We have stayed at the BW Keavil House Hotel several times now, the last few years we have celebrated our wedding anniversary there. Always receive a warm & friendly welcome upon arrival. Staff cannot do enough for us. Every time we think our last stay cannot be outdone, they exceed it. The food is some of the most delicious meals we have ever had. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, especially if you want to celebrate a special occasion.

Really looking forward to having a relaxing stay whilst my partner and I run the Edinburgh marathon, especially having use of the pool and other facilities. 23 days before our stay, the hotel informed me that the booking would need to be cancelled. Apparently a corporate event was more important than us. Won't be booking again, mainly because I probably won't be in Dunfermline again for a while, and when I book a non-refundable room, I expect it to honoured. Now I have to seek accomodation last minute before the big event nearby. Thanks again.

Dear Christopher Keavil House Hotel has been seconded by the government from 29th May for accommodation only, and we are very sorry that no accommodation is available from this date for a period of a few months. We have attempted to give guests as much notice as possble that the hotel is closing to guests from this date. Our re-opening date will be advised on pour website in due course. As with the previous message we have now found out that my brothers wedding has been cancelled! The hotel hasn’t even had the decency to email us yet, we have had to find out indirectly! I called reception who have confirmed the hotel will be closed in June and have promised to resend emails but nothing so far. The wedding is 6 weeks away and over 40 people have nowhere to stay. The stress and anxiety this is causing is unbelievable and there has been no care given at all by the hotel management.

We have just returned from a night away at this Hotel and unfortunately it was overall a disappointing experience. Our room was spacious and clean and the swimming pool facilities were fine, a small walk from the hotel. We booked a table in the Bistro which we felt was over priced and please note there is 10 percent surcharge added to the bill which I feel should not happen and as a customer we should have a choice to tip! Our meal was overall fine but chips were undercooked so I couldn’t eat them, I made the waiting staff aware of this. During our meal they also started setting up tables for breakfast, not great! Breakfast was fine but cold buffet was a poor show, no crossiants, rolls or sweet cakes left with no sign off replenishing! The staff were overall very nice and helpful but lacked the positive patter, they seemed lacking in experience. The building is beautiful but sadly lacks soul and very bare in parts. Unfortunately we would not return.

Dear Steve and Lynne, Thank you for your review following your recent stay. I am pleased that you enjoyed many aspects of your stay but I note that we fell short in some aspects. It is normal practice to add a discretionary gratuity to restaurant bills (often more than 10%) and this is shared equally withe the whole team. Any guest can ask for this to be removed if they wish. WE will address the areas where we fell short with urgency. Thank you again for your review. Best regards, Jason Doga General Manager

WEDDINGS AVOID! Less than 11 weeks before my sister's wedding they cancelled all the hotel bedrooms booked for the wedding, including the Bridal Suite! They prioritised a late booked four month corporate contract over weddings between the 29th of May and at least 4 months after, multiple weddings have been affected. The main reason my sister booked was because of the rooms being close to the venue with multiple guest travelling from overseas and England. If I am honest, the venue is average at best but the convenience of the rooms was needed. Jason Doga, the General Manager, did not even have the decency to call and instead sent a short email with a list of alternate local hotels with the larger hotel's rooms already being fully booked for that date. This will cost my sister indirectly hundreds, if not thousands of pounds. This has caused my whole family and the couple immense stress less than three months before the big day. My sister will be looking at alternate venues all together because of this. With multiple weddings affected this is unacceptable and greed from the hotel. Avoid.

I'm so disappointed with this hotel. They booked our room to the furthest end of the hotel. No decent views. Poor wifi signal. Away from my other friends rooms. I can feel that they intentionally did it to us because i have an 8months old baby. No other guest rooms besides us. It feels like we are isolated. What makes it worst is that I'm the one who paid for 3 family rooms for my friends since we are on holiday yet our room is far from them! We did enjoy the rib eye steak though. However, this will be the last time for us in this hotel, nor will I recommend it to anyone.

Dear Dextersnop, Thank you for your review. I am so sorry that our room allocation did not meet your satisfaction and there was certainly no intent to allocate you a room apart from your friends. Had we been aware of your disatisfaction with your room allocation, we would have moved you to a room that you were satisfied with. We had a WiFi fault in part of the hotel during your stay which was unexpected and involved the replacement of hardware which has now been completed. Best regards, Jason Doga General Manager

The first visit and overall stay was pleasant. Staff were lovely, there was a short wait on arrival at reception and we were told to queue. Rooms were fine, not sure about them being described as executive though and modernisation, probably due. Beds were comfortable and facilities swimming/sauna all good. We booked a table in a restaurant and the food was great, especially chargrilled flat iron steak and sauce. What ruined the meal, though, was ants 🐜 crawling onto the table. At first, we thought this was just one or two and asked staff if their was a problem with ants (patio doors had been open). We were reassured no known problems though another guest had mentioned the same earlier. However, when more ants had to be swiped away from the table, it became uncomfortable and offputting. We checked outside on the patio area, and there was an army of ants evident suggesting a pest control issue. This was the only disappointing part of our stay. We had some drinks in the lounge area, and as a suggestion, background music should be played as no atmosphere.

Once the postie gave us directions (Sat Nav took us into a winding housing estate!), easy to access. Room was small but fine. Great view from patio window. Sadly no internet for the duration of our stay. Pool was excellent and 9YO had a great time there. Some lovely local walks not far. An overall pleasant trip.
