Really enjoyed staying at this motel. The facilities were basic but they have been maintained well. The bed and towels were comfortable and clean. The host Eve was so helpful and friendly. Close to beach and bistro. We will stay there again!!
The friendly manner of the staff who showed a real willingness to help us plan our four day stay made this a very positive experience for us. Much more than your usual motel experience.

This accommodation seems to be inconsistent with our other experiences with TripAdvisor. This accommodation is equal to an American Motel 6 or "Budget Inn." The family units may be better. Other seasons may be better, but we wished we had remained in Townsville or flown...More

Hi there, you can park at the ferry terminal or take your car over on the barge. It is better to have a vehicle on the island as the busses generally leave every 25-30 minutes. It is only around $120 to take your car across. We are locals and regularly take our car across if we don't take our boat.

I would agree. If you are in the area it's a nice place to relax for a couple of days. We use it as an entry point to take our boat to John Brewer reef. You can hire jet skis, do some kayaking, take a guided tour of the island, eat out at the art gallery in Horseshoe bay, feed the rock wallabies in Geoffrey bay, or go to the koala bay backpackers and visit the animal park and feed the rainbow Lorakeets. There's another small art gallery in picnic bay. You can look online or I recommend grabbing a guide book once you're in Townsville.
Best of luck on your travel adventures.
