I made a reservation directly with this motel 8/19/21 for a 3 night stay. I had to make 2 reservation as the 1 bedroom suite I requested wasn't available for Sunday September 19th and had to reserve a standard 2 queen bed room. I called September 14th to see if by chance they had a cancellation for the 1 bedroom suite with 2 queen beds for Sunday September 19th. They said yes that room was available so I changed my reservation for all 3 nights to the 1 bedroom suite with 2 queen beds and confirmed I was traveling with 2 dogs so I requested room 136 on the ground floor. I was aware of the room number as I had stayed there several times on previous trips. They said they had made a note on the reservation but could not guarantee Room 136 as I requested. I stated that is find as long as I would have a 1 bedroom suite with 2 queen beds. I was in route September 19, around 1:00pm or shortly thereafter I received a call from the front desk. They were calling as they indicated I had 2 reservations, apparently when I changed it to the 1 bedroom suite for all 3 nights they forgot to cancel the single room. I was then informed the 1 bedroom suite wasn't available as they had given that room away, keep in mind check in is at 3:00pm. They didn't have any 1 bedroom (dog friendly) suites available as there was a dog show in town and those rooms were taken. I was extremely upset as I had a confirmation number for a reservation for the 1 bedroom suite. The front desk person said there was no note that I was traveling with dogs, which I know was confirmed with both the initial reservation from 8-19-21 and then again when making the change 9-14-21. So someone screwed up and didn't add the fact I was traveling with 2 dogs. They said they could put me in 2 separate rooms like that does me any good when traveling with 2 dogs. I asked to talk to a manager was told there was no manager on duty they would try to reach one and have them call me. No manager ever called it has been a whole week and nobody has called. I had to scramble to find another motel that had the type of room I needed that was dog friendly. We did find another motel we got the last room but that room cost me an additional $200 for our stay. I will never stay at this location again. I have filed a complaint with corporate which I am sure will not do any good as I was told the motels are privately owned. Just to satisfy my curiosity I stopped at another La Quinta in the area and spoke to the manager to ask about reservations. I asked if I reserve a particular type of room (pet friendly) is that a guarantee that I will get that type of room upon check in. They said absolutely otherwise there is no purpose of a reservation. A walk in with no reservation has to take whatever room is not reserved but they never give away a reserved room. If by some freak accident that was to happen and they didn't have a pet friendly room available they would put the guest in the same type of room that was designated as pet friendly. My advice is don't expect the type of room you reserved at the Woodbury, MN location as I was told during our conversation on the day of arrival they have a first come first serve basis. I don't know why they bother taking reservations if that is truly the case.…
The hotel is very clean and the staff was friendly. Disappointed that they still have a bag breakfast, but better quality than some. The pool is cool (too cold), but the hot tub was great. They also have a kids pool area if you have younger children. It was labor day weekend, so I assume that was why the rooms were higher priced.
My husband and I have been traveling across country and we stopped at this hotel to see if they had a room for the night. The front desk girl not only accommodated our request but was super friendly and worked on getting us the best deal possible. Rooms were nice and clean and quiet. Loved this hotel and would highly recommend staying here.
This is a nice hotel. It is convenient for our trips to the doctor. They also accommodate pets, which is a plus since we have 2 small dogs. The rooms are clean and quiet. The space in the shower is great, but the water pressure could be a little better. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Found this on Booking.com, but when we got there for some reason it was made for 5 months in the future. We still were able to stay there, was very clean, nice pool area and the employees were very nice.
