During our first night the bed was so cold we were miserable and were shivering all night despite wearing long underwear under our pajamas, down vests and wool ski hats to bed. (Apparently in order to save energy the heat had been turned down when the room had been previously vacant, and no one had stayed in room 101 in the preceding weeks). I'm glad I brought my own pillow, as their lumpy high profile foam pillows would have given me a stiff neck. It took me until the third day to try to figure out how to get the small bedside lamps to turn on and off without inadvertently turning on the overhead flood lights. The room was tiny and could only accommodate one chair, albeit one with a broken roller base (they brought in a replacement). We chose this hotel because of the rooftop hot tub, but only after I made an abortive trip to the fourth floor in my bathing suit did I discover a construction site instead. The hot tub apparently had been closed for repairs for a long time. I believe that should have been disclosed in their advertising or at least when we checked in. When I asked about using the hot tub at the Lodge (a sister property with the same ownership), I was told, "No, due to liability concerns". The phone in the room was dead, but that was thankfully repaired. The staff did supply us with an extra blanket for the second and third nights of our stay. At our request they did bring a coffee pot to our room. Despite this myriad of problems, the hotel did NOT comp us anything off our $209 + taxes/night. I would have given the property only a one star review, except the staff did their very best to try to address our concerns.

Hotel's Favourite
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for a week compliments of the Whitefish Veterans Support Team. Everyone was so friendly, from the front desk, to Christine, the bartender, and, Abby, who makes the best coffee drinks, to server John, who waited on us with a great attitude!! Food was amazing!! Hopefully the chef is back and ok. Rooms were clean and beds so comfortable. Looking forward to returning soon. Thank you WVST and to the Firebrand Hotel. Mervin and Kathy

The friendly, welcoming staff made check in a breeze and were very helpful with out luggage, which included ski equipment. Our room was warm and well appointed. Roomy, modern bathroom and the bed was totally comfortable. The lobby bar and restaurant made for a great place to relax with a coffee or beer after a day on the slopes. Catch a sunset on the roof around the firepits. The Firebrand is located right near the restaurants and shoppes of Whitefish, all of which were easily walkable. Highly recommend the Firebrand. We will stay here again on future visits to Whitefish and the Flathead valley

For those who are flying in and don’t want to rent a car this hotel is perfect. You’ll be in the middle of all the activities downtown with a plethora of dining and entertainment choices. Room, restaurant and bar were excellent as was the staff. Definitely would stay again.

While I was a bit concerned about the quietness of a room on the ground floor in the town of Whitefish, it turned out to be a quiet stay. The rooms were large with great bathrooms—albeit no bathtub. We watched sunsets on the rooftop terrace (and were sad that the hot tub was out of order). We also enjoyed a sunset dinner on the patio at the sister property on Whitefish Lake which about a 6 minute drive. The hotel was conveniently located for all our activities. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The hotel was also nicely furnished. I must say that I loved the chandeliers in the dining room. The hotel was recommended by my college roommate and was the ideal place for our activities in the area.

We stayed at the Firebrand after a week in Glacier and Waterton Lakes. We were looking forward to the highly touted “rooftop hot tub and lounge.” We were very disappointed to learn that the hot tub was not in service - after going to the roof in swim trunks! When I asked he front desk clerk if there are towels for the hot tub on the roof, she told me that there were - but did not tell me that there was no hot tub!! Nor were any drinks or snacks available at the roof lounge. We were told we could get drinks in the lobby and carry them upstairs. A hotel charging $549/night (plus $120 in taxes and “assessments”) needs to do better. The location is excellent and the room itself was modern and clean (including $4 bottles of Firebranded water.). At half the price, this place would be fine, but this is a ripoff.

Overpriced and far from relaxing. I chose this hotel as it was recommended by a fellow pilot/flight crew. I also was excited to enjoy the “rooftop hot tub” they proudly boast. My room was located on the first floor. If you seek relaxation and rest, I suppose you must pay extra. Sleeping was impossible at any hour as a hallway door outside my room was being accessed at al hours. The door itself is louder than any elevator I’ve been next to at other hotels. I’d the loud creep and thud from that floor hallway door isn’t enough- the road noise outside the window is. I can’t speak for other rooms- which is why I hoped the manager would have returned my message. Needless to say, despite this being a business trip and my rest being paramount, I left tired and disappointed. And the hot tub was out of service- but that wasn’t advertised until after check-in. I was hoping to not have to write this review as the hotel has some redeeming qualities. I informed the front desk of my issues and asked management to contact me. No one did.

Staff was friendly & helpful. Hotel could use updates. The carpeting was dirty & worn especially on the stairs. Workout room was clean & offered a good variety. We stayed 2 nights & received a $5 restaurant coupon for the restaurant because we turned down room service. Nice perk & surprise. The yoga class on the rooftop was top notch. They provided mats.

This is one of those hotels that one wishes one stayed at the website instead of the hotel. The property is dated. The carpets need to be changed. The overnight front desk does not even look at people coming in. The fire is gone.

I loved the bed, sheets and pillows, so comfy. The entertainment during happy hour was awesome as well. The walking location was perfect to the shops, restaurants and bars of downtown Whitefish. If you are lucky, you can see a small herd of deer enjoying the walk too.
