Detailed Reviews
This once upscale property has changed hands a few times in the past couple of years, and the unfortunate shabbiness of this once time Residence Inn clearly reflects the hard times it has fallen on. However, for $63 a night I'm getting a huge, apartment-like room with king bed, complete kitchen and high speed internet- a GREAT LOW price! It's also just about right across the street from the mall, which if not scenic is certainly handy to retail therapy!
It's currently mid afternoon and my car is the only one in the parking lot, so I'm not sure what the new neighbors are like - but at least there are no cars up on blocks!

We wandered into Springfield after a long days drive and really kind of lucked into this property. It is a little different from your average cookie cutter motel room, and in a good way! It is a bit older and the exterior could use a little touch up here and there....but it shines where it counts. What a pleasant surprise the room was...very private and just huge, with a full kitchen sporting full sized appliances. I could absolutely see a fairly long stay here. Good breakfast to boot:-)
This was our first night out on a two week trip, and there were only one or two other properties that I preferred....and they were twice the money. I would absolutely stay here again. Wife and I both liked it.

Responded 1 Oct 2014
JohnC, How lucky for us that you wandered through, we are happy that you did and hope you will return. We are working on sprucing up the outside of the property with painting the stairs and a few other projects that we are excited about. We look forward to your return, P.S. the fireplaces are very nice in the winter months!

The hotel is in a great location. The room we stayed in was a suite with small kitchen, breakfast bar and living room with a king bed. There was a lot of room and it was clean. There was a nice courtyard with a pavilion and pool outside. The building could use a little updating, but it doesn't look run down or anything. And the rooms are very reasonably priced. We got the suite for less than a queen room would have cost us at another hotel. The staff we talked to were friendly. I will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Springfield.

So I came to Springfield celebrate my brothers birthday to have a good time. I got two nights my first night In the penthouse (which includes dishes) needed silverware for dinner there weren't any. checked in late the afternoon. There were pilows and blankets for upstairs bed but had no blankets or pillows for queen size bed. No spare sheets blankets or pillows for the couch that lays down into a bed.Called office they had no blankets or pillows and said they could only give me two forks and they had no spoons. So I had to go buy silverware and blankets so my little girl had something to cover up with. I took a shower and when i got out i went to get something to eat and within thirty mins my feet were black fromthe dirty nasty sticky floors oh not to mention they didn't have any towels for the second night nor for when we got out of the pool. The remote didn't have batteries so called desk of course they didn't have any went and bought some put them in and tv wouldn't work at first finally got it to turn on but would come in and out so did the one upstairs. I paid 200 and something dollars for two nights and basically had to buy all the things we needed to eat and sleep. The floors and walls were all banged up. The floor I wouldn't accept at my own houss let alone when I'm paying for it. IT WAS UNACCEPTABLE! I could go on and on about the things that were unacceptable. i feel completly cheated and feel as though I should be compensated esp when I had to buy half the stuff I shouldve had!! I don't ever put bad reviews but I just wanted to save people about 100 dollars on necessities to stay here. You will regret staying here.

⚠️⚠️WARNING TO ALL NEWCOMERS! Please take pictures and document ur stay!!! I have stayed here plenty of times, it was cheap and spacious. I didn’t care about anything else. Our first time staying there was about a few months ago. The floor had a hole in it, the wall trim was sticking out with nails and they never provide enough towels or Kitchenware. Another time we stayed, the air conditioning was not working, and u can tell the housekeepers never are checked on cleanliness. They banned my family and I from staying there, this last time. They claimed we had trashed the room. First of all it was my mistake that I didn’t turn in the fact I found a syringe behind the dresser as I was checking out. I was searching for my keys and moved furniture a bit and It was checkout time and I was rushing to get my kids gathered and we had a few errands we were late for. So I left the dresser pulled outwards so “this time” the housekeepers could do their job and find the needle. I didn’t know they were going to assume it was mine and accuse me of it! Second of all they don’t do any room checks at all or provide enough trash cans. We celebrated a birthday that week and had lots of trash. We made sure the trash was all in bags and also our dirty linens (towels etc) were in piles and not spread throughout the place. I spoke with the manager and she told me I broke policy and was not allowed even on property. She wouldn’t give me an explanation besides that we trashed the room and claimed to have pictures. I’m curious to know what these pictures entail considering Ik how I left that room. It was not trashed, but ya the housekeepers had to do their job by changing the linens out and throwing the trash out. We don’t live there like some people do. They have drug addicts that live there and don’t pay attention to their property at all. They don’t fix anything to my knowledge either. I wasn’t going to leave a bad review due to liking the space of the place and how cheap it was. They have gone to far this time. Accusing me of that needle and claiming I left the place trashed. I have a good record and used to work for plenty of housekeeping businesses. My mother was management at Wyndham at one point, and she even claimed there would have been several violations towards the housekeeping there. So why would I trash a place and leave it a mess? It’s fine, I found a cheaper place to stay and it’s fully stocked and clean.

The kitchen had mouse droppings under the sink and behind the refrigerator. The fire extinguisher was missing from its mounting bracket. There was trash crumbs and dirt on the floor and in all the corners of the tile and linoleum flooring. The bathroom towel holder is about to fall off, the sink is pulling away from the wall mounting. There was a bent nail from a maintenance worker that was left in the carpet for someone to step on. There were coffee filters but no pot or disposable cups to use. The cleaning staff is NOT cleaning. All in all I would say it’s a horrible place to stay for the price. The location is great. Too bad it’s poorly managed and the desk staff does not care. It was evident in the attitude I received when I told the receptionist about the problems I noticed. No way will we ever go back and I will not recommend them to anyone.

We got to the room late at night with 2 little ones who just wanted to sleep. There was dried pee on toilet and bunch of hair. Every inch of room was either dirty or falling apart. Bathroom was so gross. Thank goodness we had antibacterial wipes with us. Beds are old and worn out. Black looking mold above the shower. I will never stay here again. Place was actually nice before back round 2000 before the new owner bought it.

The pictures don’t depict the actual rooms AT ALL! I stayed in C314 which had a 4 inch hole in the tub covered up by a rubber mat, a broken coffee pot that I had to fix, no place to put your clothes other than shelving in the bathroom. Went to take a shower and the towels were filthy. There is no “Free Breakfast” as advertised. The bathroom sink is full of cracks like it’s older than Moses. The walls appear to have experienced leaks as the pain and sheet rock are pulling loose. I was running low on toilet paper and happened to see the cleaning person outside the door. Asked her for another roll, she didn’t look at me and handed me a roll. The fireplace hasn’t been cleaned in a long time, but I find it odd that a fireplace is available, yet they don’t offer wood to burn. This was a suite, with a futon and that would have been fine, however there wasn’t any bedding for the second bed at all. I can certainly see why they charge your card well before the end of your stay. I would have left this nasty place. Do yourself a favor, find a different place to stay.

Holes in walls and doors.
No safety chain.
Lights burned out.
Sidewalks and outside general upkeep not good.
Shower curtain stained and missing brackets to hold up shower curtain.
Staff is nice. It must be difficult keeping a good attitude when the product you are selling is so run down.
Suggestion: spend a little more and go to a better kept property.
I left before my anticipated departure date.

It’s hard to find and not lit very well. Scuzzy people walking around. Walked into the room and it looks nothing like the pictures. Hasn’t been maintained or updated and smelled like stale cigarettes. Was supposed to be nonsmoking. Immediately checked out.
