Detailed Reviews
A well located homestay option for those travelling to Tanjong Sepat for a short food hunting holiday. It is located by the seaside at the end of Jalan Laut Membiru. It is in the same vicinity of Ganofarm Ling Zhi producer. There are 32 rooms and a couple of chalet lots to let. Rates are reasonable and the rooms are pretty basic but clean. Parking is ample. Just don't expect great hotel like service as it is after all a homestay. Rooms are good size and have attached bathrooms and air conditioning. There are a couple of seafood restaurants and tourist gift shops nearby too.

Although you can find some nice homestay around this area, but it would be slightly far from the town area. Ganofarm Homestay is a mushroom farm by itself, it has a small bridge along the seaside nearby for fishing purposes or photography purposes. They do sell some local products, mostly relating to mushrooms, they have a small display area for tourists to get some knowledge.
From the outlooks of it, it looks really nice, well maintained and has a big compound. As for the room, we took a standard room, which is actually big enough for 4 person. It has the most basic necessities, such as towel, shampoo, soap bar, water heater, fan, air conditioner, etc. The room only has 2 bed, a TV, a small coffee table, a hanging rack and a bathroom, well it is ok for that price, plus it is one of the "town hotel" so to speak.
They do arrange for a 2 day tour for a price, but not to worry, I would recommend planning your own itinerary as this town is so small, planning it would be as easy as counting 1,2,3.

Stayed overnight and have bbq with a group of friends. Rented the bbq facilities as well as the a/c hall with karaoke facilities. Charges for the pit and hall were reasonable and the workers were all very helpful.
Rooms were decent and I wasn't expecting very much for that price we paid. It was clean. No LCD TV's of course, but a 21" box TV is there with only 1 viewable channel (8TV). The rest of the channels are all "snowing". Basic amenities like electric kettle and instant water heater is available. There's also free wifi in the premise/rooms.
24 hours security throughout the nite, so basically it's very safe here I would say. There's also a souvenir shop which sells Lingzhi and other mushroom products in the ground.
You may also catch the sunrise/sunset from the long wooden bridge by the beach which is located behind Ganofarm homestay.
There used to be a seaview restaurant here but unfortunately it was closed for upgrading work during out visit.
Now to the cons :-
My only gripe during the stay were the beds! It was a disaster. I was like sleeping on springs the whole night. The mattress is like non-existent! It was the same on the other room where my kids were. I'm having a body ache now. The Management should seriously look into this issue.
A pleasant stay otherwise.
Secondly, the sound proofing is at minimal. We had this group of non-considerate old folks whom were talking so loudly from the corridor as early as 6am.

+1
A lot more commercialise to upkeep this place. We saw at the back yard, workers painting "fibreglass, cement casted" Mushrooms the size of a biggest umbrella.
The Educational tour was narrated well by young staff & the methods to grow Gano (Ling Ze) & mushrooms informed.
First timers would be excited by these & your curiosity should get you interested.
From a Kitchen concept, it leads towards coloured signboards that reads, the variety of mushrooms, Gano & range of Organic products.
A Hall opens up to samplings & Sales of these Organic's that cover a wide range.
Vinegar, mushrooms, Gano's, even RICE soap & Fungi are for sale,
But, alas (we are regular Market Goer (street Smart with Cost effective Prices) for all who reads our reviews.
The prices here are Tourist prices, except for GANO whereby we have no comparison.
The Rice-Soaps are from Kedah or South of Thailand,
Sold here, RM$3.20 (S$1.00) each piece of 2x2X1 inches...
We bought 10 packs of 10 pieces as gifts (for the family) at S$0.20 each piece of
2X2X1 inches....just less than 2 months ago.
Many other products that are beneficial to health (with long term studies & recorded) are for sale here, albeit at prices slightly above market.
The home stay (this place is colourful), & next to the beach.....you could have nice pictures taken & reasonable stay.
But alas, They even has a hall to almost the same name as "Wong Fei Hong", in the movie...... it is named Bao Zhi Lin (wrongly written).

We did not stay at the homestay but when we visited. There were a few type of rooms which at that time there was a school trip of some sort there. We here to visit the mushroom farm. Unfortunately most of the mushroom was harvested and all we could see are mushrooms drying under the sun.

The rooms are clean and simple. Nothing fancy. Recommended if you decide to stay overnight.
I stayed there for 1 night and the person in charge was very helpful. You just have to go to the mushroom sales centre to check in.
