This 1880's style Victorian mansion is lovingly maintained, with comfortable beds and modernized period style private ensuite baths. The breakfasts are great, seasonal menus. A good choice for the single traveler, as the location is quiet, the home is secure, and the guest is a person, not a room number. Carthage is a pretty, historical little town well worth the... Lovely house, comfortable bed! Food was very good. Peace and quite! Lots of coffee around and I really enjoyed this! They were nice enough to let us drop off our bags early and also agree to rearrange schedule if need be to let us stay another night after I accidentally injured my hand and the injury was totally my fault.... Thank you for your kind words about your stay, we were glad to let you in several hours ahead of your scheduled arrival. We do have all kinds of first aid items, but we were only asked for ice, which we supplied several times throughout the morning while waiting to make your breakfast. If we had realized you wanted more... More

I love a B & B. It is a wonderful way to get a real feel for the area visiting. I love the history of this old place. We spent 3 nights here while on a visit for a wedding in Joplin. We prefer to experience the area vs. just staying in a hotel/motel. So, the innkeepers were personable, and... More

My wife and I travel for ministry along with our 2 year old. This bed and breakfast was very accommodating. Considering that we are also vegetarians, we usually pick around the breakfast options. But not this morning. They served us up a feast. Blessings to owners of this comfortable, historic building. My wife is very impressed also with the original... More

We stayed in this historic home on a tree-lined street overnight in December on our way to Amarillo, roughly following Route 66. This Queen Anne beauty was beautifully maintained and furnished with period pieces that complimented the original stained glass windows. Our gracious host, Jeanie showed us to our room on the main floor behind a most unusual staircase. The... More

We stayed at the Grand Avenue for one night. Jeanne upgraded us to a downstairs room which was kind as we didn't have to take the luggage upstairs. Our room had everything we needed. No fridge but we used the small one in the common area to cool some beers high we sipped on the porch. Breakfast was very nice.... More

Grand Avenue Bed and Breakfast is a beautiful victorian home located on a safe, quiet street populated with other beautiful old homes and giant shade-giving trees. It boasts of unique, architectural features such as ornate wood working, and original stained glass windows. Though the place houses antique relics and original fixtures, our quarters still felt immaculately clean. Our room was... More
