The Lodge was fantastic. We booked a Bluff View room in February, as a romantic getaway not far from home. Exceeded expectations. The back porch had a great view, provided it's winter and no leaves on the trees. The sound of the river was peaceful and could be heard up at the room with an open door. The room has a fireplace which is operational during winter. At night when the temperature dropped we pulled fire wood out from under the Lodge deck and made a fire at the fire pit (the Lodge front desk has all the tools to start the fire, no need to bring your own fire starter or matches). The gift shop had great local beers in the cooler at normal retail prices, a good selection of non alcoholic drinks and quick serve foods. The restaurant is one of the best state run lodges we have ever eaten at in any state! Pricing is reasonable ($10 burger and fries) and portions were very big. Everything we had was very good both days for both breakfast and dinner (we hiked during the day). Just a quick easy hike along the river bank out the back of the Lodge to the bridge and back was nice. Make sure you go to the overlook, hiking or by car. The area up there is awesome and you can grill out and there's a fire pit to chill at late as the sun goes down. Great price for every aspect of the experience. Very clean and everyone was friendly. Will definitely be back.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. We appreciate all feedback and I will pass these comments along to our hard working staff. It is so wonderful to hear you enjoyed your stay so much! Winter is such a wonderful time to cozy up by the fireplace and eat in at the restaurant, it is nice to hear you were able to enjoy the amenities and everything the park has to offer. We look forward to having you stay with us in the future!

This was our fourth stay at Echo Bluff and frankly, we didn't know what to expect. The others in our party (8-9 people) cancelled due to Covid-19 worries. We kept our reservations for a lodge room and were glad we did! All staff and most guests observed the requests to wear masks and observe social distancing. Because of the persistent rain, dining outside on the great patio was not possible. But the dining room allowed guests to take food to their rooms or sit at well spaced tables in either of the two rooms available. We were able to time it so we could eat mostly by ourselves.
The food here was never outstanding before, but this year there is apparently a new Head Chef, as well as new management, and the change is a huge improvement! We enjoyed the Fresh Mushroom Strudel, the BBQ ribs and the Fried Chicken and mashed potatoes, as well as the potsticker appetizers and their strawberry cake and Blackberry tart for desserts. All were delicious: the meats juicy and tender. Even the vegetable sides were done properly, not limp and overcooked.
Staff was friendly and welcoming and very helpful on two separate occasions. With the Lodge's special Covid-19 adjustments, Housekeeping will not enter the room for stays under five days, although the front desk will send up fresh towels or coffee supplies if requested. We felt no need in our three days to ask for housekeeping and brought our own preferred coffee pods for the Keurig.
Room was clean and comfortable, and the gas fireplace was a nice treat on the cold wet days and nights. Our only problem was figuring out the TV and Direct TV channels on the first night. Had we called down, the mgt. would have explained it, but we didn't bother them.
We booked our room for the following year! It's a tradition with us now.

We spent an enjoyable two days, one night at Echo Bluff State Park in the Betty Lea Lodge. We visited Alley Mill, Blue Spring, Rocky Falls and Round Spring while we were there. The food in the dinning room at the lodge was good too! For our anniversary dinner I had the garlic filet with mashed potatoes and broccoli and my husband had the tortellini with mixed vegetables. Everything was excellent. For lunch I had the chicken cordon bleu sandwich with sweet potato fries and my husband had the catfish sandwich with curly fries. For breakfast I had the blueberry pancake and my husband had the eggs and biscuit with gravy and fried potatoes.
Our room had a comfortable king sized bed, couch, coffee table, side chair, fireplace, mini fridge, Keurig coffee maker, microwave, soaking tub/shower and separate walk-in shower. Our balcony had two chairs and overlooked the bluff. We saw a bald eagle fly through! At night the stars were incredible!
For the most part the staff were friendly though more anxiety than was needed when we tried to use our coupon in the gift store- I suggest you print it before you go. You must spend at least $10 and can’t use it for alcohol. They also don’t want you to touch anything you aren’t going to buy due to Covid so it makes it hard to check out what items you might like (smell the hand made soaps etc).
There is guest WiFi but we had to stand by our room door to get enough signal. We were almost at the far end of the second floor so might be better in rooms closer to the lobby. I would ask for a second floor room for the best view (only 2 floors). There is an elevator. We never had to share the elevator or wait long. There were few people around- off season and during Covid. Staff wore masks although signs just encouraged social distancing. Most visitors wore masks and it was easy to stay clear of those who didn’t.
The creek is close and there is a foot washing station with towels provided.
Check out the Eminence, MO website for local attractions. We went to many springs (Blue, Round, Pulltight, Alley and Alley Mill). Rocky Falls was also a good stop (waterfall). We did not see the wild horses but we saw two bald eagles, turkeys, woodpeckers, deer etc.

We paid $504 for 3 nights in the lodge, but had no maid service. Upon returning to our room after our first day on the river our room was the same as when we left. That was when I was told there was no maid service and we had to request then retrieve our own fresh towels. Nothing in the room was restocked (cups, coffee pods, creamer) during our stay and nothing was removed (trash, towels), nor was it even offered to be restocked or removed. I had to ask for sheets to the pull out couch because there were none, and then I had to go get them. The service in the restaurant was very slow and the food was not good. We had a burger the first evening we got there. The burger patty was microwaved and nobody can tell me any different. The patty was burning hot when I bit into it, but had zero juice and no flavor. The picture of the 2 sodas and sunscreen cost me $22 in the store! We rented bikes that were overpriced and based on child or adult bike, but the bikes all looked the same. I was told COVID kept us from having our room cleaned and restocked, so then why should I still pay full price for a room? What am I paying for? The good news? The river on the back of the property is very nice, and when floating the bus picks up and drops off at the front door. If we decide to stay for a 3rd time, we will get a cabin like we did in 2017.

We apologize about the experience you had and we will review this with our staff to improve and make changes where needed. With Covid as is standard in the Industry currently we are not servicing rooms during the stay for the protection of guests and staff. We do keep extra supplies for our guest at the front desk and this will be reviewed with our staff to assure this is explained properly.

We stayed two nights in the lodge. We had a room that looked out to the bluffs. I really enjoyed sitting on the balcony, however when we first went to go sit out, it was filthy. There was food crumbs everywhere, cobwebs everywhere, the little table had glass rings all over it. It was obvious it hadn't been cleaned in awhile...I think the balconies should be cleaned as part of the cleaning process. Especially during these times. I am attaching a picture of the Kleenex I used to wipe off the table. The room itself was very nice. Very spacious and comfy! We had three meals at their Creekside Grill. The food was very good! Prices reasonable. However we ordered a pitcher of beer two different nights, the menu stated $10, we were charged $12 one night and $10 the next... We had three different servers, all very nice. Only complaint with all three was that they never cleared our dishes when we finished, which made for alot of flies! We noticed that no tables were cleaned until after the parties left.. Overall we enjoyed the quietness of the lodge.

Echo Bluff is an unparalleled State Park situated ideally as a base camp for my family’s adventures. Their off-season rates were a welcomed benefit of booking a trip in early November, not to mention the perfect weather, the vibrant colors of the foliage, and plentiful wildlife sightings, including many deer, eagles, cranes, king fishers, otter, mink, turtles, and of course the beautiful herds of wild horses that roam the Echo Bluff park grounds.

Our family was able to access great hiking trails from within the park, as well as nearby locations like Devil’s Well. We always love visiting Alley Spring as well. We were also conveniently located for canoeing the upper Current River. We did 2 trips because my family enjoyed it so much that they wanted to do a short trip on the morning of the day that we left. The first was a 21 mile float from Akers Ferry to Round Spring and second was a 10 mile from Pulltite to Round Spring. They were there many fascinating features on this stretch of the river, including Merritt Cave.

We stayed in the lower level of a duplex cabin, which was well appointed, very clean, and comfortable for our family of six. When the heat pump outside made terrible noises due to a faulty bearing, the staff contacted maintenance and had the problem corrected quickly.

The restaurant at the lodge has excellent service and delicious meals. Even my picky eaters found selections they loved. We loved the ability to make meals in the cabin, but it was nice to be able to eat at the restaurant a couple of times, especially after arriving to the park late on the first night.

The Sinking Creek Mercantile was a convenient place to get last minute supplies and they had great apparel, though they were out of several sizes we would have liked to purchase due to supply shortages.

The front desk staff was able to help me book a full duplex cabin for extended family this summer in the midst of a month with low availability due to heavy pre-booking. We are excited to share this beautiful location with our family this summer!

No where in the advertising of Echo Bluff Lodge does it mention that there is no cell service in the area. In their defense they do not charge for long distance on their land lines. But they do advertise that they have wi-fi. It is sketchy at best. Good luck using it in your room. The TV channels are limited —the best we could find to watch was old reruns. Could not watch Netflix on our own device as the WiFi was not working. Not much to do in the evening after dark. But the most discouraging part of the trip was that the desk personnel were less than helpful and often just disinterested. Most of the indoor dining area was not available because they said they were setting up for a wedding. We were there on a Wednesday night! That left the deck area for dinner and the sun was such that the umbrellas did not offer much shade. I will say that the food was good, priced OK and the service good. The river behind the Lodge is pretty and scenic, but only about 6” deep. We paid way more than we normally would pay for a room and the overall experience was disappointing. If you asked for an extra pillow or assistance with the TV the personnel acted like they were doing you a favor.

We stayed in the lodge for a long weekend and received a 30% discount for staying 3 nights! We had a wonderful stay. The king-sized bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean upon arrival. We loved having a fireplace in the room (even if it was gas, but at least you don't have to keep tending to the fire)!! We totally loved having a microwave and fridge in the room. We did a lot of hiking in the area and we were able to eat a quick breakfast before hitting the trails and had the ability to make a few wraps to put in our pack for lunch. Even though it was winter, we bundled up and took advantage of the balcony over looking the creek and bluff. We even got to see 6 wild horses right out our door! There are 2 nice rocking chairs and small table for your drinks on it. And the bathroom!! WOW! a tub/shower combo PLUS a huge walk in shower!
The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. It was a perfect stay!

Stayed here for one night. Should have stayed longer. The room had a comfortable balcony overlooking Echo Bluff and was modern and comfortable. The bathroom had a large walk-in shower and a deep soaking tub. The room was not cheap (I made last-minute reservations on a very busy week at the end of June), but it was a good value. Meals in the Grill were moderately priced and tasty. Most importantly, and the reason for five stars, the staff were universally friendly and helpful. Over many years I've stayed in hotels all over the world and have seldom experienced the kind of warmth and friendliness that we found here.

We'd heard so much about this place, so planned a fall trip to see for ourselves. Despite the rainy 2 days, there's no mistaking what a beautiful place it is. The entire park is new since 2016-17, so are all the buildings. We stayed in a lodge king with bluff view, large room with gas fireplace, small refrig, huge bathroom, lovely balcony with comfy rockers, excellent for morning coffee. All well appointed and nicely decorated. Could've used more lamp lighting, same switch turned on the entry way light and ceiling light in living area, and it was too bright. Other than that, the lodge is very "lodgy" with a wonderful fireplace in lobby and windows on the world. We had chance to see one of the 2bedroom cabins, and it was adorable, appointed with everything you'd need for one night or an extended stay. The restaurant had a varied and tasty menu, no disappointments in breakfasts or dinners. However, the weather didn't allow their generous outdoor seating, and the indoor dining area is akin to a conference room, so very little ambience, needs some piped in music to help muffle others' conversations, even though tables were nicely covid-spaced. All staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, weather effected our ability to take advantage of the many trails and outdoor activities available, but since we plan multiple return visits, we'll speak to that another time. Plan a visit here, you will be very happy with your decision!
