Detailed Reviews
The staff were beyond friendly and helpful. The restaurant was affordable and tasty. Nice outdoor pool that was well lit and visible from the lobby. The rugs were clean & the bedding and sheets smelled fresh & looked bright & clean. On the down side, there was a strange smell down the hall that hit as soon as the wing door was opened and was in the room. The first night home when I put my C-PAP mask on the odor was in my machine. There was debris in the corners of the tiled areas. From experience this is usually from going too fast and skipping steps while mopping floors. The vent in the bathroom had not been cleaned for quite some time as it had a visible heavy layer of dust accumulated. When the vent was on the dust fluttered but still clung to it. The best part was the hotel was located in a convenient area & compared to other rooms we saved a bundle by agreeing to allow the booking website to pick our hotel.

Overall, I think this hotel used to be a really really nice hotel but has been sorely neglected for many years. It is not a bad place to stay but it isn’t what it once was either.
Check in was easy in the lobby it’s pretty but you can tell that things have been left without being kept up. The people at the front task were very nice.
Our room is a standard room and the first thing I always check out the bathroom for cleanliness. The bathroom is clean which is always a good sign. Overall the hotel was very clean so I felt really good about that.
The bathroom is small and the toilet doesn’t feel like it is anchored to the floor because it rocks. In the shower, the faucet is pulled out of the wall and needs to be repaired.
The TV has a good number of channels and the reception was good.
The pool is an outdoor pool and it is about standard size for a hotel but it has clearly been neglected over the years. The water was coming and we felt safe swimming but everything else just seemed old.
We went down for breakfast in the morning and the breakfast is very very minimal. They had eggs sausage biscuits and gravy bagels and cereal. There was only salt but no pepper, there was no milk for the cereal, and there were no toppings for the bagels.

This appears to have been a really neat hotel back in the 1970s. Its got cool architecture but its not been maintained at all. I read a ton of reviews on trip advisor to find an affordable hotel that would be acceptable and this barely met that.
1) Wifi does not work in the rooms. I called the front desk and was told it works in the lobby and that I could try to connect there.
2) The TV remote does not match the TV in the room and does not work. This is not an oversight, its obvious its the wrong remote.
3) The AC unit is sagging out of the wall into the room and is propped up on wooden blocks.
4) The sliding barn door in the handicapped room (accidentally booked) is nearly impossible to move, the opposite of accessibility should be in a handicapped room.
5) The advertised hot breakfast is a cold breakfast - a few bagels, donuts, oatmeal packets and cereal in tupperware bins. I booked this hotel because it listed and showed a hot breakfast. I have dietary limitations that made none of the foods here an option. I asked at the front desk and was told they've cut back due to cost and only offer hot breakfast on the weekends. I don't remember getting a mid week "cutback discount" on the rate I paid.
This hotel appears to be entering a death spiral where the greedy owners aren't going to put a dime into it and will run it into the ground. There are other comparably priced hotels in the area in better shape that offer Wifi and food. I'd recommend booking one of them.

The hotel staff were great very welcoming and nice quick check in very detailed information on location of room pool area breakfast etc. I'm local so I had to put $100 deposit which was no problem which is policy at most hotels for locals.checked into room 101 no smoking room for two nights At end of hall right in front of a security camera which I thought odd. I notified staff of a small hole in the wall as I checked in as to not lose my deposit which they made note of didn't bother me much just didn't want to lose my deposit for damage prior to my stay.i took few pictures of the room which I still have and there was mold all over curtains damaged furniture and overall hardly worth 70+ dollars a night. A little disappointing coming from a lamplighter hotel. The fridge was dirty carpet torn and frayed molded wall a above ac unit mold on curtains damaged walls and furniture makeup and dirty doors and walls going into bathroom. I stayed on June 2-4. Other than all this the stay was great and staff great too just lacking in maintenance and housekeeping cleanliness.

Disappointed, this place has really gone down hill. When we arrived last night there were shady people standing around outside our entrance, it was scary and dirty. The door didn't have a handle to get to stairs. Had we not been exhausted from traveling we would of left then. We got to the room and it seemed clean so decided to stay. When we went down for the continental breakfast was a brown paperbag with a muffin, orange and small breakfast bar.
When we went to use the pool key to get into swim. We apparently had to be on a list to swim. This info is NOT on their website. Would NOT recommend.

I broke down in Springfield, MO and checked into Lamplighter South on Glenstone for 2 nights. I had my 2 cats with me. Everything was fine until I loaded up car checkout. Got Bella in car & went back to get Kenze. She was under the bed, darted into bathroom where she disappeared into big hole under the bathroom sink. Tonya @ front desk tried to be helpful and look for her. She called in maintenance guy who searched the basements. He said she can't go far because the holes through the cement are only big enough for pipe to fit through. Said she couldn't go farther than adjacent room 103,but he also checked room 105. Manager Latrica comped the room for the night which I appreciated. If Kenze was right there like maintenance guy said she would answer my meows. I've rescued her feral butt when she was weeks old, she's 8 now. We meow as security locator meows just like momma cat & kittens do. That's how I got her to trust me. If she heard me she'd respond.
I asked night front desk clerk earlier to get maintenance in AM. She said she'd pass it on. Went down again & demanded the manager & maintenance be here in morning to find my cat. My cat is in danger because if their negligence having hole in this motels wall. She said she didn't like my attitude, well "f" her. My cat, my best friend, my sefvice animal for my chronic depresssion is trapped somewhere in this hotel walls dehydrating & dieing because of them having a big hole in wallboard under their sink. I'm sad, angry, sick & miss my luv bug so dies her sister cat. I want my kitty Kat back 💔

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel needs maintenance and shares a parking lot with a strip club. I would not stay there again. The area is a bit seedy and there are homeless folks wandering the area, asking for money. Again, the staff was great. The beds looked clean, but the dresser had white crusty stuff on it. I disinfected the whole room before we relaxed.

My and I had to come to Missouri do to my nephews death. It has been chaos lack of sleep, swollen eyes, but here we were able to get a little piece from it. Miles Tompkins was super amazing at accommodating us. Made sure we had all that we needed and our accommodations were acceptable. Paitents ( the lady who checked us was amazing and made sure that my family and I were alright and anticipated our needs. I have never given a 5 star rating but you guys definitely deserve it! Southern hospitality at its finest! Thank you. Heres my nephew Corey who brought us to your amazing staff!

Nice Hotel in an excellent location. Friendly check in Ladies. Big room with comfortable bedding. Our room air was on and we were instantly comfortable with the temperature. This may sound weird but we have a 50/50 chance that the tv works. Our tv worked and had lots of channels to choose from. Our bathroom was clean with lots of towels. We had complimentary soap, shampoo, and conditioner displayed nicely.

Behind the hotel (to the east) there is a parking lot (where a restaurant was recently demolished) and then a large field that is part of a factory's property. I bet your dog would love it there. I hope you and your family enjoy it town.
