A unique and positive experience. Train buffs, prepare for system overload. Not particularly into trains? You will still enjoy the surroundings. Once you get used to the width of a train car, it is quite comfortable. Breakfast was great. The lobby offers everything from water, soft drinks, books, games and toys. The owners did everything possible to make sure we...

Stayed here for 2 nights in early September. Okay, I admit the idea of spending the night in a train converted into a hotel inn, was somehow appealing, especially after reading reviews. But the novelty wears off pretty quick in the "basic & small" porter rooms, which did not have mini fridge, microwave, or even coffee maker. Plus in my...

This was a very unique motel. The owners were very friendly, made us feel like family. Rooms all furnished differently and unique. Quiet, restful. Easy access to anywhere north or south on the shore. Will definitely return!

I was going to give this cool hotel made out of box cars 5 stars. Our room looked like new at first glance and there were many new looking things including the entire bathroom, nice sheet rock walls, nice decorations on those walls. So what didn't we like you ask? The bed must have been, well I can't think of...

If you like trains or have kids who do, this is a fine place to stay. If you want a more standard bland motel experience, maybe you'd be better off at a chain motel. The rooms we had were a good size and had comfortable furnishings, including the beds (although I heard that the pull-out sofa beds are less comfortable)....

We were celebrating our 51st wedding anniversary and wanted to stay someplace unique and quiet. It was an excellent choice for both of those reasons. The owners are very friendly and helpful with recommendations for shopping, sightseeing, and food. We definitely would recommend this to anyone, but especially for those that love trains. They keep it very clean and the...

In addition to the novelty of staying in a boxcar, this is a very clean, quite, and well maintained hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location near Two Harbors and the nearby state parks is excellent. I would highly recommend it.

We stayed with our 3 girls, age 6, 4 and 2. It is a fun quiet place for a family. The toy and DVD library are perfect for little kids. The breakfast was also better than expected. Very convenient location 1 mile from Betty's Pie's. We would stay again.

3 things can ruin a stay at a hotel, B&B or Inn. 1) Dirty Room. 2) Bad Mattress 3) Poor Service. Our room was clean, the mattress was comfortable and the service was above and beyond. The owners, Jeff and Cyndi, truly want to make your stay the best possible experience. This was a surprise for my wife on our...
