Detailed Reviews
I was traveling for personal reasons and we decided to drive until we got tired. I was looking for hotels around this area and the pictures of Bullwinkles caught my eye. I would’ve rated this place 5 stars however, the walls are super thin and I could hear microwave doors shutting, couples talking until 3am, walking around, slamming doors upstairs, and a very loud truck spinning out in the parking lot. Needless to say I was awake at 5 am when people thought it was necessary to yell outside of our room. The beds are comfortable and clean and the room is rustic! No bugs in our room. Pets are not allowed and neither is partying and I could see why.
The bar is a nice touch and I have to say I’ll most likely be returning! My husband and I had a bbq pulled pork sandwich with chips and it was delicious! Had a few cold ones and spent some time on their older casino style games and actually won a substantial amount off of $20! The waitress was super polite and professional, even though she was pretty busy. I’d have to say I’d stay at this location again simply due to the hospitality in the bar.

Our stay at Bullwinkles Lodge was enjoyable. Ann, the office staff, was very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable, the room was spotless.
The location was about 10 minutes from The Camp at Lake Wappapello, which is where we wanted to go for activities. While we intended to be closer, the distance made our stay peaceful and still relatively close to the lake.
We would definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful surprise we discovered in this too cute lodge. My family came from Springfield to meet up here; it was half way for both of us. My grandchildren LOVED this place. Ruby the Manager was wonderful to deal with as well as the entire staff. We stayed in the cabin and one of the rooms. Everything was perfect for a Thanksgiving celebration. Not to mention it was nice to have the pub on property so the girls could sneak away for a quick lunch while the kiddos played with their Dad and Grandpa. Will definitely be returning to this hidden gem and see many future memories made here. Thank you Ruby and your staff for making our stay wonderful.

We were stuck on the 2nd floor in a smoking room. So much for requesting a delux king room on first floor, non-smoking. The room smelled, the office smelled, and the breakfast was a joke. We were woken up multiple times last night by people beating on the walls. It was crazy. The room was large but a/c unit couldnt keep up. It was awful.

Stayed in the RV park. The hotel may be OK but the RV park is a dump. There are permanent units that are falling apart, dog poop on the ground in the sites they rent out, trees need trimming (or removal) for unobstructed access to several sites. Cover over the electrical panel was broken. But the water worked, got the power on and was able to use the sewer. So for an emergency overnight stop this RV park would work. But you wouldn't want to stay any longer than you have to.

We happened upon this motel on our last night of vacation, and I'm glad we did. The rooms are large and very clean. We had a smoking room that didn't have "that smell". The staff is helpful and friendly, and the lounge is a really cool and relaxing place to have a few drinks. I highly recommend Bullwinkles!

Warmly greeted by desk clerk who was extremely personable and competent . Nice, clean room with very adequate amenities. Comfortable beds. Got a great night’s rest. Breakfast was included in the price. Couldn’t have asked for anything more.

We didn't have kleenex or any extra rolls of toilet paper. I thought that was strange since I booked for 2 nights.
It's in a lovely location, the staff were friendly & accommodating. I loved the room itself. The continental breakfast was wonderful.

The wife and I stopped by the night of 8-1-14 late. The desk clerk said he was starting that night, had no support and took a long time to process us and others waiting.
First impressions were that the property looked fairly good, but the entrance was very poorly marked, almost impossible to see at night.
Upon entering the room, it at first looked pretty good. Seemed clean and didn't smell. Carpet was spotted and looked soiled, it needed replacing. Then I killed a bug, then another bug, mostly flying bugs, but some crawling bugs. Many came in when the door was opened because there was a strong outside light right above the door to our room. Open the door for a few seconds and bugs fly in! The small lake next to the hotel was a bug factory, this was all poor planning.
But after killing many bugs, and trying to sleep, it was impossible because bugs kept getting in my eyes, ears, mouth, nose.
Tried sleeping in my car but if I opened a window, the car filled with mosquitoes. The wife and I decided driving all night home was better than sleeping at this place. Desk person refused to help, move us or give a refund.
Upon leaving the room we noticed a complementary can of bug killing spray. This would not have helped us because who wants to sleep in a room just filled with bug spray? So they knew about the problem in advance.
We drove home and were glad not to have to spend the night at Bullwinkles.

I stayed at the Bullwinkle Lodge while working in the area. While there, I discovered that a good friend had passed and I would need to leave 2 days early for the funeral. I talked to the manager and told him I would need to leave early. He said no problem. My last night there, I went to the office for my refund. I was told that had I paid with a credit card, they could refund my card but since I had paid with cash, I would not get a refund. I asked to speak with the manager and was given a card with a number to call. I could not get an answer at that number. I went outside to call my wife. During this time the worker called the manager and told him I was irate with her and she didn’t want me back in the office.
The manager came to the motel and started berating me for speaking to a woman that way. I never used any foul language and yes it upset me when she said no refund but I went outside and was pacing while I talked to my wife.
After a little bit the manager came to my room and grudgingly gave me my refund, yelling the whole time.
On top of all of this the last two days I was there, the water was brown. I had to use bottled water to brush my teeth. Not sure how safe the water is.

i really could not tell u. I always use my Disney card for everything to get the rewards for our Florida trips in the fall. Best bet would be to call them. Or just get the cash before u go.
