Thank you Marcia, first of all for all your infomation, but especially that you called us to come earlier so that we could attend the rehearsal of your friend Dorothy Moore. A private concert! Furthermore the B&B is well located in Jackson and is a very clean and bright place! The house is nicely decorated and gives you the feeling...

Thanks for your kind words. I'm glad you got to see Dorothy in rehearsal and to see the Alamo Theater where she started singing in talent shows when she was 12. Hope you will come again when you are in Mississippi.

This was my second stay at Poindexter Park Inn in five years, and it felt like coming home. Owner Marcia Weaver is a jewel, a wonderful source of history of music and Mississippi culture, and puts on a delightful breakfast. The Inn is a rambling old woodframe house done up by the blues and stocked with all variety of blues...

Ellen, It's always good to have a returning guest. Glad you liked the blues theme and literature. But I like best to share live blues music when it's available. I'm always pleased when guests feel comfortable staying at my inn. Thanks for booking again.

I am a French student and I spent a few days at Marcia's inn. I'll keep an amazing souvenir of this stay. The inn was really cute, super clean, and it felt good sleeping in such a quiet place. The breakfast was very good too, especially the blueberry bread Marcia made every morning. The decoration is all about blues, and even...

A friend and I stayed at the Inn as part of a roadtrip through the southern states. Everything about the inn was as expected, and we really enjoyed our stay. If you're someone who enjoys the corporate hotel experience, then this won't be somewhere that will tick all your boxes... however if, like me you like to really get under...

Thanks for your review of your stay at my inn and telling folks about Blue Monday at Hal and Mal's. Some of the best blues music around and I try to make it there often. Come back when you can.

Very welcoming hostess, great breakfast and pretty room full of interesting things. Marcia suggested Underground 119 for dinner and music in Jackson which was a great venue with fantastic food. The house was very homely and lovingly cared for and much more personal than staying in a hotel chain- sachets of rose petals for my bath!! The neighbourhood not the...

Thanks Graham for your good review of my inn. I enjoy introducing folk to our Mississippi blues and we can find it most nights. It's about time you come South again!

A very kind hostess cannot quite make up for a room that prices out equally with large clean hotel chains. Speaking of chains, the toilet chain in our bathroom was broken until I fixed it, as the hostess left us to go out to another event. The place needs a lot of work and a good cleaning, and were the...

Glad you liked the music scene I suggested in the Jackson community and describing my place as funky You're the first ever to say my bed and breakfast was over priced in my almost 20 years of operating. Thanks for staying.

We loved staying at the Poindexter Park Inn in Jackson. Marcia is a gracious hostess with great knowledge of restaurants and music venues. The house is charming, and we had a lovely breakfast before heading out. Marcia recommended we go to Underground 119 for dinner, and we got to hear Cyrill Neville (Aaron's brother) a wonderful artist in his own...

I did not feel comfortable in this neighbourhood - it was very run down and the inn was similarly shabby. There was a strange smell in the house - very musty. Our room was miniscule and the bathroom tiny, with a door that had a gap of an inch or so all the way round. To make matters worse, our...

My inn is not for everyone but I've been open for nearly 20 years, much longer than trip advisor. My guests come from all over the US and world. The "bought cake" was blueberry bread I fresh cooked with berries my husband and I grow. All locks on room doors are working. The house is over 100 but the locks...

Well, yes, I'm in my late 60s and I guess I'm small. My inn is all about blues in Mississippi; people, places, and music. If you want to know about Tommy Johnson from Crystal Springs who penned the song Canned Heat or just want to hear local blues music I can help and give you a place to stay. I've...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Blues, blueberry bread and brass beds await guests. Ask about the self-guided blues tour and bicycle pick up from the Natchez Trace. Writers and film makers have told about my unique inn that offers much blues history for guests. You may meet singer Dorothy Moore, best known for Misty Blue, when she's in town. PPI guests come from the US, Belgium, Canada, France, UK, Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden to find MS blues. An Australian company filmed a documentary on blues man Ben Wiley Payton in 2009 and in 2011 a music video was filmed at PPI. The neighborhood housed Jimmy King's famed Subway Lounge featured in film, Last of the Mississippi Jukes. Vintage signs, records, musical instruments and photo's adorn the walls along with posters and original art. Guest rooms have ceiling fans, private baths, and of course AC. Off street parking is available. PPI is a pet friendly inn. A smoke free inn, PPI was established in 1994. ... more   less
