The staff was friendly enough and wanted to be helpful. The room was clean, the Wi-Fi speed was good. It even was a good central location for things to do in the area. I especially appreciated running a tight ship about no noise after 10 p.m. My big complaint was about the beds that were in the room. They were...

This place is classic Ely. People have been enjoying this area since the early 1900s, and many local motels and resorts were built in the first half of that century so there's a nostalgic feel to the rooms, the building site, the main street location. This is it. Enjoy the nostalgia while still having a clean comfortable room.

Great dog friendly place in Ely. Big open yard in the back for dogs to run and play ball! Nice folks, very clean. We walked through the town many times. Dollar store right next door had lots of things you might need! Quaint, mom and pop place. We would go back!

A stay at the Paddle Inn is a flashback to the small-town motels of the '50s or '60s, and a pleasant one. The motel is older but the rooms clean. The fabulously pink tile bathroom is small but spotless and functional. Plenty of hot water for showers.Towels were a little small and far from plush but did the trick. This...

Stayed at the Paddle Inn on a recent Saturday night while attending the Ely Watercross races. We were pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean and even though the bathroom was a little small, it was super clean and we liked the "retro" look. The bed was firm & comfortable but the pillows were flat, glad we brought our own....

After watching all the information that the news channels give, I am very critical of the rooms that we stay in. I don't want to even sit on the bedspreads. I'm happy to say that this place was very clean and the bedspread looked brand new. We just got home from vacation and we spent about 2 weeks in motels...

First the plusses - very clean, great parking for a canoe trailer, and friendly, helpful owners. One of the really nice things they did was to keep all of our cell phones and tablets for us while we went into the Boundary Waters. Minuses - we had a 2 queen room for 4 adults and it was very crowded. The...

We have stayed here 3 different times and like the location, price and our room is always clean. Our room has all you need. Nice towels, coffee maker, and good shower. We will stay there again. The location is convenient to everything you need. The Northwoods Grocery is next door and has everything you need.

This motel is really only a good idea if you need a staging area for going out or coming in from the BWCA. I stayed two nights and the only thing this place had going for it was that it was clean WHEN I ARRIVED. The room was small, with barely enough room for two people. The refrigerator was not...

With this price, I should not have complained about too much. However, the water was either too cold or too hot in the shower room while the temperature outside was around zero....Also, the bathroom had strong smell><
