We booked Casa Viva last minute and when we arrived we weren't quite sure what to make of it. The pool area is immediately beautiful and welcoming with a great view of the amazing beach, but we had the casita near the road. It was nice, but spartan with little in the way of comfortable furniture. The bed is upper...

This was my second stay at Casa Viva and I can't believe how nothing has changed in 8 years. Still beautiful, comfortable, welcoming, and delicious. The whole experience rests on the remarkably talented managers, Elvira and Benito, who provide a welcoming environment. This is the perfect place for a family that values sustainability, ecological richness, and cultural authenticity. Elvira serves...

My friend and I are 14 years old. We got on a plane from Toronto and flew down to Ixtapa airport together to visit my grandparents and my aunt and uncle who were staying at Casa Viva with my little niece and two nephews. It was a great place for our family to gather for a week. My friend and...

Mason, what a great review. I thank you on behalf of Elvira, Benito and Libo. Sounds like you had a great time. I will let you in on a secret, the Sleeping Porch is my favorite room, especially when it's hot as it has the best view and the best breeze. We look forward to having you and your family...

We were joining a group of friends and family that had already booked a hoighty toighty villa about 1 km north in Play Manzanillo. As we like to send our money when we are awake, not asleep, we opted for the more modest Casa Viva. More telling then our review, was the reaction of the rest of the gang when...

Casa Viva is the ultimate Robinson Crusoe experience--all thatched roof palapa structures and no air conditioning make this the ultimate natural beach vacation. Elvira will cook anything you request on order (order in advance) and Benito is always helpful, making sure the pool and hot tub are spotless. It's our favorite place in Troncones!

We stayed at Casa Viva for 5 days 4 nights for a pre-wedding get-together for 20 people. The property was beyond amazing (water front, pool, hottub, vegetation, casitas...etc) and way more beautiful and spacious than we had expected. It's an eco-friendly compound, and they grow all kinds of fruits on site, with which they prepare our meals with. The compound...

clean, beautiful, comfortable, delicious food, on the beach, good surf spots a half hour drive away. You can surf right there but there are scary rocks so the ride is quite a bit shorter than the great spots that you can drive to. walking distance to the local town with a few cafes, restaurants and a couple of shops. Wifi...

I echo all of Casa Viva's positive reviews: the gardens, casitas, and common area are all immaculate and beautifully put together. The staff is wonderful. Elvira is a gem and her food is pure made-from-scratch deliciousness. Troncones is somewhat off the beaten path, which suited us just fine. It's quiet and low-key, but there's plenty to do. We swam, sunned,...

Our stay at Casa Viva was incredible. We traveled there with our three kids 3, 6, & 7. The staff Elvira and Benito are amazing. Elvira is a phenomenal cook. We recommend purchasing meals as there is not a lot around without some planning or walking to access other food options. There is no ATM or grocery in Troncones so...
