The highlight of this hotel is the extremely kind and helpful staff. You couldn't even expect more in a 5 star hotel!! Very professional! Nice swimming pool and nice comfortable rooms with large balconies, cleaning and fresh towels every day.
Friendly, helpful staff and management/owner. This hotel offers everything that's required and the food is as Nonna would make. Many excellent restaurants close by (a few hundred metres) too such as La vecchia Masseria and La Cantinetta. Approx 1Km to the fantastic Mondello beach. We totally recommend this hotel.
We weren’t expecting much after reading some of the reviews and, yes, the rooms are a bit dated but the beds are comfortable, most rooms have balconies and the bathrooms are well-equipped. The location is good- 10 minutes walk to the seafront and some really nice restaurants 5 minutes walk away. There’s also a pool and free parking but what really sets the hotel apart are the staff- without exception friendly and helpful. It really did feel like a family run hotel. I’d stay at the hotel again without hesitation we’re I to return to a Mondello.
The staff at the hotel are amazing and so friendly and helpful. They assisted me with helping with lost property from the UK. Was a really nice stay when I was there and recommend 100% to stay there Rohan
Returning to Sicilly and Palermo after 12 yrs, I recently stayed at this family friendly, 3 star Hotel. Overall, I had a good to positive experience. My room with balcony was to a good standard considering my budget. Yes their is room for improvement i- lift etc., as it does need fresh investment in certain day-to-day areas. That said, the near beach - 10 min walk - location and the outdoor pool were two of my favourites appeals as were the very friendly Italian front of house, Rest. Bar and room service staff. If I was to be critical I would like to see more variety on the food menu's. For me, I had a very relaxing time and short stay here in a very very busy Mondello Beach, the main beach to 800,000 peope in the capital Palermo. The latter is currently European City of Culture and worth a visit for sure.. Will I return.. possibly but if I do.. it will be in May or Sept. Access is best via PMO airport as overland train and taxi way too busy, long for me. …
We had a lovely time at this hotel. I don't know what some of these bad reviews are about...maybe the hotel changed management since they were written but none of them sound like the place we stayed at. Our experience was absolutely wonderful! We stayed at the Conchiglia d'Oro for the last three nights of our honeymoon and we couldn't have picked a better place! Giacomo, one of the owners took great care of us (I don't think he even knew it was our honeymoon). He is incredibly knowledgable about the area and Sicily in general and clearly loves his island. We had wonderful conversations and he even prepared a lovely little apero for us to enjoy by the pool. Giacomo also makes homemade "tortas" (kind of like a cake) for breakfast....the pistacchio torta was do DIE FOR! We would definitely recommend.…
Very nice hotel with friendly and extremely helpful staff. The pool is nice, clean and so is the area around it, a good place to relax and listen to nightingales and backbirds while reading and doing cloudwatching: a great counterbalance to the noisy main roads with crazy drivers :). The sea in Mondello is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen.
Set in a residential area about 10 minutes walk from the seafront this hotel was clean, comfortable and quiet. From the outside it looks like a 60s/70s concrete block but inside is typical European (dark wood furniture, drab decor, poor lighting); our room was spacious and airy and the A/C effective and quiet. Breakfast was uninspiring and the only staff member who looked remotely happy was the receptionist. Some areas e.g. bathroom, pool area need urgent attention. We stayed one night before an early flight (the airport is about 20 minutes away by car) but I would not choose this hotel for a longer stay.
Positive side: Location, vegetation, air con, large rooms, ok breakfast, parking Negative: Lift 1935 barely usable, room tv useless, phones broken, pool dirty (i had to remove dead insect from the water!), quite expensive for what you get.
Absolutely very friendly and helpful staff. We had a simple but very nice breakfast on the terrace and that was even in November an great experience. The diner was very decent to. It is located approximately 600 meters from the beach of Mondello.
