I wont lie... when we first pulled up I was worried but I have to say the staff were so nice and helpful when checking in and throughout our stay. When I opened the door to our room I was pleasantly surprised, the décor was amazing! Rooms were warm, clean and comfortable. Plenty of parking on site and free coffee/hot... More

Perfect location. Clean and Comfortable rustic rooms. With the feel of an era gone by. Coaches used to stop here, and this was a hotel that catered for the weary traveler. Breakfast was subsidised and served in a cafe next door to the hotel. Good start to the day.

the hotel/hostel really is next to the entrance of west yellowstone, which gets you pretty fast into the national park. the visitor center is across the street. i loved the free coffee. i stood in a girls dorm with three beds. you have only two showers in the hostel, but I never waited longer than some minutes.

Super comfortable bed, beautiful sheets, the best staff, clean rooms all in a very unexpected package. Location is great, right near the entrance to Yellowstone NP. Fantastic, helpful, knowledgeable, staff.

Nice historic hotel snd the rooms have a lot of soul with a sink and some wood furniture. The bed was comfy and staff were friendly. There is not much sound insulation so the next door room can hear all you are saying and you can hear them snoring or moving about. Nice common room on first floor. Enjoyed my stay... More

First the rooms are small and its basically just a little wood between the walls. The floors are uneven but it really lends to the authentic atmosphere. We stayed in Room 2 - which I would not recommend if you want (more) quiet. Its right above the street and people walk by all night (and the walls, did I mentioned... More

To be honest this type of stay would normally be out of my comfort zone but that being said if you can get by a couple things it is not a bad place at all. So what is the problem? Well, rooms do not have tv's but I found that I really didn't care. I had spent 10 hrs in... More

The Good - coffee bar, location, historic decor, some private rooms w/private bathrooms as well as bunkrooms with shared bathroom The Not So Good - overpriced, although some staff are very friendly, there's one that is not and you get the impression from this person that they're doing you a favor by letting you stay there.

We have been staying at the Historic Madison Hotel/Motel for many years. It has always been, and still is clean, friendly, family run business. Even though it doesn"t have all the extra frills of the higher priced motels (no continental breakfast), It is comfortable, clean and sufficient. They have recently undertaken the job of redoing many of the rooms to... More

With trepidation (based on other reviews) and irritation (at the high prices in West Yellowstone) and since we were staying here for three nights (the longest stay of our trip), I was prepared to have to just gut it out, spend as little time as possible in the room (just sleeping) and then move on …… It didn’t help that...
