It is a great place to stay. We had a wonderful stay in the Villa Serena room. It overlooks the bay and I would highly recommend reserving it. The hotel is great. Unfortunately we could not make it in 2024 and we are offering a $526 transferable credit for $300 to anyone interested. Deerco2@yahoo.com

The view from our place was great, and the room was large. This room has a bathtub on the balcony, but it had no stopper. We requested a stopper. The extremely friendly staff said they would get us one. That never happened. We were there 3 nights, and there were never beach towels available. The very friendly staff said (both in the morning and in the evening) the towels were in the laundry. We asked multiple times and pointed out they’d told us that before. Again they were very friendly but we never got beach towels. We ended up buying some in town. Our room was cleaned once in the three nights we stayed there. All of this would have been more understandable at a lower cost hotel, but our room was between $500-$600 a night. Stay somewhere cheaper for the same experience. The staff is great but apparently have no power to help with ways to make the stay better. Also, I expected bugs, but some people may not. Tons of ants all over the room and a big scorpion in the shower.

Let’s just start by saying that the hotel is great and the staff are just amazing. Would come back. The location of the hotel is right next to the beach and so easy to grab a free surfboard rental and head to the water. The free yoga was definitely a plus as well. See photos of some of the wildlife we saw from our balcony. A negative is that there was 153 stairs to get to our room. If you are active it’s fine just something to note! We had some bugs in our room during our stay mostly millepedes and a cockroach (possibly came up the drain?). Our room was also advertised as a jungle view but half of it was jungle and half construction of some kind. Just felt a little misled with the photos online.

Total disappointment! 🤨 The accommodations (La Costa) were NOT at all like the pictures, much less what was expected. The advertisement described it to be one of the better establishments in Saulita: it wasn’t! It definitely was a waste of our money. The furniture was dated and dirty. You couldn’t even enjoy the view from a sitting position.. you had to stand at the counter in the kitchenette. What was the point of having an ocean view room? The room wasn’t very clean, especially, the bathroom. The worst part were the centipedes, yes, the centipedes that were crawling all over the floors and on the walls. It was disgusting and uncomfortable. So much for relaxing! When it was brought up to the establishment they were very matter of fact, and responded by saying that the grounds are sprayed routinely but they (centipedes) come out seeking moisture. During the night, you had to be careful and ensure to put shoes on for fear of stepping on them. 😬. In addition, our room didn’t have a hair dryer, I asked for one and waited 2 hours to get one, and this was only because my husband had to go downstairs to request for it, again. The rooms didn’t have phones. Finally, music played ALL night long - you couldn’t sleep. 😟 We checked out a day earlier- it wasn’t worth staying the last night when things weren’t even close to what was expected. We lost $ and time. Your best bet is to consider all options. A total disappointment!!! 🙁

The hotel itself is lovely. It's beautifully landscaped and decorated. The rooms are spacious. We did not have an ocean view but our balcony was covered in pulmeria and was quite lovely. What's difficult about this review is that Sayulita is really noisy at night. So, you are better off if you want to sleep, to be as high up on the mountain/hill as you can get. However, if you are up that high, there are so many steep stairs that you have to climb in 90+ degree F heat. We, like many, ended up renting a golf cart for $62 USD a day. Otherwise, we would not have gone out much - just too many stairs (over 100 up to our room).

The staff was great please don’t hold this against them. This was our first time to Sayulita and the location was great. The villa was beautiful. Except for the local wildlife - the caoti. Our Villa was open and despite the warnings we were given we were awaken every night by them. They ran through the Villa. Ultimately our kids were so scared we had to move to two separate open places. The staff was accommodating and offered us a refund however it’s been almost a year and they won’t process it claiming an issue with our wire and charging us fees. The staff was great apologizing and recognizing the Villa should not be open like that. Yes it’s the animals habitat but when you can’t sleep and the kids are scared it’s not ok. I was not going to post because they said they would credit and they have not. Very disappointed.

We stayed in room Olito for our honeymoon for 3 nights. The room: We knew there were going to be a ton of steps to get to our room (158!) so we were prepared. The higher you climb, the better the view. The view from our room was definitely the best in town. The room itself was fine. The bed was super comfortable, and the shower was hot with good pressure. The toilet doesn't have a door or even a wall separating it from the room which was uncomfortable. When it rained outside, it rained in our bathroom. We just called for extra towels, and it dried up quick, no big deal. We knew there would be bugs, geckos, iguanas and Mexican raccoons all over the property and possibly in our room. We got all of the above in our room but honestly, it was a good laugh and a quick fix. No harm, no foul-were in the jungle after all. The property/staff: We had a great experience with the staff. They made check in/out super easy. Provided us with plenty of water bottles and flavored water. Every time we called down about an issue, they came to fix it right away. Get a massage!!!! I got 2 while there. Best massages I had in our 10 days in Mexico. The spa is an air conditioned room near the pool, its perfect. The pool is nice. A few lounge chairs, shade, an infinity edge with a bit of an ocean view. Sayulita: Save yourself the trip and go elsewhere. The beaches are nasty. They're filled with dirt and trash. The water is the same. We ended our trip here a day early to go to Punta Mita which I highly recommend if you want to lay on a nice beach and swim in clear, clean water. The food in Sayulita was pretty good though-gotta give credit where credit is due! Overall, if I were to ever come back to Sayulita I would stay here again.

We really wanted to like this place, we went here for our honeymoon after all. Sayulita is beautiful and this hotel has a lot of potential - beautiful view and pool area, but it just felt like one thing after another went wrong and the service to correct it was lacking. For an expensive “luxury” vacation spot… I feel like we are owed at least a partial refund for our experience. When we first arrived, there was a power outage so we couldn’t stay on the room that we had booked, which was more private. We had to eat dinner in the dark at the restaurant. Then, there is the beach noise. I’d you like sleep, DO NOT book a room with a palapas. We heard the couple next door having sex - very small diving partial wall. The idea of an open air bedroom is romantic, but I did not get a single second of sleep due to the obnoxious reggaeton blasting from the beach. This is in the off season mind you - 10p to 6a!! It was horrible and kind of ruined the trip. I tried to nap during the day, but there was construction that sounded like it was drilling into my head so that didn’t work. There was animal poop in the hallway outside our room for at least a day, multiple staff members walked by it, until we had to asked for it to be cleaned up. The animals from the jungle are cute and I don’t have a problem with them scurrying around, but just leaving poop in the hallway is disgusting. We moved to a room with real doors which was slightly better for the noise, but then we didn’t have running water for a day - no showers, toilet, or sink to wash hands. We kept telling the staff and it took them all day to fix it, and our room smelled like feces. Throughout this experience, we just felt really disappointed. It just seemed like Amor charges $300/night for poorly maintained facilities. We were never warned about the noise, the loss of electricity or water until we complained about it. Like they were hoping we wouldn’t notice? Really wish we would be refunded. Would not recommend.

I am extremely disappointed with this hotel, mainly due to the dishonesty of the management. I cannot recommend it. If you decide to book, be aware that there is an intense stairway to access the rooms, and there are issues with mosquitoes and the maintenance of the gates. During our one-night stay, one of my family members was given the wrong code to the gate, causing damage to the lock. The management promptly brought this to my attention, and we accepted responsibility. However, I was taken aback when they stated that the cost of the damage was $400 and insisted on immediate payment in cash or $478 if paid by card. I requested to speak with the management because the amount seemed excessively high for the damages. Unfortunately, the manager was very rude and demanded payment without considering my concerns. They claimed that the repairman had quoted that amount and assured me that if the actual repair cost was lower, I would be refunded. The whole situation felt questionable, but I reluctantly paid using my card. I repeatedly followed up for a receipt but received no response. Finally, I received a message stating that the actual cost was only $174 and that I would be refunded for the difference. However, despite this assurance, I never received any refund or a receipt. Furthermore, my attempts to contact the management by phone have been unsuccessful as they are never available. Overall, my experience with this hotel and its management was highly disappointing, and I advise others to consider these issues before making a booking.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this hotel! The views are stunning, the staff is super accommodating and friendly and everything is super clean. My 15 and 17 yo’s asked if we could make this an annual trip. The restaurant and bar are delish and we took full advantage of the complimentary paddle and surfboards.
