Already on arrival we were warmly welcomed directly on the jetty by our butler Aalam and taken directly to our beach villa with pool.
We felt this kindness the whole 2 weeks, not only from Aalam, but also from the entire staff, whether at the bar, in the restaurant or during encounters with gardeners and housekeeping.
Both the Villa and the entire resort were very clean and everything very well maintained. Only the decor could be a little brighter, here you can still feel the taste from the original time of the plant.
The a la carte restaurants were very tasty, only the buffet restaurant was closed in the evening.
The dive center is also very neat, even with only 3 divers 2 guides went into the water. And I have never had a dive boat with Wi-Fi, the connection better than on some German motorways. Sure, you don't really need to now.
For snorkeling the island is not so well suited, the reef edge is already quite a bit away from the beach and in the lagoon there is not so much to see.
Only the mosquitoes are a bit annoying, although spraying was done several times a week.

We're a family of 2 adults and 3 children age 14, 8 and 8 and we returned home on 4 August following a fabulous 12 night holiday on Sun Siyam Iru Fushi.
Having been to both SIYAM WORLD and SUN SIYAM IRU FUSHI, I am very glad that I visited Iru Fushi after I visited Siyam World, because in my opinion Iru Fushi is superior. It never feels crowded (on Siyam World chairs by the pools are being reserved from 6am!!), it's smaller, the rooms and the bathrooms are much nicer and larger, the food is better, the ice cream choices are broader and on Iru Fushi your butler makes sure you want for nothing. The only thing Siyam World has is a waterpark and after 2 or 3 visits our kids were over it.
So here's a summary of our amazing Iru Fushi holiday.
ARRIVAL AT MALE: We travelled from London Heathrow via Doha and arrived on the 08:25 Qatar Airways flight. Our luggage came off quickly, we were greeted with a warm smile and driven to the sea plane terminal. We didn't go to the Sun Siyam lounge as the sea plane was almost ready to depart. We waited in the lobby of the terminal and then we were taken to the departure gate. By 10:15am we were on board the sea plane and ready to depart, very slick!
SEA PLANE TRANSFER: The sea plan took us direct from Male to Iru Fushi in about 40 minutes. All your luggage is weighed (hand and hold luggage) and the weight is amalgamated. Your allowance is 25kg per person. We were nowhere near that with our 4 small/medium cases and hand luggage. The sea plane takes a maximum of 15 and it's relatively loud (compared to a regular plane), but they offer you ear plugs if you wish. The views are breathtaking. The 3 man crew were great and you can see directly into the cockpit during the flight. There are 2 fans at the front of the cabin which operate when the plane is moving, but we took hand held ones too. The sea plane takes you directly to the island jetty where you are welcomed with drums, a cold towel and a white flower for the lady's hair. You meet your butler and are then escorted to the Waters Edge bar where you are offered drinks, juice or sparking wine, though my children all ordered milkshakes, which are made of real ice cream and arrived promptly. We stayed for 12 nights on an All Inclusive basis.
ROOM: We were in a Pool Beach Villa, room 503. There are only 5 of these type of rooms, numbers 501, 502, 503, 504 and 505. They have the pool in the back garden rather than the front, so it feels more like a sanctuary. Our children loved the pool and the room was fabulous. A side gate directly into the garden (with a key-code) would make it completely perfect. In the room red and white wine is part of the All Inclusive package (the Rose wine provided is not). It was nice to see a variety of red and white wines arriving as we finished our bottles and not the same wine each time - a nice touch. You're also greeted with a fridge full of soft drinks and a box of biscuits and chocolates. These rooms are really well situated right next to the No Mistake Bar and the Adult pool. There are spacious sun loungers near the No Mistake bar which are rarely occupied and we spent many days there. We were also only a 10 minute walk down the beach to the water sports, boutiques, the main Iru restaurant, kids club and the Waters Edge bar. In between rooms 503 and 504 on the beach are 2 cute Iru Fushi chairs, great for a picture.
BEACH: When we arrived it was quite windy and the sea was very choppy, which I think resulted in a lot of shells and corral being washed up and making the first few steps into the sea a bit prickly, though the kids didn't mind it too much even without their beach shoes. The beach is white powdery sand so no shoes required. You can walk around the edge of the island in about 45 mins, though in some areas on the sunrise side (about 5pm we were wading thigh deep in water to get by). The beach on the sunset side of the island, where we stayed was nicer, in my opinion, than the sunrise side.
RESTAURANTS: We pre-booked these on the app months before we arrived. The app is easy to use for all bookings and our reference number was the same as the BA holiday number which may it easy. We didn't eat in Iru (the buffet) for dinner, but we did eat breakfast and lunch there. The food was always fresh with lots of choice. Fresh eggs, fruit cut up to order and the famous Doughnut Wall! and for lunch pasta and noodle made to order as well as delicious curry. AND ice cream, even available at breakfast!
- TRIO - We ate there 3 times, this was one of our favourites, particularly the beef cheek parpadelle and the chocolate fondant. - BAMBOO - This was another favourite and we again ate here 3 times. On the last night the management kindly gifted us a bottle of champagne to accompany our dinner. Very unexpected and a lovely touch. - TASTE of INDIA - Amazing food, my children loved the butter chicken and the lamb dishes just melted in your mouth. - FLAVOURS - This is the only restaurant on the sunrise side. The food was delicious, especially the desserts. This is also where they hold the wine tasting (not to be missed, you can book this in advance through the app by going to 'what's on' currently and then when you click to book it will bring up dates relevant to your stay). - ISLANDERS GRILL - Still nice, but perhaps our least favourite as I don't eat fish and it's quite prevalent on the menu. - LA CREMERIA - Friendly service and lovely ice cream choices served in cups or cones.
EXCURSIONS ETC: We booked in advance for the following which were all part of the All Inclusive package: - GOLDEN HOUR CRUISE - you cruise round the island for an hour which is very enjoyable. The crew are polite and knowledgeable. It's a nice trip regardless of whether or not there's a sunset! - HYDRO POOL - there's a separate area of the spa which has hot and cold pools as well as a steam room and sauna. All 5 of us booked it for an hour during our stay and it was lovely, very private. - BEACH YOGA - this takes place just before sunset on the beach near Trio. My wife and daughter did it and said it was very enjoyable. - TENNIS - We booked a court for an hour for the 5 of us, though the children seemed more interested in playing with a kitten which was watching us. All you need is trainers, everything else is provided. We booked this the day before through our butler. - WINE TASTING - This was great. You taste 4 different wines (generous sized glasses) with cheese pairings. This is not to be missed. The two sommeliers who hosted this are really friendly and knowledgeable. - LAGOON AEROBICS - This was a lot of fun and the instructor was in the water with us, rather than staying on the sand. - GUIDED SNORKELLING TO NIMO PARK - You can borrow all the equipment you need from the Dive Centre, they have sizes to fit everyone. It was quite dull and choppy on our trip, but you can go back anytime on your own from the dive peer. Personally I saw more interesting fish if you head for the house reef instead (swim right rather than left, following the signs). - INTRODUCTION TO PILATES - This takes place in the morning at the spa and my wife said he instructor was the same lady who did the lagoon aerobics and the beach yoga. She's great! - WATER SPORTS - we booked the banana ride and the fun tube ride ($51 per person) from the water sports centre. Our kids really enjoyed them both. We also used the kayaks and the paddle boards during our stay. The team at the water sports centre are really helpful and friendly. They also accompany you on the golden hour cruise alongside the entertainment team. - PHOTOGRAPHY SHOOT - I would thoroughly recommend the 10 minute free photography shoot. We booked for 10am so we had an early breakfast and then got ready. You get one free digital photo of your choice and then others are $20 each. We came home with 7 lovely ones. - BEACH SLIDE and JUMP - My children loved these and spent hours sliding and jumping into the sea.
We didn't do the local island experience tour.
SPA: As well as the Hydro Pool, my wife and daughter had manicures, pedicures and facials at the spa during our stay. It's beautiful place, my wife said the treatments were amazing, the staff and friendly and chatty, so don't miss out.
KIDS CLUB: This is an excellent kids club. They do beach activities as well as activities within the kids club itself. They also do free henna tattoos at the Manager's cocktail party (white night) as well as on the beach some days during kids club, along with face painting. You can book your child onto the banana boat for $19 if they are in kids club. Whilst the water sports team don't go as fast as when you book this independently, it's well worth it and my younger children really enjoyed it.
MANGERS COCKTAIL PARTY (White Night): This is a must for Saturday sunset. They have drinks and lovely canapés and all of the management team are there to mingle and chat with guests. We got to hear from so many of them, some who had stayed on the island for upkeep purposed during covid and it's clear they enjoy working together on the island based on how long they have stayed with this company.
OUR BUTLER NAVEEN: We were greeted with a smile on arrival and nothing was too much for him to arrange, all the way through to coming to collect us at 5am on the day of departure. Here's just some of the support and assistance that we had from Naveen during our stay:
- A surprise 20th Wedding Anniversary cake on our first night as well as a decorated bed and a bubble bath (which the kids promptly jumped in!) and we had only briefly mentioned at checkin that we had recently celebrated 20 years of marriage but were unable to go away to celebrate at the time because it was term time for the children. - Changing our bookings or making additional bookings - anything we needed and were unable to easily do on the app (and you can do most things yourself) was sorted in a matter of minutes following a quick WhatsApp message to Naveen. - Every morning we received a WhatsApp message which summarised our itinerary for the day, which was brilliant and also meant we didn't miss out on anything. - There was no beach bag in our room when we arrived but one was dropped off the next day. - One of the children's beds was hard so the mattress was promptly changed as was our pillows when we chose alternatives from the pillow menu. - Quickly sorting our electricity and the pool pump when they stopped working. - Being available for assistance (almost) at any time!
I don't have many suggestions to improve Iru Fushi, but one that I didn't mention to the management team was to offer a shorter, 2-3 hour trip to Siyam World to visit the waterpark (which is only a short boat ride away) for a lower price. Currently they offer a 5 hour trip including lunch for $115 each, which just felt too long and too expensive and we didn't want to go there fore lunch, given we'd visited before.
I'd definitely go back to Iru Fushi again without hesitation and we preferred this to Siyam World. We've visited many top hotels across the world and this is up there with the best.
If you're considering booking, you should - you won't be disappointed in my opinion.

This holiday experience in the Maldives was undoubtedly one of the most memorable trips of my life. The service was superb and I felt unrivalled hospitality from the moment I set foot on the island. Rooms are spacious and bright, elegantly decorated and every detail reveals sophistication and comfort. On the private beach, the fine white sand and crystal clear waters make it feel like paradise. The dining is equally impressive, evoking both authentic Maldivian and international cuisine. In addition, the on-water activities and spa services offered by the hotel add endless pleasure to my holiday. Overall, everything at this hotel exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it to everyone looking for the perfect holiday experience.

We came from Shanghai, China, and came to Irufushi Island in the Maldives. We were worried that we would have a bad experience because we were not proficient in English. The beautiful housekeeper Miss Thea made us completely relaxed. No matter what we needed, she would come at our call. No matter what we asked, she would explain carefully and arrange quickly. In terms of food and beverage, we thought we would not be used to it with Chinese stomachs, but Irufushi was amazing. Not only did they have Chinese food, but they also had Chinese chefs serving in restaurants outside. They listened to our needs, and the food from other countries was also very delicious. The cleaning staff in the room cleaned and replenished the food twice a day, making our stay very comfortable. Walking in every corner of Irufushi Island, every employee would greet us warmly, making us feel like spring breeze. Finally, I still want to thank Miss Thea. From the first second of landing on the island to leaving the island, as long as we had a need, she would appear by our side at the first time to help us solve it. This trip would not be so perfect without Thea! Thanks again to Miss Thea, and to every employee at Irufushi. We will come again if we have the chance!

My husband and I just returned from a 10 night stay at Sun Siam Iru Fushi we stayed in a deluxe beach villa with pool on an all inclusive basis . Firstly I’ll list the pros Food in all restaurants was amazing Every member of staff were fantastic all went above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible The beach outside our room was lovely apart from a lot of coral that was swept onto it which made getting in & out of sea quite difficult but they did work hard to try & clear it Now unfortunately I’ll list the cons Our room was very tired and dated scuffed furniture stained toilet & toilet seat as was the hot tub We had quite a lot of rain during our stay which resulted in 2 nights being woken up with rain pouring in from roof . First occasion reception sent over maintenance within 5 minutes of us reporting it & carried out a repair . Second time it happened after reporting it to reception nothing happened then our cleaner reported it for us again nothing happened we then spoke to our butler who reported it & finally they sent someone over . not sure if they finally sorted the problem as for the rest of our stay there was no rain Our room was opposite the recycling plant which was quite loud & also often give off a really bad smell sometimes like raw sewage The island has a really big issue with mosquitoes & I mean really bad we were bit from head to toe despite using repellent constantly So to sum up if you looking for a five star resort in my opinion this is not one I came home feeling cheated was expecting paradise but it fell very short of that

Great resort ❤️! Sun Siyam Iru Fushi will forever remain in our memories as the best days spent! We vacationed with our family: 2 adults + 2 children. Everyone was delighted! The first thing I want to note is the excellent service. The entire staff is so friendly that the smile never leaves your face). Everyone tries to make your stay comfortable and unforgettable! Restaurant: everything is delicious! The chefs try to please the guest 100%, the service is always friendly and helpful waiters and hostesses, the a la cart restaurants are one better than the other. Our favorites were Bamboo and Islander’s grill. Rooms: yes, the rooms are not new, but spacious and comfortable. We stayed in both a beach villa and a water villa. Everywhere is good in its own way. But I liked the beach villa more - my own cabana with a beach, shower and outdoor jacuzzi ❤️. The room cleaning is impeccable: towels are changed 2 times a day, the beds are made in the morning, they come in the evening and prepare your room for bed. Don't skimp on tips, the guys try to please and make your stay even more comfortable. The resort area is quite large and green, the best part is that there is sand everywhere and you can spend your entire vacation barefoot 😍 There are beautiful reefs 🪸 with fish 🐟 🐠, it is especially close to the water villa, the children went straight from their room to snorkel every day. We especially admired the butler system - you are assigned a personal assistant who solves all your questions. We had Mariyam and Corinne ❤️ - professionals and simply wonderful people! They helped with any of our requests and were in touch 24/7. I can safely say that our vacation was organized down to the smallest detail and remained unforgettable 🥰! Iru Fushi - we will definitely be back ❤️❤️❤️

The resort is well kept but is starting to need maintenance, especially the over water areas. The restaurants are at a sufficient level, the Italian Trio serves the famous alfredo pasta, kindly remove it from the menu: it is not an Italian dish. Buffet breakfast in the main restaurant just enough tremendous heat, melted cheeses, lukewarm drinks. Karino the Grill on the beach and the terrace of the French restaurant but the cuisine is terrible. The service in general is not bad but the assistance of the butler Mariyan was non-existent: abandoned even upon departure (not a good business card). The atoll's beaches are decent but there are better places. Very poor coral reef. Discreet SPA service. Few deckchairs and always occupied. 7 times in the Maldives, trust me, choose something else. Frequented not only by many Italians but also by decidedly loud and rude Russians and Asians. Very poor price/quality.

We have just returned from 8 nights at Iru Fushi and have had an amazing time, the resort exceeded all our expectations. We stayed in a Water Villa and loved the room with the view of the clear sea and the sea life with the steps leading down to the sea.
Our butler Nasif was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Our room was serviced twice a day, the mini bar was stocked up and fresh water was provided every day.
The food was outstanding! The choice of food in the Iru restaurant was amazing. We ate here for Breakfast and Lunch and booked in the other restaurants on the Island for Dinner.
All the staff were very helpful and always greeted you with a smile. You felt as though nothing was too much trouble.
We found the Iru Fushi app really useful to make the restaurant reservations.
The only shoes you needed were a pair of flip flops to walk on the wooden path to the water villa as it could get hot during the day, but everywhere else you could go bare foot.
It was a wonderful holiday and would recommend Iru Fushi to anyone wanting to visit the Maldives!

We have returned from a 10 night stay at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi. It was our first visit to the Maldives with 3 children aged 16/14/12 & we were unsure what to expect. However we needn't have worried at all. The SSIF Resort is absolutely 100% a wonderful & beautiful place to spend your holiday with loved ones. The transfers to the sea plane & the lounge at Male airport are very organised & give you a chance to have some refreshments & freshen up after the 10 hour flight from Heathrow.
Our Butler: As we stepped off the Sea plane which is a 45 minute journey, we were greeted by our wonderful butler Shahudhaan (Shahu). Shahu checked us in swiftly whilst having a welcome drink overlooking the ocean. We were soon in our room, where we met head of housekeeping who was very kind & we met Faisal later, our room attendant who did an excellent job in the beach villa, nothing was too much trouble. All the staff we encountered at the resort are very kind & polite, nothing.g is too much trouble. This is what sets this place apart from other hotels/resorts. Thank you Shahu for sorting everything for us speedily & efficiently we will not forget your hospitality.
Food: The food at SSIF is brilliant. We were on an all inclusive package. The Iru buffet has a wide range of different food types to cater for all food types. Being a vegetarian, I especially liked the Indian food choices such as fresh dosas made by Min & fresh Puris & daals. Abigvariety of food to select from. All the staff are very hardworking & polite. The restaurants which can be booked through the app prior to arrival is very easy , we visited them all & were not disappointed. Our favourite restaurant was the taste of India where the food was made to an excellent standard & all the hardworking staff there deserve a special Thank-you for making our last night very special asit was our dons birthday. Special thanks to head chef Vivek & all team there , Thank-you to Silva our waiter who went out his way to make the evening so special for us. The other restaurants included Trio the Italian, bamboo the Vietnamese & Flavours the French restaurant that were all wonderful.
Pool: The pools are great for kids & adults alike. The pool bar menu for drinks & food is excellent & has a wide range. Thank-you to Shanaz & Silva at Fluid Pool for looking after us so well. The Reflection Pool is for adults only 16 & over & is more quiet.

Great hotel for family vacations. We were with 2 children, 2 and 6 years old in November, liked almost everything - the views are huge, beautiful open-air bathroom, beach flour, clean sea with gentle entrance. The main restaurant is average in food, but all a la carte (especially French and Italian) are very good, at the level of good Moscow. Free alcohol is good, cocktails are delicious. We had a pitchfork without a swimming pool, and one of the best beaches on the island in my opinion (fork 331). The only downside to this location is the bar is almost across the street and the music is up to 00.00, it can be uncomfortable with babies. The service is wonderful, everything is done very quickly, everyone is friendly and friendly. Meet the drums, Butler explains everything, which is very nice) I recommend a good five.

There is 1 adults only bar, Reflections, which is very grown up. The children are kept away from it. We have also found that the restaurants (non-buffet) are good for couples, although sometimes children will be there. A lot of families take their kids to the buffett.

We happened to download the app before we left the UK, although you can only see out to about a week in the future. We found it useful to book restaurants, but its not really required. Great to show you what's on and help with your itinerary

Mini-bar is filled once a day. Has wine and beers included as well as soft drinks. I can't remember the brands but the wines we chose were good as were the cocktails.
Typically, it's around >60 USD per adult without drinks. I would always suggest at least half board as you have no choice and you don't want to resent the costs at the end, plus there is +++ taxes.
There are more places to choose from in the Iru-fushi area.
