Took about 30 minutes for check in. The clerk at front desk didn’t know what he was doing. Despite giving a card with my Wyndham rewards number a strange number appeared on my invoice and I was NOT given rewards. Clerk did not listen when I protested. Room and property are old and worn out. Furniture in room was old and damaged, not a comfortable room. If I had not driven so much that day, I would have gone somewhere else. No breakfast or coffee the next morning. The operators of this property were not friendly and did not seem to care about guests. I don’t understand how Wyndham lends its name to a property like this!!
We just got home from a week-long trip. I wanted you to know I booked a room at the Super 8 by Wyndam in Springfield, Missouri, for one night on August 8, 2022, on our way to Terre Haute, Indiana to see my very ill brother. The on-line bill reflected $68.05, and it was in good faith that we accepted this amount. I should have made time to look at their overall rating which reflected poorly on them, but I was concerned about getting to my ill brother. We had our two small dogs with us and the hotel was listed as "pet friendly." We arrived and the proprietor, I believe her name was Ruth, said she had to add an additional $20 per dog to our bill. I was extremely upset at this as on the bill notice I received and the one I showed her, there was no indication of any additional payments for pets! When I told her I was going to make a complaint about this, her response was, "I DON'T CARE"! She told me I should have went to their page to see the pet stipulations. She had a bad attitude and was extremely rude to us, and by then it was much too late to get another hotel that would accept dogs, as well called others hotels in the area. When I checked out the next morning, my bill was $150.00, 81.95 more that I budgeted for!!!! The room was crap and in no way did it reflect the photographs we saw. I took pictures of the room condition. I could not stay to argue with them as my brother was in critical condition by that time and we really had to go. We feel totally ripped off. I want my $81.95 returned to my account and Ruth and the others reprimanded for their terrible customer service skills.…
The whole building was awful, but then you go inside and there is an odor like no other. The rooms were horrific. There were holes in the door that resembled a fight that involved kicking and punching. Holes in the wall and what looked like old blood stains on the carpet. The room I was offered was outside and the only one outside. It was terrifying. The workers were around the door all the time and were rude.
This property has a mediocre location, staff that doesn’t know the meaning of the word service, and zero amenities. No breakfast, no microwave, no coffee service, and no customer service. Why would you pay to stay here?
My job booked me this hotel for work and when I checked in they were charging extra 15 dollar for me and my wife. Plus a crazy 100 deposit. The lady was super rude. Don’t recommend. Expensive and ugly.
The guy was nice when checking in but it was over priced and dated. The hole placed had a funk to it. Old carpet I think. The room was ok but did not have a fridge or microwave. I will not be staying there again.
I called the hotel directly to book a room. I was told the rate would be $59. That sounds about right for a Super 8 in Missouri. I thought it was weird that I did not get an email confirmation but blew it off. When I checked the bill on my credit card they charged me $159. If that is not bad enough, the room was deplorable: stained walls, dirty carpet, make-up and a hair on one of the pillows. I could go on but if you are not convinced yet to avoid this place more won't help. This hotel is run by dishonest people.
Had to cancel this room after we checked in. It was filthy, stained linens, dry wall damaged and missing. Went to front desk to get money back and move to another hotel. Front was rude, said she was busy and had to answer the phone. Told us we had to call reservations center. Finally she agreed to credit the room. I should have known when I drove in and all the windows were open. Ugh do not stay here.
Our stay felt like a camping trip. Staff member not wearing mask at check-in or check-out. Mom-smoking room smelled of smoke but appeared relatively clean. Window latch broken so could not lock & could hear highway traffic through the night. Smoke detector was missing. Just a hole in ceiling with wires hanging down. Continental breakfast listed on website was not provided. Not even a pot of coffee in breakfast room.
The ceiling is coming down in the room and big hole in the door. Very outdated not very well maintained. The bedding needs to be updated with a new mattress and pillows. And it was almost like you was sleeping on the floor it was so low
