While it is clean and has a secure bike lock up, and yes, a nice front porch, the beds were extremely uncomfortable and the pillows flat. ,Although the room was a good size, the furnishings were very outdated and in need of sprucing up. There is no cute decor in the rooms to match the street appeal. We were in...

Booked last minute and was lucky enough to get the last room. Loved the location for walking and sitting on the front porch watching peeps go by. Bring your bikes for the awesome network of trails; you can store them for free in their shed. The community room for storing food and drinks and for filling up those water bottles...

My wife and I spent night while biking the area and were very pleased with what we found! After spending the previous night across the street, we packed up and moved to Cottage House Inn since 1st place only had 1 night available. While the Stone Mill was nice,(themed rooms),we found Cottage House Inn much more to our liking. For starters,it...

The Cottage House Inn is a family-owned and managed. There are no televisions or phones in the rooms, which help make this hotel a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of our modern world. There is a shared common room with a refrigerator, microwave, and even an old piano for sing-a-longs. Breakfast is available on weekends...

This is the second time we have stayed at the Cottage House Inn. We liked it so much the first time, we knew we wanted to bring our Norwegian relatives there! This hotel has old country charm like the rest of Lanesboro. It is spotlessly clean and the staff is very friendly and accommodating! If you bring your own bikes...

Enjoyed a few days vacation, and was looking for a quiet and inexpensive hotel. Very clean rooms with free wifi. No phone or TV in rooms, but where there for the scenery and time to get away so did not need them. Also, no breakfast on week days, but we brought our own and they have toaster, microwave fridge, and...

We've stayed here three times now, primarily to serve as our HQ for bicycle trail riding along the wonderful Root River Trail system. Very basic... no in-room TV (hooray!!), simple decor, charming owners who have all kinds of suggestions of local area museums and events to visit. They have a secured, fully enclosed shed to house your bikes safely (and...

The room was comfortably furnished, clean, and quiet. There was a large community room with lots of tables and chairs, a refrigerator and sink. In addition, there was a living room area with a TV and yet another room where coffee and tea and hot chocolate were always available. We could lock up our bikes in the shed and then...

I've been visiting Lanesboro for over ten years, for get away time, to see the great plays at the Commonweal, to shop, visit Decorah not that far away, and always stay at Cottage House Inn. It is comfortable and has the perfect location; I park my car when I arrive, then walk everywhere else. They are located right across from...
