Valentines Day dinner. Totally blown away by the quality of the food. We had the venison and salmon for our mains. The chef deserves a hat! The staff were attentive and friendly. The walk through the rain forest to QC track and the Ponga People was brilliant. Feeding and petting the stingrays with the marine biologist was another highlight. We...

Marlborough Wine & Food Festival Weekend Group of friends sojourn to Lochmara LOCHMARA WATER TAXI transferred us to the Lodge jetty where we disembarked and headed straight to the RESTAURANT: for lunch. Service was friendly enough but a bit slow. I ordered the Caesar Salad $19. It was fresh, on the small side and ordinary - I make an amazing...

Absolutely delightful. Unfortunately we could only stay for a day. Beautiful scenery and very sensitive to nature development.Isolated hammocks abound. Wildlife galore including interesting beehive exhibit and newly installed underwater marine observation station. Lunch was delicious.

You know something is up when every staff member expresses surprise that you are staying for more than a couple of nights. Maybe that's because there are only 4 (expensive) options on the dinner menu? It's a 'gotcha' moment. Only a couple of staff members showed any interest in us while we were there - a complete contrast to our...

I am very impressed with the staff at Lochmara lodge! We recently stayed there and I had accidentally left behind my pendant that has a great sentimental value to me. They found it and helped return it back to me so I'd like to thank them for all their amazing help! :) Plus the Tui chalet we stayed in was...

What a brilliant experience for the whole family. The marine biologist who took the tour was fantastic , so informative & friendly. We all came away with something new we had learned. The sting ray feeding & touching was so different & gave us a completely different perspective on these creatures! The underwater observatory was enjoyed by all, loved the...

I spent months saving to take our kids on a memorable holiday to the South Island. I saw the pictures of Lochmara and thought wow, it looks like a luxury resort! We kept the trip a mystery from the kids. When we got to the Ferry terminal they we really excited to be exploring the waters. We arrived in Picton...

This was our third trip to Lochmara Lodge. I was thrilled to see they've implemented an artificial reef. It's a great way to see some interesting underwater creatures. However, I was a bit disappointed in what seemed to me to be some neglect to the walking trails around the lodge, specifically to the "art work". I loved visiting with the...

I was really looking forward to staying here, so much so that we planned a detour from out Queen Charlotte trek to stay here for two nights. I think my expectations were probably too high. Lochmara is great for families with kids, but not really a romantic place for couples in my opinion. We booked the bellbird unit (room 1),...

We have been a few times to this place, we always travel using our own boat. The team are really good at helping mooring and transporting us to the wharf. The location is top notch and there are plenty of things to do once you are there. We always go for lunch so the food is the main reason for...
