Stayed at the Elk Horn for 2 nights in July on a trip into Yellowstone. Our room was very spacious and clean. The location in town and near the Park was excellent. The price was very reasonable with the staff very accommodating.

My husband and I visit the Yellowstone area every year, and choose to end our trip in Cooke City at the Elk Horn Lodge. Lisa and Jeff are the perfect hosts. Decided to stay overnight in Cooke City on a whim as I was passing through to Yellowstone because it was such a quaint little town. Upon checking in, the owner offered to let me see the room before renting it, was very friendly and gave great suggestions for places to eat and things to do in town. The room itself...

Our quaint little town has awesome restaurants, bars, a new museum, gift shops and of course the Cooke City Store which has been operating since 1886 and we are lower priced than the other gateway communities!. Easily the best hotel I stayed at during my time in Yellowstone. That counts the hotels that I stayed at in Jackson, Gardiner, and West Yellowstone during my stay in the park. Firstly, I try to give a factual non emotional report on all the lodgings I stay in whilst travelling. I am suspicious of reports that are full of angry emotional outbursts. The review that claims that the owner of Elk Horn was rude about not taking pets, and that the owners of another hotel apologised for their behaviour, is hard...

The rooms at the Elk Horn Lodge are larger than expected and include a good-sized fridge and microwave with a table to cook and eat simple meals in the room before a day of sightseeing in Yellowstone. We are so glad you were able to find a "Pet Friendly" accommodation in Cooke City! We have a NO PET POLICY as we explained to you. We have this policy because animals (pets and service dogs) have hair and pet dander and customers want a allergy free room! Enough Said! Lisa and Jeff
