Hotel Vandivort has garnered attention for its stylish ambiance and well-appointed, spacious rooms, complete with unique touches such as record players. Although experiences with room service and staff attentiveness have varied, the hotel's overall cleanliness is consistently lauded, with many guests impressed by the pristine condition of their accommodations.
The value proposition of the hotel receives mixed reviews; while some guests feel the upscale experience justifies the cost, others are left underwhelmed by the technology offerings and the rooftop bar experience. Amenities generally receive praise, though the absence of certain complimentary items has been noted.

Detailed Reviews
Nice hotel and staff in a city that doesn’t know or apparently care about the COVID-19 pandemic. Hotel staff wear masks, rooms are clean and as of 6/17, the rooms are allowed to sit empty for 24 hrs before being used again.
Some of the architectural details are interesting (the intersection of hexagonal tiles and wood flooring in the lobby is beautifully crafted). Although the designers had a vision of what a 5 star hotel might looks like the staff is not operating at that level... yet. We had an infuriating interaction with the desk clerk trying to figure out how to get to parking and back into the hotel... she couldn’t understand that it wasn’t perfectly obvious to a guest who had never been there before and had no idea how to provide usable directions.
Our room had two story ceilings, a nice comforter, and blackout drapes so, unlike the local motels, we actually got some sleep. Surfaces are clean and in good condition so my wife and I were able to clean the surfaces we would come into contact in about 10 minutes.
The scene on the street and in adjacent restaurants is, quite frankly, frightening... people wait in line across the street at Gailey’s, elbow to elbow without masks. Have your mask on and hand-san in your pocket ready to repeatedly douse yourself. And be prepared to be glared at because you are wearing a mask.
I feel badly for Springfield. They have no idea what is about to hit them. Nice people, nice town, noble effort by the city at reurbanization all about to get whacked by the COVID wave headend their way.

Great location in a cute downtown area within walking distance to many other spots. Very trendy hotel lobby with seating, a bellman and valet parking. Rooms were well done with an updated decor. No microwave or fridge in rooms. Along with trendy is a lower bed. My only complaint was the window treatment. They have a cool remote controlled window blinds for the super high ceilings but they have no curtains. You need curtains if you plan to sleep during the daylight hours. There is 2inches around the whole window that allows light to come in.

Incredible Hotel! The folks behind Hotel V obviously spent time planning and making this hotel truly unique. One of the best now in Springfield. From check-in to check out our stay was wonderful. We stayed in the newer V2 building and it did not disappoint. The room was clean, trendy and well appointed. Definitely a new way of room layout and design. The turntable and vinyl was just so cool. We listened to some Neil Diamond and other classics while relaxing in the room. The location is perfect to walk to quite a bit of the new joints in what seems to be a revitalization of Springfield. Parking on the street on weekends is free and is not subject to the 2hr maximum and we found some right down from the main entrance. We walked to dinner, a couple bars, but made the great decision to end the night at the rooftop bar/lounge on the top of the V2 building. Wow, what a cool space, drinks were top notch, the trout dip app is amazing, Allan our waiter/bar tender was the best. The view is beautiful.
Overall an A+ experience. I know they will stay afloat through this all hope they keep up the excellent service that is so hard to find in the hospitality industry today.
Be sure to check out the The J.O.B. Public House a couple doors down, superior bourbon selection. Some very rare pours to be had.

My husband and I just spent 3 nights in the V2 accommodations. We were in a king balcony suite and it was really quite amazing. It is very clean and modern feeling without being cold. We had huge glass windows overlooking some of the Christmas lights downtown. View was really great. Every finish is of the highest quality. The bathroom shower was HUGE. Only wished it had had a tub, but I think some of their other rooms might. The shades are truly a nice touch. They’re automated- just push button to lower/raise either shade or blackout curtain.
Hotel V is very dog friendly. Outside the front is a green space with bags and waste basket. Very convenient! They don’t have any kind of small store with snacks, drinks, aspirin... but gave me free water any time at desk. Limited room service due to COVID-19, but I asked an attendant that I saw for more coffee and creamer and she gave me all I needed for stay.
The staff are friendly and accommodating. I had to take my dog out at about 4:30 one morning. When coming back in, I met Margita who was busy cleaning the lobby. We were both masked and 6 ft apart. We had a really nice conversation - which hasn’t happened much during this pandemic. In a year of distancing from one another, it was refreshing to talk for a bit. Thank you, Margita, for taking time out for a nice chat😊

Their website advertised valet parking. They didn’t have it, said because of Covid. But advertisement of valet parking still on website. Could either pay to park in a garage a block away or park in a lot just off a public street downtown, no protection, nor any responsibility for breaking in.
No bellman, but front desk manager was nice and got a house keeper to help. It was a nice room with a good view. The room, however was hot. The thermostat didn’t work, an engineer had to go to the basement to fix the setting. After that, the a/c worked.
Went downstairs for dinner and cocktails. Took 20 minutes to get first cocktail. It was a plain vodka only martini with very clear instructions. Sent the first ones back because it wasn’t what was ordered and reviewed the very simple drink instructions with the server. After 30 minutes, still no cocktail. Went up to the bar to gentlemanly complain. Bartender said they were ready. Waiter brought them out still had vermouth in them. Went to the restaurant person said I wanted to pay my bill. She was trying to get the drinks comped and left to get manager. Finally I asked waiter how much he told me, I paid him, gave a $10 tip and went next door to have a fine pizza. It too 15 minutes to figure out how to cut off the overhead light before going to bed. Nice personnel but not a good hotel. Numerous problems. Nice people, but unacceptable service.

Response from Zackary Oxley, General Manager at Hotel Vandivort

Henrysfork10, Thank you for the feedback. I have double checked our website and any trace of valet service is removed until after the virus abates. We have had to make many sacrifices to service and amenities for the safety of our guests and associates. The issues you experienced with respect to room temperature and the long wait for service in our restaurant are definitely something that we can work on. Hopefully when the dust settles on this pandemic, you will afford us the chance to show you what the full Vandivort experience is all about. Thank you again for providing this learning opportunity.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Vandivort for one night while visiting friends in Springfield, and overall, I was very pleased with our stay here and thought the hotel was hip and comfortable.
The location is convenient to downtown, and there is very accessible parking. The hotel is split into two buildings separated by the street, and we were in the newer building. The suite we had was very large and the bedroom was a corner room that had plenty of windows. At the same time, privacy was not high because you could still see in from the outdoors and the building is only a couple of floors high. The bathroom was quite large and the shower was almost too large. (So big that the soap dispensers were about 3 feet away from where the water was. But I guess that’s better than having a shower that is too cramped!)
There was a old fashion record player with some 1950s and 1960s albums, which I thought was an interesting touch. The bar area came with plenty of glasses for some small entertaining. With the layout of the room having the living area separated from the bedroom, we did have some people over to visit and the sitting area was not "in" the bedroom.
Another aspect I appreciate about this hotel was that it accepted dogs. In the lobby there were a few dogs in so that certainly is a positive aspect of this hotel. There was even a doggy welcome bag!
Overall, I thought the hotel was very modern and sleek and centrally located. A very good option at an affordable price relative to the quality.

Phenomenal views of downtown SGF. Two hour blocks and we chose an igloo on the NW corner of the roof to enjoy a bite, some drinks, conversation, and a great sunset. The staff was conscientious and kept drinks and water refilled and at the ready. Peppadew peppers were a great bite. The draft wine and beer choices were simple but well curated. Great start to a date night. Our server was ready preemptively with our check before we asked as we neared the conclusion of our reservation. Well done sir. Great spot for NYE if they offer it.

Let me start by saying the hotel is beautiful - very impressive when you walk in and certainly when you walk into your room. Our friends had a much better sleeping experience because their room was not facing the street (both 2nd floor) so it was really a matter of issues outside rather than anything IN the hotel. Unfortunately we found the bed very uncomfortable (also the mattress was too small for the platform so if you weren't careful in the middle of night was interesting). When the bars and restaurants closed for the night, happy LOUD people woke us up twice - so as I said, it was our location to the street and not the hotel itself. My only issue with the hotel was that when we asked if we should have had bottles of water in the room, the young lady at the front desk told us she'd have someone bring them to us, then later texted both our rooms and told us that they were "out of complimentary water" but we should feel free to go to the hotel shop and buy ourselves a few bottles...

Exceptionally clean and styled beautifully. The lobby smelled amazing. Staff was very friendly. We spoke with the security guard a few times and he was very insightful about the hotel and local restaurants. We were in building 2 in a 3rd floor suite. The room came with a record player which was very nice. We stayed on a Sunday which meant the rooftop area was closed which was very disappointing. It would have been nice to sit up there and play a game of cards drinking the wine we brought. I understand not opening the bar but I would recommend allowing hotel guests access. We would definitely stay there again.

I reserved three suites for my family. Each of them was wonderful. Mine, a terrace suite, was the best, but they all were nice. I am going back in May of 2020 and will again reserve three suites. The only downside of the entire trip was the dessert menu of the restaurant. That is very trivial because the entire experience was wonderful. If you need a night or a week anywhere near Springfuekd, I must recommend the Vandoivort.
