We stayed at Water Street Inn during our first visit to Stillwater and enjoyed the place. We typically look for independent and/or historic hotels, and fortunately Water Street Inn offers both. The hotel has quite a few quirks owing to its age, but is in overall good condition. Staff was very friendly, it's located within walking distance of everything in...

My wife and I chose Water Street Inn to stay at for our weekend getaway to explore the streets of Stillwater MN. We made the right choice! Hotel was an awesome throwback to an incredible era. In walking distance to everything. The 3 rooms were nice and cozy, with river view balcony, a fireplace and walk-in shower. The Irish pub...

I only stayed here for one night and I'm glad it was just one night. I've stayed before at hotels that are historic, with furniture and decor from different time periods. However, this hotel was creepy. Pros: -friendly staff -good location -good breakfast food Cons: -rooms are dark, or at least mine was (dark wallpaper) -there's a whirlpool tub in...

I don't know why this hotel isn't rated higher, we had a gorgeous room with a balcony overlooking the river, it was so nice and the room was decorated like something out of an old movie. We walked to the dinner cruise and there is a bar and restaurants downstairs. The location is absolutely perfect. I'd stay again any time...

In search of a downtown hotel in Stillwater, the selection was limited but the Water Street Inn didn't disappoint. While an in-room fridge and microwave would be a welcome addition, the lack of those items was in keeping with the hotel's historic feel. High ceilings and a four-post bed added to the 1800s feel of a hotel in the center...

I stayed here for work and relaxation. From the time I walked in the front door that staff was amazing. The front desk was excellent at directing me to where I needed to park. You are only 1/2 block off the main street with all the little shops and restaurants. The view from my room was the draw bridge was...

I made a reservation for my elderly mother to spend a night in Stillwater for a friends birthday party. The party was June 5, 2016 but Somehow going through Booking.com the site defaulted to that date of the search, May 5th 2016, verses the date of the party a month out. I didn't realize the error and the booking was...

Very expensive with little value. We're told we had 2 beds but had 1 + pull out. 2 coffees , 2 towels, for 3 people. Staff very unfriendly as well. It's too bad. It's a great location. The kids said the room reminded them of the Shinning. Redrum 😳

The bad: This place needs some good updating in lobby and some items in rooms. The beds were terrible. The pillows hard and seemed to be a cheap fill. Everytime you moved, the bed creaked VERY loudly. This was our 3rd time staying here. The windows were either; broken frames (214), didn't have screens (319), some didn't stay up (Both),...

We took a road tour of the river valley area of Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. We selected Water Street Inn because of its location and history. We found it well worth the price. The Inn is right on the river front and close to everything in Stillwater. Short walk to a winery, brewery and a lot of restaurants. As it...
