Whether you are looking for a relaxing, peaceful retreat or a fun, active family vacation, call Holliday Landing Resort & Marina for your next vacation or getaway! We offer 44 RV spots & 6 cabins. There is a marina in Lake Wappapello that offers daily, monthly or yearly rates for boat slips. The campground is one of the only campgrounds on the lake that offers multi-month reservations on full-hook up sites. All 44 spots have 30 amp / 120 service, 12 of the sites offer full sewer hook-ups. Crappie, catfish, and deer hunting abound in the middle of Mark Twain National forest.
I’ve stayed at Holliday Landing before. Boy it has changed for the better. Everything was clean, firewood and minows and bait. They assisted me putting in my boat. Went fishing and relaxed by the fire. Planning on going back in November to go Crappie fishing. Can’t wait new owners are great.

We had to book a last minute campground to stop and sleep at on our road trip from Texas to Michigan. We searched for clean campgrounds near a body of water and found hardly any in the direction we were headed. Further searching led us to Holliday Landing. I called them around 7pm (after most campgrounds are already closed) to ask about availability. The person on the other line (Josh) couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. We locked down a spot for the night and arrived around 10.30pm... Josh had sent me a message about an hour before our arrival saying they had taken the liberty of starting our campfire for us... wow! Once we arrived, we were greeted by Josh's dad, Carl, who gave us a friendly welcome and brought us a bag of ice. He pointed out the shower houses/bathrooms as well as the swimming pool. We had planned to leave early the next morning to get back on the road, but we couldn't resist staying at the site a bit longer to enjoy it in the day time. Carl kindly offered to let us borrow some of their fishing rods and kayaks. If you're a remote worker and need internet... I had almost full service bars on T-Mobile (AT&T and Verizon work as well). If your cell service does not work at the campground then don't hesitate to ask about wifi — the owners were very kind to let me use their hotspot. On our way out, Carl gave us some homemade soap bars made from goats milk, which keeps the bugs off. This was definitely the cherry on top! Overall, this was a very pleasant experience and we are so glad we decided to stay at Holliday Landing. We will definitely go back to stay next time we are in the area and would highly recommend it to anyone else!…

My mother and I went on short trip for genealogy and to just get away. The cabins are old but clean, and have everything you need. It was so nice and peaceful here and we really enjoyed it. The owners were friendly and accommodating. I hope to come back soon!

We met friends for a quiet retreat. We rented cabins 1&2. Cabins are old, in poor condition but CLEAN. Playground for the kids included exactly 4 swings. Pool is small, outdoor furniture was full of wasps. Owners are super nice and accommodating. Location on the lake is terrible for canoeing due to the distance from the actual lake, but great for motorized boats!

You pay $180 for and 8am to 5pm day-plus the price of the gas you use to fill it up when you’re done-for an old, beat up, falling apart, piece of crap pontoon! The ladder was horrible. The door wouldn’t stay open, so it smashed my mother in law’s finger when she was trying to go up the ladder. The other door on the front, wouldn’t even stay closed. The carpet was stained up, plus so many other issues I could go on and on about. Not to mention this place is completely up the canal and as far away from the actual lake as it possibly could be. THEN, on top of that, he charge us $125 for a “scratched up” propeller that was probably already like that, and most likely he won’t even fix. If you DO end up renting here, check your propeller, it’s supposed to be all black-make sure it is BEFORE you leave. I do not recommend going here for a pontoon, ever. No wonder this was the only place on the lake that had pontoons available, in June, on a Saturday, on such short notice!…

Response from Joshua Hanger, Owner at Holliday Landing Resort & Marina

Hello, As the new owners of the Holliday Landing - I can tell you that you are absolutely right, those boats were in no shape to be rented to anyone when we purchased the property. We agreed with you so much that we sold the boats immediately, they were not fit for service. We will offer pontoon rental again in the future, and hope that even though your first experience was poor - you may give us the opportunity to host you again!

We rented a cabin here. All cabins have 2 beds, full size refrigerator, small stove, microwave. It came fully stocked with dishes, silverware, pot holders, wash cloths, towels, etc. There is even each cabin's Weber charcoal grill available for use. The cabin was clean and quiet, with a nice view of the lake, and is at the end of a long road that dead ends at the lake. The owners were very accommodating, friendly and helpful during our stay, and it's reasonably priced! Remember to bring bath soap, shampoo, paper towels, Ziploc bags, charcoal and plenty of food and beer. If you drink wine, bring an opener too, although the owners were gracious enough to lend us theirs.
