Detailed Reviews
Check in was quick and easy. We booked through Hotels.com and used our points to book our room. Our room for one Saturday night was $191 compared to $73 we usually spend during the week when we come visit our college kids. Wow! What a price gouge! $73 is worth it, $191 is not. But we had no other choice, really. The room was clean and AC worked nicely with the exception of it being loud when it was on. The bed was VERY soft. The room has a microwave, refrigerator, and a Keurig with two dark roast pods and two tea packets. The shower pressure was good and they offered Dove soap products.
We tried to purchase a bottle of water at a vending machine at night, but they did not have one. The evening desk clerk was very nice and offered us a glass of water and an apple juice from the kitchen. They do have an indoor cat, Henry that was sitting on the check-in counter. I mention that in case you are allergic to cats!
A free breakfast is offered from 6:30-9:30. This, however was a complete joke. We arrived at 8:15 and only a few tables were occupied. There was absolutely nothing left except for a wrapped bagel, some oranges, apples, cereal with no milk, and waffle mix. There was also no one to be found to restock the items, so that was all you were going to get. If it was restocked, it may have been a nice breakfast, as it looked like there were eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, milk, juices, bread, yogurt, etc. Maybe add a disclaimer first come first served!
If you’re coming to Kirksville to visit your college kids, pay close attention to when, as their prices fluctuate greatly depending on what’s going on in town then. $73/night is reasonable for this hotel, but $191 is ridiculous. It is close to Truman and ATSU.

Room was comfortable but the refrigerator has someone else's food and beverage in it. Not having the fridge cleaned out makes me wonder what else wasn't cleaned in the room before our visit. Hotel rooms should be thoroughly cleaned and checked between guests.

+1
Nice and clean. Old Holiday Inn Exp its worn and showing it's age the wooden building has uneven floors in 2nd floor and probably has settled more on back half than front half. My room had noticeable hump in the floor and you could tell where major repairs had been done to ceiling. Pool has been closed for the last 6 months guessing it was too expensive to replace the ancient equip. Elevator was good. Walls and ceiling were definitely patched in a bunch of place and paint color slightly off. Staff friendly and the hot breakfast eggs, sausage, etc was good. Furniture especially chairs were in good shape. Doors and handrails worn down. Landscaping needs a trim badly and some widoe hvac has rust running down the outside. One tile cracked due to floor curving. Shower head partially clogged. Bed comfy and clean.

Im not even sure where to start. This is one of the best stays we have ever had and considering we travel extensively (sometimes out 100 nights a year), we have lots of stays to compare it to. We are Wyndham Diamond Rewards members and too often hotels ignore the Diamond status or don't know how to provide upgrades. This hotel was EXCELLENT at providing the Diamond upgrades. They upgraded us to a jacuzzi suite, they provided a welcome gift bag with snacks and Patty at the front desk even made sure we had some drinks ON ICE waiting for us in our room. The room was immaculately clean, the furniture in great condition and astecially appealing, they had an in room Keurig coffee maker amply stocked with supplies, as well as a fridge and microwave. They provided plenty of toiletries and towels. They also had lots of easily accessible outlets and usb outlets both by the bed and at the desk. Oh yes, and the desk was a great set up with a comfortable office chair which is important so I can get my work done. The bed was comfortable and they are serving a full hot breakfast with all sorts of additional choices like pastries, and cereal but we opted for the sausage and eggs. The lobby and common areas were clean, neat, and inviting. The staff including the evening desk clerk Sandy and especially Patty, who made sure everything in our room was perfect, were friendly KNOWLEDGEABLE of how to treat a customer and how to administer the Diamond Rewards, and friendly. All in all, not only would I recommend it, I look forward to staying again Thank you Baymont for a great experience.

No towels in room when we checked in at 4:30 (still in dryer, we were told). Toilet leaked water on floor and didn’t flush the three nights we stayed there (hubby had to lift thank lid to stop the running), tv did not work, breakfast sandwich tray (no buffet during pandemic) was empty half hour before breakfast time ended), coffee thermos spurted out half a cup of lukewarm coffee, elevator filthy, bedroom comfortable but pillows were left on a chair when we returned to room for 3rd night. Reported tv and toilet first night, never fixed. Staff didn’t ask how how our stay was, sadly, the hotel has gone through a sharp decline in quality, on top of a closed pool (filled with mattress covers) and closed breakfast room (filled with carpet rolls). Eerie and sad.

The breakfast was terrible. We were told if we wanted to swim we could go across the street to another hotel because their pool didn't work? Our room didn't have towels. Also, if you like to smoke pot, go here because no one seemed to care. You could get high in the hallway for free.

This location was ok. The cost is high for what you get. I travel for work and just usually need a place to sleep and get ready. The building is old and needs repairs. For example, there are holes in the curtains and I have given this location a couple chances. If you need a bed to stay in, then it's just fine. Beware of the continental breakfast though. Breakfast starts at 0630 and most of the food was gone by 0640. Staff said this was because they didnt have enough for how busy it was. The food does not taste good and I got spoiled cream cheese.

It wasn't terrible... Some maintenance issues noted, needs new mattresses. The cost didn't match the value of hotel experience. Hotel has some settling issues that kept our bathroom door from closing etc etc etc... fine for an overnight

Upon arrival I stood and listened for approx. 3 minutes, while the front desk gal had a personal conversation on her cell phone, before she leaned back in the chair and said “are you checking in”.. then into her phone “I gotta go”. Then here is the rest of the list: no pool water (not explained on website), elevator out if order and our room was on the third floor, dead bolt on room door not working, no phone in room to call for assistance when it was realized at 6AM there were NO towels in room (none, zero, nada), short black curly hair in the bathtub (dare I say pubic hair, ugh), tub would not drain during shower, hair dryer out of order (second trip down three flights to get a new dryer) , spider in bathroom and dead spider in my daughters sheets. lights in dining area off or very dim so very uninviting and after everything outlined above, we didn’t risk having a bad breakfast! Most alarming was the exterior door at bottom of the stairs was unsecured with a small rock in the jam…seeing that this morning and knowing the dead bolt was not engaging made me very grateful we were didn’t have an issue with our own safety. Stay at your own risk

This place wasn't too bad, half the room nearly redone. Was watching tv when I saw something it was a mouse saw several and heard them through the night. Talking to other guests there's a lot of them, only recommend this hotel if you like mice everywhere!! Can't you get rid of your pest problem!!
