Stayed here 3 nights while in town for my daughter’s wedding. Older place, currently in the stages of renovation but don’t worry about that. My room was very clean and bed was very comfortable. Nice linens and pillows, better than most chain hotels. The manager “Doc” is very accommodating and just a very nice man. If you’re looking for pet friendly this is your place, his dog “bandit” is at his side all the time and also a sweet dog. Desk clerks and housekeeping staff all ver polite and helpful. As I said before, the place is aging but it’s clean and comfortable. Huge fridge in my room, unexpected but great considering I needed a place to store 40# of ground beef for a day! Big thanks to Doc and his staff, if I ever need to come through again I will return to this hotel!
Booked for one night, in town for funeral. Overall feel is not cozy at all. People yelling up and down halls, loud. I wasn’t aware they locked doors at night and i was locked out.no hot breakfast offered as advertised. Took 3 calls to hotel and 16 minutes to be let back in. No soap or any toiletries in room, and i didn’t know you have to ask for them until a little later, but it was so late and i had already woke manager up once that i didn’t ask. Mouse poop under my pillows as well as a little pool of what i assume was mouse pee. Gathered my items and left around midnight. They would not do a partial refund. Nobody would leave a motel at midnight and drive to Bolivar without a very good reason. Partial refund should have been given. Very shady place.
This was a nicer place than I expected and it was obvious that they are working on upgrading the hotel. I booked our stay through hotels.com but was also charged by the hotel when I checked in and I didn't realize it until after we had left. I believe it was a mistake but I have called and emailed numerous times and haven't received a refund yet. Hopefully this helps!
I stayed 5 nights there and the first thing I have to say is that they genuinely care about your comfort during your stay. They are under new management so of course there is going to be some growing pains. They strive to portray the idea of hospitality which has gone by the wayside in so many hotels today. I saw that they helped some locals who had fallen on some hard luck. Ive stayed here with different management and the renovations were remarkable. They give 100 percent effort and sometimes get a bad wrap for enforcing the no smoking rules. It makes sense smoking stinks. They have to be strict about these things to preserve what their hotel stands for. Its a slippery slope that takes a nice hotel to a ghetto hotel full of meth head hangout like other establishments in the area. 5 stars🙌👑😁 👑❤…
I would like to thank the owners for for being so accommodating for my daughter and granddaughter. Due to icy roads the girls needed to park for the night. I called to set up the room and The Gracious Host made them very welcome made sure their parking area and walk was salted. Even helped them with their bags after they returning from the box store next door. The room was clean, warm, My girls could not have been more pleased with 3 room or service. Thank You
One of the lamps are burnt out. The place didn’t have shampoo or conditioner or body wash. The bathroom has a misaligned door. The outlets are not near the beds so you have to charge your phone from across the room. The wallpaper is tearing at the seams. The alarm clock in the room was not able to be used because there are no outlets near the beds. The windows do not open. When trying to use the phone book I saw that the phone book is very out of date.
Their website claims they are “clean, comfortable and friendly.” When you first walk into the lobby, it does look promising, but pretty quick you’ll notice the smoke smell. Not a problem if you smoke, but we don’t smoke, so the smell makes everything feel more dirty to us. Then, you’ll notice the pool doesn’t look super inviting, but we didn’t plan to swim anyway. We would have liked to use the hot tub, but it does not work and apparently hasn’t for several years; so maybe there’s no plans to fix it? The check-in clerk was a little rough around the edges, but wasn’t outwardly rude. She was definitely not super friendly though. She’s there to do a job, not serve the customer. The breakfast area looks ok at first glance, but the overall uncleanliness of the hotel doesn’t put you in a mood to eat there. We went out for breakfast because all the breakfast food looked old/stale. Our room looked like someone did a quick job to “clean”. Nothing really looked clean though. There’s a strong lack of attention to detail. The bed skirt and comforter had something brown on it (hoping it was mud). They have the old style comforters (which looked very old/faded/used as well), which always feel dirty to us too. We didn’t bother to take a shower because you are provided with hardly any soap. The beds were pretty comfortable, but the pillows left you wanting for more. The sheets seemed clean enough, so we pushed the comforter off and the place is very quiet, so we did sleep well. It was definitely exactly what you would expect for a cheap hotel. Our biggest issue is that we had to pay $90 to stay there! We started a new business and my husband and I are planning on being in the area once a year. We will not stay here again. In fact, we will stay in Bolivar (20 minutes away) and drive back-and-forth to Buffalo from now on. One last note, the female clerk who is there in the evenings and the male clerk who is there in the mornings, both remained barefoot behind the desk during the length of our stay.…
We had been traveling all day and decided to call it quits for the day on Buffalo, MO. Turns out there were two motels to chose from and this was the nest of the two. It is an OLD motel with old rooms. Clean, but old and worn.. The gal at the front desk was the best part of the stay. She was very helpful and accommodating. Skip the free breakfast and go somewhere in town.
Both the room and the entire motel were extremely clean. The bed was comfortable and the motel was quiet and well maintained. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Would gladly stay there again.
Needs some updating, but very clean and beds were comfortable. We did have trouble with door locking upon exit, but we had an adjoining room and used that for entrance and exit. I am sure if we had called someone they would have fixed it that night. Some members of our party felt the fellow at front desk did not have a very good disposition for guest relations.
