My mom and I stayed here so we could be close to Hammons Arena for a concert. The hotel was very nice and well maintained. The lady at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, spacious and relaxing. We both had a great night's sleep in the comfortable beds. I would definitely stay here again.

We just returned from 3 nights in this excellent hotel. It is clean, well staffed and appears to be brand new. Much better than the average HI Express! It is virtually across the street from the new Hammons stadium, home of the AA minor league Springfield Cardinals - affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. There is an indoor spa and fitness room. Also, the "great room" has a fireplace. There is an outdoor pool and another spa under a roof. We asked for directions to a restaurant, and received precise directions from Jody at the front desk. We look forward to returning to this hotel in the future.

I have never sent in an opinion to Tripadvisor but this time I just had to let people know about the Holiday Inn Express in Springfield Mo....My family (8 adults and 8 children) recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express...it's brand new and the staff from housekeeping to the front desk were wonderful. They bent over backwards for us...from the rooms to the pool everything was really nice, the pool must be heated because the water was the perfect temperture...we will never stay anywhere else when we head toward Springfield Mo...

The known: Room was clean & had nice decor. Bed was soft, almost to soft where it seemed the head & feet were higher than the center. Everything in my room functioned as it should. Staff (only ever saw front desk) was extremely friendly & as helpful as possible, but there were things that they didn't have, like I asked for a fork (they did have a spoon). No housekeeping services (even upon request from what I heard). Realizing the situation, I asked for a trash bag so I could empty my trash; the front desk staff was appalled that I was going to do it myself & offered to come up to do it for me. Breakfast was to be included, but not provided at all by the hotel (more on that later). Elevators were clunky & slow. By the end of our stay there was only one working ice machine. Doors were propped open into lobby as common areas of hotel did not appear to have A/C. Parking was adequate. Room was quiet. There was no soap/shampoo in room, but was available at front desk upon request. No hairdryer was provided.
The backstory: We apparently were the first "convention" since reopening from Covid. The hotel was told months in advance to be prepared, but apparently the management chose to do the ultimate minimum including staffing & repairs to the facility. The Convention Bureau apparently brought breakfast for "us" the last 2 (of 4) days of our stay (kudos to the CB). This is a high end hotel and I'm being generous with 3 stars (because my room was fine). The hotel was not prepared to, nor did it deliver a high end service and left a minimal staff to make due, yet charged full price without delivering on the expectation/promises.

Beautiful decor, great service and clean comfortable rooms. Nothing left to be desired. Also a very good continental breakfast. The cinnamon rolls are wonderful.

I was very surprised at the quality of the Holiday Inn Express, even though it had gotten rave reviews on tripadvisor. We were on the 4th floor looking South with 3 full windows. Room was very nicely decorated, bath was spacious and very clean. High speed internet in the room plus a business center with a computer. Staff was very courteous and attentive. A great Thai restaurant within walking distance and a sports restaurant nearby too that had good food. It's right next door to the ballpark. Sue

First of all they gave away our RESERVED room because someone wanted to extend their stay. Next I found two condoms and a loose prescription pill when I pulled out the sofa bed that had obviously NOT been cleaned. I have a two year old and thank God that I found the pill before him! When I told the front desk, they sent up housekeeping with new linens and gave us 1500 points on our club card... We stay at Holiday Inns at least once a month, and this is by far the WORST experience we've had! I do NOT recommend staying here!!!

We found this hotel on the holiday inn website. It had good reviews and it offered free breakfast so we chose this location. When we arrived we were surprised to find it fairly empty for a Friday night before a holiday weekend. It was July 3rd so I expected it to be packed. It is located next to a ball field which Would be neat if we were in town for a longer time period. We checked in and were allowed a choice of where we'd like our room. I requested first floor because I wanted to avoid our children from disturbing others because we had been in the car for close to 13 hours or more. Once in the room we noticed that the a/c unit was grinding and not blowing the air even though the setting was on high. I called down to the front desk and she came to look at it. She offered for maintenance to come look at it or she would upgrade up to a suite. I took the suite because I was beyond tired and didn't want to wait in we the maintenance guy couldn't fix it, we'd end up moving anyway. So on the way up, she mentioned that it was the first night that this hotel had been opened since it was renovated and she apologized for the inconvenience. The suite was very nice. The only problem we encountered was that the water wouldn't work at first. I attributed that to the fact that it was probably due to no one using it since they renovated it. But the next morning it did the same thing and we were unable to use the sink or toilet. I told housekeeping and front desk and they both said they'd let maintenance know. Breakfast was great. The room was huge and the guy who was overseeing the breakfast area was great. He gave us a to-go box and was very friendly.

I have stayed at this HIE many times and have generally been very happy with it. My sons attend MSU and we have stayed here for all but one visit. The check in staff are always friendly and efficient. The lobby is always clean and smells fresh. Breakfast is pretty standard. They replenish the food quickly. The cinnamon rolls are yummy!
I stayed in a suite because that was the only non smoking room available. I didn't really need it but it was a nice big room with a couch, small fridge and microwave. Our biggest problem was there was a screaming baby in the room next to us our first night. The walls are paper thin so no way to sleep. We called in the am and they told us they were checking out in the am and only charged us for a standard room. The second night adults returned home to their room around 3:30 am and were up late talking. I think all the suites are grouped together so maybe noise is more of an issue in these bigger rooms.
We also found something yucky on the outside of our white cloth shower curtain. I should have called about it but I had already complained once.
This hotel is in a convenient location so I'll give it another chance.

We stayed here the day after they re-opened after renovation. The staff worked very hard to make sure all guests we comfortable and doing well. I would return to this hotel again. Besides, it's right across the street from the ball park. (Hammons Field)
