I’m not sure how many folks on TA even read reviews about hotel chains in the USA so I’ll try and keep this short and simple. This hotel is going through a much-needed renovation. Even the lobby was loaded with more than a dozen new room air unit boxes. I’m just not sure how much that has affected the tacky hotel entrance where the cigarette butts were all lined up in the cement cracks and one ol’ boy in a tank top was sitting by the sliding glass door, smoking and probably fixin’ to add to the aforementioned butt collection!

The hotel clerk was polite and friendly and the room and bed were comfortable but the sink stopper did not function at all which for most folks is no big deal unless you wear hard contact lenses and must remove them each evening. Finally, I was afraid for my newer car sides as the parking lot is small and the slots narrow which is not a problem for a Camry but it appears in this part of southern Missouri most folks drive an oversized SUV or enlarged pickup truck. There were also quite a number of working men standing around drinking and smoking in the same parking lot. If I had a family I would’ve quickly left. My suggestion? Wait another 6-9 months and by that time maybe the management will have noticed the butt collection and parking lot guys will have moved on to another parking lot!

Greated by a very pleasant clerk. The hotel is very clean and fresh. We had king jacuzzi room and there was a comfortable sitting area with 2 chairs and couch and ceiling fan. Room was very clean and inviting. The jacuzzi needs some caulking redone and a dead bug was sitting there. (See picture)
The bathroom ceiling was well taken care of... in many hotels we have found the opposite.
We never could get on the internet and tried repeatedly.
Breakfast was not much and I follow Keto and there was nothing I could eat.
The door looked tacky because some notice had been taken off.
We have stayed here before and will again.

This was our first trip out of KY since the pandemic started. It was great to find a place so welcoming and ready for guests. The afternoon we arrived the lady at the desk was able to recommend a restaurant for us which was very good. Best place we stayed our whole trip. Even though they did not have their traditional breakfast yet b/c of pandemic restriction they had prepackaged foods and great coffee.

I am usually more than pleased with the Comfort Inn chain. However, my family and I stopped at this hotel for one night and I was incredibly disappointed. We were assigned a room on the second floor, and, as per our custom, before we get settled our luggage goes into the bathroom and I or my husband make a tour of the bedding. My spouse travels a lot in his line of work and he has seen it all. I pulled back the bedding (which looked like it had already been slept in and the linens had not been changed) and there was a huge brown black stain on the mattress pad on one bed close to the pillows, and on the other pad, a coffee stain. I went downstairs to ask the clerk for a change of room and we were given the room across the hall. Room across the hall was marginally better. However, the door handle was loose. I asked the desk clerk if there were laundry facilities and there were BUT the heating element was out in the dryer. By this time I was so tired I took our barely dried clothes out and simply hung them in our room and jacked the heat up.

During these trying times, I do my best to be understanding but the above mentioned issues shouldn't be an issue.

The evening shift associate, Mike was helpful.

This is a very nice hotel that is being neglected. Our room was not properly cleaned, having crumbs of food from the last customer on the nightstand and on the floor that were being fed on by ants. The bathtub had a constant stream of water dripping, and I don't think the sheets had been changed. For the breakfast, they only had a fraction of what they advertised on the sign sitting on the front counter, and many of the items were nearly empty or were empty at 7:00 in the morning. I have stayed in many comfort inns and been very happy. This one has changed my mind.

The room itself was just so so. The water dripped in the tub. And the place was full of dogs. My wife and I had some work in Poplar Bluff and stayed overnight rather than going home and coming back in the morning. We should have got an inkling that something was wrong when we checked in and they said we had requested a pet room. We had not. No big deal we thought. We got in pretty late and didn't really get to sleep until 1 or so and so were looking forward to sleeping in. Nope. About 7 AM or so we were woken up by incessant barking coming from the next room. It was apparent there was nobody in the room but the dog. I called down to the desk and told them that we had been woken up by a barking dog. They said there was nothing they could do about it.
Since we were up we went down for breakfast. Guess what? Another dog IN THE food area. Nothing like fur and dog slobber to start of off the day. While we were eating yet another lady with a dog was at the front desk. We were startled by a series of loud barks when THIS dog saw some kids walk in. The doggies "momma" said "Oh she just loves kids that's why she's barking". All in all in that small amount of time we were there we saw at least 4 separate dogs. The kicker was that when we returned to our room we saw that there were dog rooms on both sides of our room.
I like dogs. But I don't like dogs in hotels. I don't like dogs in eating areas. And I surely don't like getting woke up by barking dogs in a hotel. Apparently Comfort Inn has very lax dog policies. If this is normal I'm never going to stay there again. I could sleep in a kennel for a lot less than the 100 bucks I spent here.

Started out not great in room 105 which had a not so good pet odor and also needed a fair amount of TCL and cleaning. But we were taken care of and moved to room 110 which was much better. Cold, quiet AC. Decent towels, good water pressure in the shower. Saw a number of dogs at this hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast had eggs and sausage, fruit, yogurt, waffles, a couple of bread options, juice, coffee. I would stay again.

Not a typical Comfort Inn. So humid in rooms that the floor was damp. There was mold in and around the A/C unit and on the bathroom ceiling. I found dead ants on the bed and live ones around the waffle maker. There were live roaches in the fridge. DO NOT STAY

This hasn't been reviewed in awhile. Not a bad place to stay on your way to somewhere. Room was clean. Breakfast was not gourmet, just stomach fillers. Staff was friendly. Not a vacation hotel by any means, but good value if you are traveling through and need a place to sleep.

A pleasant stay at a reasonable price. Everything worked, breakfast was OK, and no unpleasant surprises. The staff seemed friendly and accommodating and the motel seemed well managed given the short staffing most hotels are experiencing now.

Is there a charge for pets ?
Answer from Chadd Venable
Poplar Bluff, Missouri
Yes, there is a $25, non refundable, one time fee for pets, so if you are staying more than 1 night, the fee is $25 per stay, not per night. I hope this answers your question.

Hi, ac4724. Thanks for your inquiry. No, we do not have any smoking rooms. Our facility is 100% smoke free. We do, however, have designated smoking areas outside to help accommodate our guests.
