We had a fantastic time at Xocotla. As others have mentioned, the property is well designed to provide privacy to all the guests. The setting is beautiful. We stayed in one of the upper units and had a gorgeous view of the ocean. It is nice to be out of the bustle of the village, but it is only a...

Just returned from eight nights in the Xochitlan. It's advertised as the smallest/studio of the units, but there was more than enough space for two to spread out. We travel a lot, and found Xocotla to be one of the most well-appointed accommodations we've ever had the pleasure of staying in. As other reviewers have mentioned, even with a shared...

We just got back from staying a week at Amixtli (the one bedroom apartment), while my husband's son stayed at Xochitlan (the studio apartment). The owners have thought of everything, which made it one of the best places we've ever stayed: 1. The kitchens our outdoors and well equipped, and have lounging areas so you can enjoy the outdoors. The...

I stayed in Xocotla for a week in May, just at the beginning of "off-season." I booked a few months in advance with David who was excellent to work with, answered questions fully and thoughtfully, and encouraged contact. As our arrival to Sayulita approached, David gave us very specific directions on how to reach the house and (as he and...

My husband and I had the pleasure of "exploring" David and Micheal's paradise, as my parents were (and still are) there....We were with my parents upon their arrival, and we were all treated like family immediately. (I might add that both owners were most gracious and kind as my parents had to cancel last year at the last minute for...

Beautiful place, heated pool (pretty important in January), excellent location and great hosts. It would be hard to do better than this.

We found Xocotla on SayulitaLife.com, and right from the beginning it felt right. When we contacted the owners David and Michael, they answered all of our questions and were very courteous. We were going during low season and as we were the only guests that were going to be there they gave us a very good rate. 10 days before...

There are plenty of rentals in Sayulita, so i know it's hard to decide. One comment here said they were afraid to recommend it because they might not be able to get a reservation next time. I agree, I'd love to keep this a secret, but I can't. My sister and I stayed in larger apartment, I believe, the Amixtli....

Tucked into a residential neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of the plaza, Xocotla offered a relaxing retreat with close proximity to the beach & town. Immaculately clean, wonderfully decorated with Mexican arts, crafts, and tile, my Ixpan unit was well appointed with everything I needed: equipped kitchenette with everything including purified water and a cookbook (no microwave, however);...

I echo the words of many other reviews - Sayulita is a wonderful surfing and fishing village that has managed to keep its old-world charm while integrating terrific restaurants, galleries reflecting the best of Mexico and rest of the world. Xocotla is THE perfect place in Sayulita - just up Gringo hill from town and the beach (5 minute walk)...
