Nestled in a serene and picturesque setting, Chateau on the Lake Resort Spa & Convention Center offers a calming atmosphere with festive decorations, though it's recommended to have a vehicle to explore nearby attractions. While the hotel boasts a range of amenities, including a movie theater and dining options, some guests have experienced slow service and noted maintenance needs. Opinions on value are mixed, with many feeling the costs outweigh the benefits. Room experiences vary, with some enjoying the space and views, but others pointing out cleanliness and noise issues.

Once again we spent several hours enjoying the ambiance and views offered at this architecturally engaging structure; continuing a yearly Branson tradition of ours.
The seasonal decorations are quite festive; and nicely compliment the already impressive, yet comfortable lobby area.
We enjoyed brunch in their lobby cafe, overlooking the interior water features (a pleasant accompanyament to our eggs Benedict & French toast).
We spent additional time partaking of the wonderful Lake views, from various interior and exterior vantage points.
All and all, we had another pleasurable day at this local gem. We're already looking forward to next year's visit.

Overall our adventures at Chateau on the Lake began with an easy check in at the Reception Desk where we were welcomed with elegant hospitality. Parking offered valet service, but my husband chose to drop me off where I was welcomed by two Chateau gentlemen opening the ornate doors for me.

At the time of our check in we were thrilled to spy dozens gathering and being directed to their black tie affair. The atmosphere was electrifying, not chaotic in the least bit, organized and the entrance is large enough that there was not one instance of a bottle-neck of bodies in line trying to get through. It was like a well orchestrated event it was as if The Chateau On the Lake REALLY knows what they are doing...well, I do believe they really do.

We immediately got onto the glass elevator to our room on the 6th floor overlooking the lake.
The room is luxurious, bed is very comfortable, pillows ranged from medium to body sized. Bathroom is very clean and stocked with luxurious soaps and such. A second sink with a Keurig coffee maker near the bed, make up mirror, many charging stations, desk area, couch and did I mention the lake view out the balcony?

The Chateau on The Lake has a Sweet Shoppe, Gift Shopoe, movie theater, indoor and outdoor pools, walking paths and spa. Indoor birds, huge bar area, waterfalls, ornate furniture, beautiful portraits and various areas are everywhere to discover.

The meeting areas are vast and can accommodate any sized group.
Fresh water and coffee were readily available within our meeting venue.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at The Chateau on The Lake. I can only post 10 of my many photos.
Five STARS
Dining areas are divinely tranquil. My favorite dining area was near the vast windows viewing the majesty of the lake. My second favorite dining area sits near one of the three glass elevators. With viewing the market umbrellas tabkes elegantly set, water falls, giant indoor tree, open area revealing ten stories of rooms and caged birds is quite a sight from the glass elevators.

Overall...our trip to the Chateau on The Lake was excellent. ..
I give Chateau...Five Stars

The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The pool area is well kept and allows for adult swimming only from 10 P.M. on, which is an added bonus. The dining is very limited, only serving at 5:00 P.M. with a limited, and expensive menu.

Decided to stay here for family vacation before the start of school. This was our first visit to Chateau on the Lake Branson (CLB).

Pros:
Staff were overall very welcoming and accommodating. Our first night, we noticed that the toilet tank would not fill (the tank float would get stuck in the up position) and one of the towel rings was loose from the wall in the bathroom. We called the front desk and maintenance had both issues fixed promptly. Also, since room service for towels/cleaning was not routinely available, the front desk/room service did a great job replacing towels, clearing trash, etc upon request.

The bed was comfortable and the partial lake view provided by the balcony was great for the morning cup of coffee provided by the in-room Keurig.

Temperature control for the room was responsive and easy to control.

The staff did a great job trying to follow social distancing guidelines and there was ample supply of hand sanitizer at all major entry/exit points. All staff were wearing masks.

Cons:

Due to COVID restrictions many amenities were not available (i.e. The downstairs deli, the children’s play place and the children’s theater were all closed and other food concessions had limited hours). Also, room service for food was not offered. Off resort places to eat were at least a 10-15 min drive from the resort.

We tried to rent a boat from the resort marina but they were completely booked so we were unable to spend any time on the lake. I guess I assumed we would have ample opportunity to rent a boat at least once during our week stay given it is a private marina but that was not the case. Advice: reserve a boat well in advance of check-in to ensure you get to spend time on the lake.

The rooms (we rented a Partial Lake View King) were a bit dated in terms of amenities. No mini fridge. The alarm clock had the connection port for the original iPhone and there were no ports/plugs for USB charging.

Prices for the Sweet Shoppe were a bit high but when it’s the only thing open at the resort during the day, I guess they can charge whatever they want.

Soundproofing for our room wasn’t the best. While we didn’t hear outside noise much from our bed, we did here our upstairs neighbor use the restroom every morning and the sound of the toilet flushing.

We wanted to get away for the weekend from St. Louis. I had been to the spa here several years ago and it was such a wonderful place. Sad to say, this trip was a disappointment. The rooms are out of date and needing freshening. The linens were stained. The bathroom could use a make over. The tub looked dirty but was simply stained. We paid a daily resort fee to be able to use the internet and some other features we were not sure of. The resort internet was so slow it was not worth the fee. The pool was also showing a few signs of age as well as the landscaping. Although we didn't have daily cleaning service or freshening we still paid a typical rate for our room, would have appreciated a discount. Most of the restaurants in the resort were closed or had minimal hours. They did not have pool service. They did have a coffee shop open with ice cream, breakfast treats and sandwiches. Unfortunately the blond woman working there was rude and curt both days we were there. She regularly touched her hair with her ungloved hands as she was serving people. We don't plan on returning unless it receives a tune up.

This is not a 4 diamond hotel. I requested a quiet room, king bed, with a lake view, private balcony, on a high floor if possible, and away from traffic. I was given a room across from the elevator, it was extremely noisy, and the balcony was not private. The balcony was between two wings of the hotel and while it overlooked the lake, it also overlooked the very loud pool. I was on the 8th floor, so I was on a higher floor. Due to Covid daily housekeeping was unavailable, which was fine, but when you requested clean towels, they were left outside of your room on the floor. They should have been placed in a bag, not just put on the dirty floor. This is disgusting even without the pandemic. The room was anything but quiet. There was a barking dog, but I was told the dogs were all kept on the third floor, when I complained, I was told that there was not a dog in either of the rooms next to me. Obviously this was not the case. The owners of the dogs in the hotel were not picking up the dog waste and it was throughout the grounds, since there is not a designated pet area, so watch your step if you decide to stay at this hotel. There is inadequate handicapped parking. The parking is horrible with most spots being very far away from the entrance and you must walk uphill. To make matters worse, guests with boats were allowed to park in such as way as to take up 6 parking spots, and there were a lot of boats. When I inquired about this, I was told there was nothing that could be done. Many amenities were unavailable. There was no concierge yet other resorts had this service, I checked. The movie theater was closed, but theaters are open in Branson and are practicing social distancing. I am not sure what "services" you are getting for you money. This hotel is not cheap, and we paid over $350 per night for a loud room, with an OK view of the lake, and a king bed. There was not even a mini fridge in the room. I have stayed in several hotels during the pandemic and this was by far the worst I have experienced. I usually stay in 4 star and above hotels, so this in not about the money, but what you receive for your money. I have stayed in 3 star hotels that have better service so buyer beware.

We were searching for a safe, nice "base" during the pandemic to explore outdoor activities in the Branson area. The Chateau was perfect for our desires. The staff was friendly, attentive and efficient. The hotel is exceptionally clean with a gorgeous "old world" style decor. The Lobby area is especially beautiful with its "nature" setting. We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor pools and hot tub every day after exploring. Our lake view room was very nice, comfortable and spacious and we appreciated having a "bar" sink as well as the bathroom sink. We felt safe at all times as everyone wore a mask indoors and respected the "one family" only request for the elevators. Housekeeping did not come daily as usual due to Covid restrictions, but we were fine with that. Self parking, a fantastic location on the lake, and close to all of Branson's attractions and Branson Landing. The Sweet Shoppe has delicious treats! We would definitely stay here again.

My boyfriend and I went for a relaxing couples weekend getaway at the beginning of January. We loved that the Christmas decorations were still up! They have a nativity set from Home Alone, a gingerbread village made by the kitchen staff, many Christmas trees and even Santa hangs from the ceiling! Any family or couples would love the decor. Everyone was friendly at the hotel and provided speedy service.

I booked a massage at the spa. The prices were reasonable. I am wary of massage therapists because I prefer deep tissue therapeutic massages. They delivered! I would recommend the hot stone massage. Booking a massage also allows you full access to the private spa pool, aromatherapy showers, private lounge and steam room which increases the “bang for your buck” that you get.

We will be back!

I understand, that COVID time makes travel industry business so different, and it’s very difficult to stay on top, but a lot of places are trying to do that and trying hard. Chateau on the Lake is one of them. We stayed there last weekend for three nights and I have strange filling that I like the place and I am not sure I am coming back or recommend it to my clients as a travel agent.
The location is amazing, if you get the lakefront room, you get the best view in Branson. The building is very nice, even it’s old and, if you already stayed in modern hotels, you understand what I am talking about. Very nice and beautiful area around the hotel, there are indoor and outdoor pools, tennis court, state parks, marinas and the beach nearby.
Because of COVID, the hotel is not servicing your room on daily bases, but if you need anything, just call or text management and you get everything right away. Special thanks to Jessica, who checked on us every day if we need anything. The bed was nice, very comfortable sheets and pillows. Guys, they are trying their best to make your stay pleasant, no complains about that.
What is not good? Try to avoid their main restaurant Chateau Grill and coffee shop. Drive couple miles and get food somewhere in town. Overpriced, limited menu and not really good cooking. Coffee shop offers you some variety of coffee, ice cream, cookies and snacks. But I think that coffee itself was bought before COVID started. I asked about Americano and got regular coffee diluted with water.
I have no idea what was the regular pricing for this place before the pandemic, but I do not think the price we paid matches the quality, even again they are trying and trying hard. And again, even couple days after leaving the hotel, I still do not know do I like it or not.

The lake view was beautiful from the restaurant and some high floor areas. That’s is all this hotel has going for it! The rooms are extremely dated and in a desperate need of a major overhaul and deep cleaning!

The furniture, decor, and floors are old and very, very outdated. The bathroom is tiny!!! The living room area is a nice size but the furniture is old and needs cleaning! Our toddler was playing near the drapes and came back covered in filth and dust. It was disgusting! The bedroom had old linens, a hard bed and again dusty/dirty drapes. Both areas our toddler came out covered in filth!

We ate at the restaurant and ordered a medium rare filet and got a medium well filet. The brownie was covered in dried banana and was not at all flavorful. The food was overpriced and not the quality it was being sold at.

The kids area, which was sold to us at booking was closed and unavailable. The pool area was nice but overall every area of the hotel lacked resources. The sweet shoppe was open but no one was there either time we went to buy something.

The room prices in room were lower than what we were charged at booking, they jacked up prices due to Covid and still charged resort fees though they were understaffed and not helpful. We realize times are tough since Covid but at this point, they are taking advantage of customers and lacking in service, cleanliness and facilities.

Do not go here! This was our second hotel on our trip and the first in Branson was updated, clean and had far more amenities and helpful staff!!! Way overpriced for old, dated, dirty and lacking resourcing.
