My husband and I wanted to take a few days trip not too far away for our anniversary. I found this place online and I am glad I did! Since my husband doesn't do stairs well, we stayed in one of the cottages. The room was great! King sized bed,tv, microwave, refrigerator, double jetted tub, wonderful shower. Very relaxing and...

We absolutely loved our stay here. We chose the Queen Anne Suite. A nice, big room with a comfortable bed. We slept very soundly. We took full advantage of the big (enormous) whirlpool tub in the room. The breakfasts were phenomenal. Each day started with some fresh fruit - obviously carefully picked out for ripeness, which makes a real difference-...

We stayed at the Dickey House on our wedding night as an in-between point on our road trip to Eastern Tennessee. I was more than pleased with our accommodations. The room was beautiful and had everything we wanted. We stayed in the Garden Suite and the huge tub with columned entrance was gorgeous and gave the room a very romantic...

Enjoyed our night in this lovely home. Nicely decorated. Interesting history. Our hosts were gracious and welcoming. Wonderful breakfast, lovely to enjoy on the side porch. (Be prepared for the train tracks next door and the sound of a train seeming to come through the room in the middle of the night. All part of the experience.) The host is...

We stayed two nights at this lovely old historic bed and breakfast in the green garden room. Since it is right by the railroad tracks we were wary of trains passing all night...but there werent many. The room was comfortable and we had a private bath just outside our door. A refrigerator with soda and water, tea and coffee maker and...

My wife and I have stayed at the Dickey House several times and can say without question it is one of the nicest, cleanest and most friendly BandB we have every stayed at. And the breakfasts are always first rate. We highly recommend it.

Lovely 1903 home in town! Rooms nicely decorated with classic and antique furnishings. There were many places to sit and relax in this large home. Breakfast was perfect and the German-style apple pancake baked in a small cast-iron skillet was simply delicious! We purchased a Deneen pottery mug featuring this great B&B.

Innkeeper Larry was a delight and exceptionally accommodating throughout our stay. The grand home and grounds are elegant and tastefully and functionally furnished. Breakfast was unique, but more importantly delicious enough to rival brunch at the finest of places. The Dickey House Bed and Breakfast exceeded my expectations!

This trip was a Christmas gift and it was a great one. Charming home, nice folks, great breakfast... that comes with a train at 3AM. The train is a bit of history and certainly no reason not to go and stay... it goes by fast and then you're fast asleep.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Dickey House is a 108 year old unique and gracious Greek Revival mansion that sits on an acre of gardens. The Dickey House is and has been a Bed and Breakfast for the past 27 years. The mansion was built at the turn of the 20th century by Samuel N. Dickey, the poor son of a farmer father and school teacher mother. Self-taught, Mr. Dickey later became a prominent prosecuting attorney in Marshfield and Webster county. The Mansion remained in the family until 1970 when the daughter, Ms. Ella, passed away. As a Springfield area bed and breakfast, this majestic home invites you to step back in time while enjoying all the amenities of modern life. From the first glimpse of this massive mansion, with its four, three foot diameter hand-made columns, Widow's Walk and new beveled glass front entrance, you feel that you have touched an era that has long since passed. The Mansion has been renovated and updated in 2000 and again in 2014 and has an upscale look and feel with a blend of the old and new. ... more   less
