Its always a pleasure sharing history of the Garden House (Queen Anne Victorian, Albert Wells Pettibone Home, circa 1895) and Hannibal with our guests...the season has started with our beautiful flowers already showing their colors...thank you again for your visit and time at breakfast!

We really enjoyed our stay and Chris was a very friendly and informative host. We ate dinner at his restaurant just 2 houses down and then walked to Main St., which was only a short 2 block walk, nice to not have to drive. Super comfortable bed and pillows.

This was our first experience with a bed and breakfast and REALLY enjoyed our stay. The history of the house was so interesting, and the house is beautiful, bed was comfortable, robes to use for showers in the morning were provided and breakfast was excellent. Conversation at the breakfast table was fascinating and we will definitely try and make it...

What a well traveled and most gracious couple you folks are! It was a delightful breakfast conversation we had in the morning as well. I appreciate your kind words and will remember your visit with a smile! Folks from Madison have been amongst the best! Safe travels and don't forget "Steampunk" Labor day weekend, here in Hannibal!

"My wife and I spent a wonderful evening and morning at the Garden House Bed and Breakfast whose host, Chris, made us feel oriented, at home and well informed of history and options to visit. A pleasure visiting with you both at the Garden House. World travelers, as you are, the conversation at breakfast was stimulating! We're glad you had the chance to dine and experience LaBinnah Bistro one block sway and enjoyed it greatly, as well. The International flavor of the Bistro is a welcome addition for folks of casual fine dining persuasion. Your...

We stayed in the Garden House in November and I must say it was yet another great time. We unfortunately had to bring our dogs with us in which the B & B was very accommodating. The owner had told us about a dog park which we did visit quit a few times during our stay. The weather was horrible...

Great stay overnight. Owner knows a great deal of history about the house and the area. He helped us with places to go and eat. Would return in a heartbeat. The bathrooms are shared, but if no one is next-door… You will have a great time here. You all specially enjoy breakfast.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay at the Garden House and Hannibal itself. I have been here 13 years (from Chicago) and still uncover new and interesting facts of our area to share with our guests. Thank you for your sincere comments. Happy travels! Chris

We went to Hannibal for the Fall Festival. The Arts and Crafts booths lined several blocks with wonderful items, not the run of the mill, but unusual and lovely items. An assortment of handmade items, beautifully done, knits, woven items, lovely jewelry, beautiful wooden chairs, lovely dishes and pottery. Food was available and variety of salty and sweet treats. We...

We are glad you had the chance to experience the Garden House and all Hannibal has to offer. B&B's are not Hotel and is someones home they 'share' with the public. Beauty is certainly in the eye of the beholder. Thank you, though, for the great breakfast conversation. From "the well traveled Gentleman who lives on the third floor". Best,...

Hannibal is fraught with very important historical significance. Today it appears to be on the upswing from being slightly run down but with an interesting artist colony. The Garden House was charming and Chris is full of information about the area. He has led a very interesting life and happy to share his experiences. We were sorry his restaurant was...

Thank you for your kind remarks and observations. The Garden House is one of a kind, representing a great part of our history past, a 1895 Queen Anne Victorian. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to be the home's caretaker for the last 13 years to keep the original owners name, Albert Wells Pettibone, alive and well for other...
