We stayed at this totally unique inn while in Two Harbors, MN just a week ago. It was a great place to stay - even with children. The boxcars are visible from both the inside and the outside. And, the ceilings in the rooms are as high as a boxcar! Very clean rooms and most friendly innkeepers. Best continental breakfast...

Spent a night here on August 8, 2015. After traveling for 6 hours by car needed a stop to stay for the night. This was pretty close to Duluth, and it was a pleasant surprise. Clean rooms, nice bathrooms, friendly staff, and the railway decor in the halls was fun.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights celebrating his birthday. I acquired a Living Social coupon for this stay at a reduced rate. The Inn is very unique. boxcars converted to rooms. Our room faced the back which looked upon beautiful forest. I was glad that we had this view as those who stayed in front had a...

The Northern Rail Traincar Inn is a very unique lodging experience. It is very easily accessed from highway 61 on the road after Betty's Pies if you're coming from Duluth. The grounds are beautiful as they are kept mostly wild to enjoy the beauty of the North Shore. The rooms themselves are small since it is a traincar but comfortable....

We did not stay here as we were in our RV just down the Hwy in Two Harbors. Dropped in here to check it out ...........had seen the sign advertising this hotel. Very friendly lady at the desk invited us in to look at the rooms. Unbelievable boxcar accommodations. Should we ever be in need of a room near Two...

This is a delightfully unique inn made of actual railway boxcars converted to rooms. The hospitality was outstanding and the management bent over backward to satisfy our need for lodging without reservations. The room, while small was very comfortable. Continental breakfast was available although we were not able to stay to enjoy it. Each room had a television with built-in...

My daughter and I stayed one night here on our trip up the North Shore. We lucked into a room and did indeed consider ourselves lucky! The atmosphere is so unique... beautiful setting and so quiet and peaceful in the woods. Our hosts were very hospitable, the room was very clean and detailed. There was a hand woven rug for...

We visited last weekend for the first time and this was such a unique and wonderful experience! The kids just absolutely loved that they got to sleep in a Traincar and have a campfire with s'mores! It's nestled in the woods, and is only like a 1/2 mile from Lake Superior. The view of Lake Superior on the road when...

We took our three grandsons on a mini vacation to Two Harbors and stayed at the Northern Rail Traincar Inn. Loved it! The boys really thought it was cool sleeping in a train car. It had everything we needed. Cindi and Jeff were so nice. They really made us feel at home! We highly recommend staying here. It is very...

Spent two nights here recently. Great host with unique ambiance. Train cars are clean with incredibly quiet surroundings. A great novelty stay with the kids or a out-of-the-box stay while staying up north. I'll definitely drop in again! 😄
