Disclosure: We are "local" and so usually don't require all the hunting, fishing, winter sports packages that makes this lodge popular with avid sportsmen and visitors. Experience: However, we asked them to host a dinner and party for our local and out of state family and guests. From social hour with hors de oeuvres to seated dinner for 20 featuring...

We stayed here the first week of November 2013 for an elk hunting trip. As Al I stated in his review, arrival day we were gathered for an orientation that included a lecture about not clogging the toilets and other housekeeping information, but little about actually hunting the area. Mr. Kipp was surly and impatient, not at all what you...

Stayed 2 nights in mid August for my husband to see where he is hunting this November. Russ and Karen Kipp were very welcoming. Beautiful lodge with amazing view of Pioneer mountains. Very quiet and peaceful place. We were the only guests those days. Home cooked family style meals with a lot of variety and excellent chicken dinner. More food...

We stayed there last spring for several days, beautiful location, great hosts, very relaxing! Got to watch a bear form the lodge windows, and saw the baby ducks on the pond. Russ and Karen were very friendly.

I have elk hunted with Russ and Karen Kipp many times over the last 30 years. The food, accommodations, and hunting opportunity are the best in Montana. The meals are varied day to day and always high quality. The rooms are 4 to 5 star with daily maid service. The lodge is comfortable and well appointed. There is a library...

Just spent five days at Montana High Country Lodge. The lodge is lovely, with a large great room with windows that look out to beautiful mountains. We were there to cross country ski and snow shoe. The area provided numerous opportunities for such activities. The owners, Russ and Karen, were gracious and very accommodating. The cook, Jane, was fabulous. Every...

I have been to MHC Lodge for the past two years for Elk Hunting, so my opinion of the entire experience is focused through the lense of a hunting trip. Both years I have been hunting at MHC I have taken very respectable bulls. Personally, I have been hunting all my life, and have experienced several other "lodge" type hunting...

Stayed here during the first week of November for an elk hunting trip. On arrival day, after all the guests were in, Russ, the owner gathered everyone together for an orientation that included a lecture about not clogging his toilets. He came off as more of a high school principal than someone running a lodge. I should have known better...

Finding this place is a challenge as a lot of Montana isn't on my GPS. Once I arrived, I was made very welcome and given dinner. There only thing in the room is the bed and a chair, but you come up here to switch off, not plug in! The great outdoors is the name of the game here. You...

I have a bit of history with Montana High Country Lodge, as my husband and I were married there several years ago, and it was totally fantastic place to hold such an event. I've since recommended it to friends, family and various acquintances that are traveling through the area. The accommodations are a fabulous value. The rooms are huge and...
