I stay here anlmost every week and Sruthi took amazing care of me. Love this place and your staff. I had the filet and Brussels and the cheesecake and each item was fantastic. Pastry chef killed it and whoever was running the grill killed it too.

The hotel is clean, fresh, and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and I slept great every night. The AC was more than capable of getting my room nice and cool at night despite the 90 degree highs during the day.
The real star of the show is the staff. They were ALWAYS there with a smile to open the doors, provide a shuttle ride, or answer any questions. Compared with even high-end, big city hotels these folks are exceptional.

Me and 2 other friends met here for dinner and tried this place for the first time. We all thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Our hostess and server Sruthi was very welcoming and charming to chat with. We liked the bread basket and Brussels sprouts for an appetizer and my salmon was cooked perfectly, but a tad salty. The orange coffee martini was a nice compliment to my food. We each got a dessert and Sruthi suggestions made us all choose something different delivered by the in house pastry chef. I would recommend and will come back again.

We had a reservation December 11th, 2024 at the Scarlet Hotel in Lincoln Nebraska. We called at about 9pm as we were going to be arriving late, around midnight and wanted to ensure that someone would be there to check us in, we were assured everything with our reservation that we had made days prior was set, and someone would be there to check us in. When we arrived we were told that the hotel was "overbooked" and we would have yo go somewhere else. We were then told that they knew this all day, and just chose not to tell us when we had called just hours before. We drove an extra 3 hours on our 22 hour drive just to stay at this specific hotel because we love it so much, so you can imagine our disappointment to hear this. We were then informed that there were in fact rooms that were unoccupied but they were for people from ESPN, who were not arriving until the next day, but they would not give us any of these open rooms, again despite us also having reservation, and being physically at the hotel at this point, because they were and I quote "more important to take care of". The front desk agents were laughing and joking about it, even though we were visibly upset about this, the manager then told the desk agents not to comp our parking at our new hotel, and that the "room was enough" for them to take care of, despite the new room being $400 less than the room we had reserved. As we were leaving we were then asked to leave out the employees who were working of our "bad review" which they assumed we were going to write. Now on to the hotel they "walked" us to. The hotel we arrived of had a strong odor of cigarettes, and cat pee. We had booked a room with a king bed, and received one with one queen bed, the elevator did not work to the floor we were on, and there was spit on the wall of our hotel room and bathroom- to say it was a disgusting disappointment would be an understatement. We are extremely upset about this situation as we had gone out of our way by three hours to go to his hotel, and were met with unfriendly hospitality from both the manager, and the desk agents. We are avid Hilton users, but are reconsidering this given our most recent experience.

Responded 10 Jan 2025
Dear Megan, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re truly sorry for the frustration and disappointment you faced, especially after driving so far to stay with us. This is not the experience we want for any of our guests, and we completely understand how upsetting this must have been. What you described—both in how the situation was handled and the alternate accommodations—falls far below the standard of hospitality we strive to provide. We take your concerns seriously and will ensure they are shared with the appropriate teams to address these issues. We hope you’ll consider giving us the opportunity to regain your trust in the future and provide the welcoming, exceptional experience you deserve.

Stayed there one night while in town with a friend. The room was clean, modern, and comfortable. Our main issue was with the restaurant. When we went down for dinner, we were told there would be a 20-30 minute wait because of reservations (we did not have a reservation). At that time, the restaurant was practically empty. We went back up to our room and waited for them to call us when they were ready. About 20 minutes later, we were called to come back down. The restaurant was still almost empty. We could not figure out what was with the “reservations”. Anyway, the dinner was delicious. We had the steak with fingerling potatoes. The breakfast the next morning was a different story. The eggs over easy were eggs over hard. The orange juice was terrible. It was not fresh squeezed. It tasted like it came out of a can, not good at all, and they charge $6 for a rotten glass of orange juice.

We usually stop in Omaha, but on this trip decided to push a bit further west and stay in Lincoln. Booked at the Scarlet because the rates were comparable and competitive with other properties in Omaha and Lincoln. I wasn't sure what to expect, but this place turned out to be fantastic.
Be aware that even though the hotel is technically located on the University of Nebraska campus, it still about a 1 mile walk from the main campus. The area is still developing so it can feel a bit abandoned. Nevertheless it feels safe, and no issues with walking around. The hotel also offers a shuttle service.
The property is gorgeous. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean, comfortable and the bed was super comfortable! My only complaint was my breakfast wasn't cooked well, but the waitress (Sam) was super awesome and made it right.
The hotel is not immediately adjacent to I-80, but is well worth the detour to stay here.
Be aware that the hotel charges $20 a night to park in a large non-descript parking lot across the street. A bit steep in my opinion, but given that this is technically on campus, they may not have much sway in this decision. If you will be departing before 8AM, there is street parking which would avoid the parking fee.
As someone else said, each room is themed after a Nebraska town. There are photos and a description of the town.
Bottom line, this hotel is definitely worth a try and stay!

The Scarlet is my hotel of choice when I travel to Lincoln, NE. I tend to check in after work and it makes my trip when I check in and Zakiyyah is working. Zakiyyah does an exceptional job of connecting with the customer. The Barred Owl is a great location to go, with great drinks and views, go up to the roof and watch the sunset. Well & Good's food is amazing.

The beds are amazing, workout room is fantastic, and lobby bar / lobby hangout area is really perfect for relaxing and catching up on work. Parker, in particular, was the perfect bartender. We parked across the street at the metered spots… would highly recommend this rather than paying for the hotel’s valet service if you’re going to be out and about during the day (parking at the metered spots is free from 6pm-8am).

We have been traveling to Lincoln, Nebraska for many years and our most recent visit to The Scarlet Hotel was exceptional! The hotel is new, pleasant, clean, well appointed, and beautifully designed. The rooms are comfortable and extremely quiet. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us and provide excellent service. The food in the dining room, Well and Good, was excellent! The dining staff members, Dillon, Jackson and Uro exceeded our expectations by accommodating our every request and providing friendly service. The front desk manager, Tracy, was so nice and made us feel welcomed! The parking attendants, Dallas and Mark, were always so friendly and took great care to always open the doors for us and to have our cars ready. All in all this was a very pleasant experience and a much welcome addition to Lincoln, Nebraska! Thank you, Scarlet, we will be back!!

Sruthi was the best bartender I’ve ever had!!!! Very personable and accounted for my every need. Made sure my glass was never empty and checked on me to make sure my steak was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this place if you want a great meal and some friendly banter.
