that no one cared enough to run to the grocery store or call Cisco to get some better breakfast stuff. She then tells me “We are meeting the MINIMAL ACCEPTABLE REQUIREMENTS and that they don’t have to do anything else.” Yes, that’s a quote! I then said “Whoa!!! I’m sorry but you have this all wrong. I am the customer and I tell YOU what the MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE REQUIREMENTS are!” We then basically had a small peeing match where she informed me that I had a microwave and fridge in my room if I wanted to go buy my own breakfast sandwiches and have them in the morning. She also pointed out a Burger King down the street. I asked “should I have them direct bill the hotel or how does this work because I’m paying for a “free hot breakfast” as noted on the website. It was futile as she simply could not have cared any less. She also pointed out that the pool was not open (didn’t work) and that people were disappointed in that too so what did I want her to do about that, too? I replied that I have my own pool at home so it doesn’t affect me but if you are advertising a pool, then you need to fix the damn pool! I so should have left Monday morning! So Tuesday night I arrive from work, get a sip of cold lemon water at the counter (thank you) and ask the location of the men’s room. The man gives me the key and step inside for a quick relief. It was AWFUL!!! The toilet was completely backed up with a large amount of fecal matter (chit) and smelled horrendous. Gasping and nauseous, I told the man that the restroom was in awful condition and that someone really needed to address it. He said “the cleaning staff will take care of it…in the morning”. So next evening there is a stench that is AWFUL coming from the restroom area. Apparently, instead of cleaning it, they just locked the door. Yes, I’m serious. Sorry folks…you’ve lost me. I’ll stay at another Choice property a few miles away. I see that they have good reviews, seemingly choose to EXCEED the “minimal acceptable requirements”, and I understand they have a great hot breakfast! Robert G - Houston, TX

I’m not sure where to start. The vent in the bathroom had not been cleaned in probably months. There was a urine/vomit stain on the pullout bed’s mattress. A stain on the sheets. Mold on the top of the ice bucket. Bugs and cobwebs near a piece of carpet that had been ripped back near the AC unit. An “unknown” substance on the bedside table between the beds. I attempted to bring this to the attention of the manager and she wouldn’t look at the pictures that I had taken, and walked away. The general manager seemed to not care either and asked if we would like to move rooms. Another family that we travel with had similar problems with a dirty room and was given some cleaner by the housekeeping staff so they could clean it themselves. I would have been appalled if this was my hotel. They didn’t seem to care and wouldn’t offer a refund. Poor poor management. Have a little pride and accountability for your hotel! Pool was closed…they said due to Covid, but it is okay to sit in a large room for “breakfast”??? I also didn’t know that ho-ho’s and twinkies were breakfast food! Only 1 out of 3 ice machines working and they don’t want you using it for coolers. Check out the pictures!WHAT A JOKE!!

My Charity works with the Huron Valley School District Social Workers and we booked this room at the Wixom Comfort Suites for a family in need while they were waiting to move into their new apartment. We were charged $250.00 for alleged stain to the carpet and the fiberglass tub. The case worker was aware juice was spilled on the carpet as she did visits during the families stay and helped them clean the stain. We have attempted contact with Jackie the hotel manager however we are always told she is not available. How can a fiberglass tub possibly be stained? The social worker did have to go advocate for the family as she was receiving no maid service daily which caused a lack of towels. She did manage to borrow a vacuum so the family could clean. The manager Jackie was aware we were renting the suite for the month of January for a family in need and obviously did not want people of their economic misfortune on the property. NEVER stay at the Wixom Comfort Suites or any other Choice franchise lodging facility.
