We stayed in the Bunkhouse and thourghly enjoyed the whole setting. Beautiful views, warm stone fireplace and welcoming hostess and host. The moment we arrived we felt welcome. Come prepared for no phones and no Tv. However Kathy and Jim provide a wide assortment of videos to borrow and a phone if you must make a call. We will come back again.

May, 2014 Memorial Weekend visit. We had a wonderful camping/riding experience at Coldwater. The owners are fabulous, bending over backwards to make certain that your riding and camping experience is excellent. The cooks = Kathy & Dave, well, your eating experience is an Epicurean delight!!!!! Don't plan to diet while in camp...save the dieting for when you get back home as you will not want to miss Kathy and Dave's cooking. Campsites were clean, showers hot, clean, stalls large, convenient and clean, took a look at the cabins, they too were very nice, although we did not stay in them. Trail riding takes your breath away - views over the top gorgeous, trails varied and challenging depending upon which you choose to take. I can't say enough good things about our Coldwater experience. We plan to go back in October and stay in one of the cabins. You cannot beat the pricing...you get lots of bang for your buck and all delivered with a smile and a great attitude. Thank you for the memories Kathy and Dave!!!!!!!!

This the place to stay in Eminence! Coldwater Ranch has luxury Cabins at budget prices!
Kathy Phillips and Dave Somers are wonderful hospitable hosts, at this bucolic out of the way gorgeous resort! If you are a regular traveler to the Ozark National Scenic Riverways this is the place. Super clean cabins well insulated, great A/C and heat.Free firewood. Filtered tap water, and water pressure is fantastic. Brand new sheets, tons of pillows, each cabin is decorated in country style.
3 miles from Main Street and 1 mile tucked into the back woods sits 250 acres of quiet, starlight and scenic tranquility. Dave Somers has refurbished all cabins and cabin 4 was our place for 7 delightful days. (4 over looks a beautiful pond and faces the sunrise). Dog friendly, we brought our two pups that played well with Kathy's doggies. See pics for gorgeous views of Coldwater, outside and in. 5 stars for Coldwater ranch! We will definitely go back to this amazing place!

The cabins are decent at this place, but the owners make it not even worth the stay. One of the owners Kathy was rude from the get go, she made us pay the final balance in cash claiming our credit card didn't work (which it did, we checked), she tried to overcharge us $50 and threatened to kick us out claiming we were a disturbance the whole time we were there. Which, we were there to have fun but we were not overly loud at all! Also her husband came down to our cabin and threatened us as well! It was just overall a bad experience, there was no hospitality at all! Save yourself the headache and stay somewhere where they appreciate your business!

The cabin has to be paid for when you arrive. If your card doesn't work, then cash is the only other alternative. I ran the card twice, and it was declined both times.

The cabins were very nice. The owner was rude and hateful. I will never return here again. I think id rather sleep on the river. We went there bc we were tubing the river and didnt have other options. She threatened to kick us out for no reason several times. She was straight up rude. Btw if she dont want people there that are for the river dont rent it out to them. Anyways I DO NOT recommend staying there.

Coldwater Ranch is a quiet place. It is in the brochure and on the website. You are advised when you make a reservation that quiet will be maintained for the other guests. Arrival at midnight followed by a party is not quiet and will not be allowed.

Great place to stay with or without horses! Great cabins at a reasonable cost! Small kitchen with sink, stove, microwave, & fridge. 2 double beds, futon, Heat/AC unit, toilet, sink, Jacuzzi tub, fire pit, BBQ, etc. We had ran into many folks that had recommended it and now we know why! We will be returning to Eminence with our horses this fall and I look forward to staying at Cold Water Ranch!

Big enough to offer a complete ranch experience with amenities, yet small enough to be relazing and serene. The cabins are very clean, you get two nice sized double beds, a futon, table and chairs, a jacuzzi for two and a full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, coffee pot). They are very, very clean w/ a/c as well. No phone and the TV only will play DVD's, no satellite or cable. So, you can cook in there if you wish, but the meals oferred by Kathy and her family are dellicious. Kathy simply loves to see her guests eat and eat well. It's standard country fare, nothing fancy, but delicious.

If you are bringing your hgorse you will be pleased to see that the stalls are spread around the camp so you're never far away. their own horses available for trail rides are well taken care of and gentle. You will be charmed by the 'down home' feel of the place, with barn cats running around and her charming beagles. Fire wood is provided with each cabin having a fire ring right outside. Even if you were going to Eminence for canoeing only I'd choose to stay here, personally. Great for seasoned horse people as well as families that are first-timers. You won't be disappointed. The only downside is that in my opinion the horseback riding is pricey at $40 an hour per rider. they do have a trailriders package that I didn't do, but you might call and ask. Google 'Coldwater Ranh Eminence' for their website.

I LOVE the great outdoors! This location will take you there! Pet Friendly!

We stayed 4 nights. The beds are really pretty good! The cabin had just been renovated, I think we were some of the first folks to stay in it. We slept in the back half, there is a queen bed in the main cabin area, which would be great for the kids to watch dvd's on Sunday while the parents slept in or another great choice for the person getting up early to go hunting and NOT disturb the rest of the cabin.
I read alot about Kathy the owner, she isn't your bed and breakfast hostess, but she wasn't, by any means, unfriendly either.
You can also choose to eat at the office/store which is a nice break from cooking or grilling (let somebody else do the cooking), but there is a kitchenette w/ necessary tools and gadgets to prepare every meal in your cabin if you choose. There is also a really nice "fire pit" outside each cabin...great fun if you want to roast something (our fire pit worked better than our grill (old and worn out) for hamburgers...a few modifications and the burgers/dogs were perfect)
We took a 2 hour horseback ride,(a little pricey at $40 hr/per person) the horses were manageable with our "limited" horse skills and the terrain and scenery are worth an early morning ride. (we were there in April, so it was a little cool in the morning) We also did some canoeing down the Jack's Fork River. Wow, what a great time! Clear cold water, peace and quiet (except for the occasional interruption of our paddles hitting the side of the canoe). The river is Not groomed so be prepared for trees and boulders and other obstacles to challenge your skills.Windy's canoe rental is just up the road from Coldwater Ranch, and the folks there are friendly and helpful in helping us decide which trip might be the best during the time of year we were there. Great Choice!
Try to stock up on supplies prior to arriving at your cabin, or be prepared for at least a 45 minute drive back to your local Wal-mart. There is a really great gas station/grocery store on 19 as you turn heading towards Coldwater Ranch, pretty much has everything you might need, but is still 20 minutes from the camp.
Coldwater Ranch offers a military discount and is pet friendly, both equally important when planning our agenda. We got in on the "winter special", so pricing was phenomenal.

We really had a good time...no complaints here!

Truly the most special place we've ever found, we cannot wait to return! Our cabin was completely comfortable and adorable with beautiful rustic wood walls, and overlooking a stretch of valley toward the river and the little lake below. Beds were pillow-top perfect, and the quiet and serenity of the ranch made for the most relaxing week my husband and I have ever had. We thoroughly enjoyed the ranch's horses and the trail rides. The best part...we made new friends in owners Dave and Kathy and their assistant, Laury, who all greeted us each day of our stay with big smiles and serving hearts. Wow! The only thing we'd change is that next time we'll ask Kathy to do more of the cooking for us!

We stayed here last year. It was the only place with availability on such short notice and really did not know what to expect. It was a wonderful surprise; very clean cabin with electric, water, a/c, kitchenette, fire pit and BBQ pit. Came back this year and will return next year and possibly this fall. We always came down for the river; but we found so much more in Eminence and we are thinking of seeing the sites in horse back in the autumn.
