The entire property was clean and orderly. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was great and the Breakfast buffet was very good. I believe that this is an older "Holidome" property with a large atrium in the center that the walkways to rooms overlooks. The property has been updated in good fashion and is pleasing to the eye. Overall, this is a nice place to stay when you're in Springfield.
There was no refrigerator nor microwave in the room which was very inconvenient. At one time I'm sure the hotel was grand. Currently there is construction going on. The pool was not available which was a disappointment to my children, and there is only one area with elevators. The property is large, and the lack of elevators located near the far rooms is inconvenient. No continental breakfast, which for the price seems like it would be.
The room itself wasn’t bad and looks like it had been redone not too long ago. Like other people have mentioned, there are no convenient outlets near the bed to charge your phone. The public areas are a bit outdated, but it looks like they are doing a remodel. The bathroom tub was gross! There really is no excuse for how dirty it was. I went to the Walmart next door and bought some magic erasers but that didn’t even seem to help. At least we didn’t need to use the tub - only the shower, but that didn’t even work properly. It is cracked or something and water comes out all over. We only stayed one night so we decided just to make do instead of requesting (a potentially worse) room. We will not stay here again.
This hotel may deserve its price when renovated, but it's a dump right now. The whole place is dusty. In renovating rooms, they swapped out TVs but left uncomfortable beds. Also the only Holiday Inn we stayed at on the entire trip that didn't serve breakfast. The dinner restaurant was better than expected and the wait staff were charming.
Very disappointed in the experience. The room is very spacious, king bed, couch, etc, but woefully inadequate for electrical outlets ( we moved the couch to find more) coffee maker wasn't near an outlet (moved that, too) and there us no mini fridge or microwave in the room. We are here for 5 days, and the lack of a mini fridge is a big deal. Location of the hotel is dicey. Homeless people outside constantly asking for money. And then there's the entryways. Hotel is being remodeled and most of the exterior entrances cannot be used at this time. You park and have to walk around the building to get in. Very inconvenient. You have a lot of choices in this area of Springfield for places to stay. Give this one a pass, at least until the remodeling is complete.
The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. Definitely can tell they are renovating. For the price, disappointed that there was no complimentary breakfast. Nice layover though to rest your head on a long journey.
Where to start... hotel dirty, no fridge in room, no place to charge electronics, shower difficult to operate and only one force of water- hard. No service to room even to change out towels or replenish soap/shampoo. I know it the time of Covid but I have stayed in other hotels during this time with more service.
We booked this hotel through a third party package deal. Exterior: needs painting, parking lot needs repaving. Interior: stale smoke smell, dirty feeling. Room in poor condition...un-remodeled room given to us with carpet peeling up, mold on window valances, smoke odor. They are in the process of remodeling. Had this been disclosed at booking , we would have selected another hotel. The front desk staff was courteous. Housekeeping didn't even put the duvet covers on the quilts. Lazy! The lamps were very dusty. Until the remodel is completed, stay elsewhere. Washing all of our clothes, even the clean ones to get rid of the smoke odor.
Would not stay here again. Homeless people sleeping outside hotel, comforter was stained, pillows had hair on them, mattress’s were stained - one had dried blood on the mattress pad. Water leak in the bathroom with water damage to one of the walls. Towels were dirty and hanging on the rack. The only good was the location was ok and most of the staff were at least friendly.
Called the motel directly to avoid any miscommunication, to get 2 adjoining rooms with a door between them (made this point very clear) and was assured that we would get them, so we booked. Upon arrival we were told that we had 2 rooms next to each other, and I answered that was NOT what we asked for. I Felt that I was lied to as they KNEW they didn't have those rooms. They offered me a full refund but after a day of driving, we just wanted to rest so I kept the rooms. BIG MISTAKE. Their rates out the door was $154.00 each and for that money I could have had any motel in town. This motel was shabby inside and out, poorly kept, dirty floors, no free breakfast, no coffee in lobby after hours, Just an overall bad experience. This was an $80.00 motel AT BEST and I 'm giving them more than they deserve. For the money they charge, stay at a better motel as their are many at this location. Our bed was confortable but you sink in the middle. After this experience I will use tripadvisor before I travel.…
