The staff is very friendly, but the room was old, outdated, and dirty. The carpets in the room, corridor and hallways were filthy and stained. Even the bench in the room was heavily stained. I’m not sure if the new thing is to turn the sheets inside out to simply save money but I’ve noticed this in two other hotels. There was a spider on the toilet and the bathroom shower didn’t appear clean. Although there is a card on the table saying if you’re unhappy with the cleaning to contact them, cleaning the glass on the windows should be the first thing that is addressed as you notice the window and light when you enter the room. I felt dirty and grungy in this hotel. The restaurant staff were very friendly as well. The food was ok for a continental breakfast.
Nice hotel. Neat, clean, and well maintained. The location is very handy to all the other businesses in poplar bluff, so it is easy to grab a bite to eat close by. The staff is friendly and helpful, check in process was smooth and efficient. Will stay again when in the area.
We frequently stay at Holiday Inns when we travel and are usually met with welcoming staff. On Saturday afternoon we walked in and three ladies were behind the front desk. One was sitting down in the corner watching a video on her phone, one was texting and the one that helped us was less than friendly. No hello, welcome, thank you or anything. She asked for our names and a credit card and handed us our room key. Maybe she was having a rough day. I just feel that the Holiday Inn brand was misrepresented at this location. Hospitable attitudes, or a lack thereof, make a lasting impression
Here to see my sister in the hospital, so very emotional. Service and room were great. So nice to have fridge and microwave. Plus great restaurant/bar in lobby. Castellos food was wonderful! Had cannelloni-yum! And the side salad was great. Grilled bacon wrapped shrimp with maple bourbon sauce the last night. Made a stressful trip a little bit better. And plus the big welcoming smile from Jaycee all three nights and Rebecca my last night, which I really appreciated! I will never stay anywhere else in Poplar Bluff!
I am a service member. I booked a hotel room at this hotel thru official military travel sources for work purposes, and this hotel refuses to honor the rates. They increased the rate without my knowledge just so they could get an extra few bucks from the government. What they did was shady and if you appreciate the military and there service members I would recommend never staying at this hotel as they are anti-military.
The hotel staff who checked me in was very friendly. The room was clean and a good size for our family of 4. We enjoyed the pool along with a few other families. The town was bigger than expected and we had many options for dinner. We decided on Double Dogs near the hotel and were not disappointed! We would stay here again.
Friendly, helpful staff -Clean rooms great beds and a restaurant attached to the hotel. Our room was large with a king size bed, couch in a sitting area and also a small alcove with table and four chairs to eat. Also in the alcove is a wall mounted flat screen tv beside the tv in the sleeping area. Average bathroom size. We were located near the elevator but the room was very quiet - A desk and chair is also in the room.
This Holiday in was clean and coffee, with refrig in room. The bed cozy and comfortable. The down side- the thin wall and ceilings. We could hear people’s voices and hear them walking above us. Plus my quiet bubble bath was not so quiet as the bathroom fan below us so loud. The last holiday inn express we stayed at was much quieter.
Found the hotel to be of newer built with an adjoining restaurant. It is set up to handle large meetings and groups which would be great. During our multi-day late week stay there were no such groups which made for a very enjoyable experience. There is a nice indoor pool and separate exercise area. Housekeeping staff were friendly and accommodating. Check-in was efficient by Tara and she provided information on local events and dining. Breakfast is provided via coupon to the adjoining full-service restaurant. Such offers choice of five prepared meals or access to buffet items consisting of link sausage, biscuits, gravel, items for egg omelet and waffles - coffee provided.
Nice facility, friendly staff, decent rate. Restaurant failed to bring all of my food at dinner on 8/8/19. To compensate, the waitress discounted my meal by 10%. As a hotel guest I was entitled to a 10% discount anyway. Restaurant advertises a 5:30AM start, but didn't open then on 8/9/19, Waited until 6:10AM and gave up. Returned my free breakfast coupon to the front desk. It's a nice facility, but not a place to stay if your hungry.
