Yes, you can hear trains during the night. They are not that close that it spoils your sleep - particularly if you have done some trekking uring the day. The road is relatively close so, yes, you do hear 18 wheelers/5 axels going by. Again, that did not spoil our night's sleep. Cabins are set back from the road. I believe there are three rooms in the main building. They probably get less noise but would not be as good as a cabin - in my opinion
