We had trouble finding the place (partly cuz we were tired and sun was in our eyes). The sign off the main drag was small and we missed it several time. Google maps had to lead us there. Check in was quick and efficient. Our room was on second floor (no elevator) but we are in good shape and was no problem for us. When we opened the door to room, there was a smell - not sure what it was - Cleaning product? Perfume?? Weed?? We turned on the vent in bathroom and it cleared out. Room looked recently painted and many of bathroom fixtures had been replaced. We slept well. Breakfast was slim but had some basics.
This motel did not live up to the pictures and ratings on Trip Advisor. The price was right but. Keys to room didn't work consistently. One of the two keys never worked. Bathroom was tiny. Breakfast was OK but not many choices. Don't think Super 8 will be one of my choices anymore especially this one.
The room next to me was leaking water into my room. It stunk horribly, and the floor was wet. They refunded me, and the staff was great. Had a small cold served breakfast which was fine. Beds were decent.
The front desk person was rude and not very accommodating when checking in. I booked for a family of 4 andthey put us in aone Queen bed room which wouldn't work so I had to pay extra for an upgrade charge for a 2 queen bed room which was smoking because that's all they had left and there was burns and stains everywhere in the room.
Have to admit, when we embarked on this mission specific trip cross country, with our COVID pup who has separation anxiety in tow, we were economy minded and had low expectations. We needed to stay within a $100 / night budget with a place that was clean, had some type of breakfast available, and was pet friendly. Ideally, it would be a chain where we could also earn some points. We landed upon Super 8 by Wyndham and booked the first leg of the tour, leaving an option to book elsewhere if we weren't satisfied. This particular Super 8 was the highlight of our trip. It was clean, well managed, and with a friendly staff who was accommodating to our room preferences. The facility has been more recently remodeled, so the bathroom and sink area were nice, clean, and with no leaky plumbing. The towels were new, fresh and smelled clean!! Although it is a smoking hotel and the hallways were definitely smoky, our non smoking room was smoke free and did not bother my allergies. The bed was nice and firm and we even got our best nights sleep for the whole trip here. The breakfast area was tidy and stocked full of wrapped pastries, which my husband loved, and quality fresh fruit for me. Oranges, apples and bananas! Tasty, juicy, sweet apples and slightly green, smooth, non bruised bananas--my favorite. And the coffee was nice and hot, smooth and full bodied--stronger than Dunkin and not burned tasting like Starbucks. (Don't fight me, I am a Starbucks fan) Five stars!! Well done!!…
On a road trip toward a family reunion, we were lucky to come across this cute and clean overnight option, as all the hotels in Springfield were booked. The 24 hour front desk was essential for us, since we did not know how long our trip would take, but we were surprised how quiet and comfortable it was.
I normally don't stay at Super 8 motels so I don't know how this one compares but, overall, I would be turned off to the possibility of staying at another one. Pros: Cost - it would be difficult to find much less of a price without ending up in a complete dive. While this had too many negatives for my liking, it was decent enough that I didn't leave (which I have done at other motels when repulsed by the accommodations). Sleep - it was a quiet building even at full capacity and the beds were comfortable. Cons: Cleanliness - it's an older building and while I think they are cleaning to the best of their ability, the years of travelers feels like it's permeated every surface. The sheets felt clean and I think all of the towels were but there was one that was hanging on the hook instead of with the rest of the towels on the rack. Was it clean and that is just the way they hang them? I don't know but it was not a towel we felt compelled to use. Smoking - there is an option for a smoking room. Unfortunately, that option has allowed for the stale smell of cigarettes to settle in the motel. I didn't notice it so much in the non-smoking room but it is in the halls and lobby. Also, several people were smoking pot, which the odor travels further than cigarettes. We were not roomed next to them but if we were that would have been a miserable experience. No elevator - if you are not handicapped or don't have a lot to carry this is not a big deal but if you are handicapped you may as well continue down the road a few stops at the myriad of other lodging options. This is a very small building and on a busy night there is a better chance you may not get one of the lower floor rooms. Final observations: There is a refrigerator but no microwave in the room - not a big deal but something I've become used to in most places I've stayed. The esthetics of the neighborhood and accommodations can be off putting to someone who are sensitive to those kinds of things. Not something I normally bother with in an older building, however, when dealing with older facilities and neighborhoods, the rest should be impeccable to make up for it. Overall, when you're traveling, exhausted and looking for an affordable place to sleep this Super 8 is acceptable if the Cons mentioned don't turn you off.…
Everything was good until I was ready for bed. I did not mind the burnt mark on the carpet. But cookie crumbs by the nightstand and on the floor all around the bed just showed me that whoever was to clean this place lacked attention to the detail. Not even that. I think it is rather basic. I mean, really, come on. Comfortable bed, however. I had a best sleep that week.
Should have booked nonsmoking rm. Got one of the last... it was a smoking rm. Opened window but hope window doesn't fall out it. Multiple burn holes in carpet, bedding, chair. Mud over holes..it hasn't been painted yet. Plastic tub patched.
I realize this is not some glamorous hotel. Which is fine. As soon as I walked int o the building someone was smoking marijuana. The entire lobby smelled like this. 2nd: I got to my room it smelled like marijuana. The room was some what ok you cantell there has been water damage because the drywall tape was peeling off the ceiling. 3rd: We wanted to to do laundry because we have been on vaction. The washing machine did not spin the clothes correctly so it took 4 hours to dry 1 load of clothes. The free breakfast was cereal and fruit. With no milk avaliable. So needless to say this was a terrible experience.
