We were here at the end of January, 2023. We were booked into this hotel with a dive package through Pelagic Divers and it was such an excellent choice. It is a really nice hotel, newly constructed, modern and very comfortable. The rooms are quiet, very spacious with a nice sitting area and a balcony facing either east or west where you can hang your gear to dry. The walk-in glass shower is an unexpected treat. We found the staff engaging, very helpful and accommodating. Other guests we met were fun to chat with and we’d exchange diving adventure stories. On the roof there is a very nice workout facility, two saunas and a hot tub for relaxing and a great space for gathering with friends. We had an all inclusive plan so each morning we enjoyed a generously proportioned breakfast of fresh fruit, fresh squeezed juice, eggs, toast, coffee, tea and a Maldivian specialty, mas huni which consists of shredded tuna and coconut with onion and chiles. It is eaten with chapati, a bread similar to Indian naan. Lunch was always served after our last dive starting with soup and then tuna or chicken with rice or pasta, a salad, and fresh juice- sometimes at noon and sometimes at 3:30. Dinner is served at 7:30 or later. One evening we even had sashimi tuna (need to ask in advance).
The hotel also arranged a scooter for us to rent for a couple of days. The island has very few cars on the road- most people use motorcycles. It is small enough that you can also walk or take a bus. We enjoyed using the scooter to explore the myriad of residential streets, with their beautiful floral gardens and decorative portals, the main drags with the shops, coffee shops and restaurants, and zipped around the island on a path by the beach through the coconut palm groves while enjoying a plethora of picturesque views of the ocean.
On our last evening the hotel set a table up for us on the rooftop patio and we enjoyed a wonderful romantic dinner. You can watch beautiful sunsets either from the hotel roof top patio or a very easy walk to the beach, where you will see lots of families enjoying the late afternoon as well.
This is NOT the typical Maldivian resort island where one walks around in tiny beach wear nor is alcohol available. This is a place where real people live and so far, it is unspoiled by too many tourists. We hope that their community can preserve this little paradise for the future. Returning is something we’d love to be able to do someday.

No regrets staying at Ataraxis as the rooms are extremely well built and beds are super comfy with excellent shower facilities. The staff are also very helpful and willing to entertain any requests. When I was there in Jan 2022, it was newly opened so not all facilities were up and running yet but they are expected to be ready mid 2022. There is also a beautiful sundeck where you can watch the sunrise and the location is very near the beach and a nice cafe - cool banana. Scooters are available for rental from the hotel staff as well. Would definitely recommend - Farigh the owner and Manik the restaurant manager will take good care of you 👍

We stayed here on a 10 night dive package trip with Pelagic Divers.

It’s a lovely property, finished to a very high standard and with charming friendly stay. We met some other incredibly nice guests and had a great time. A beautiful extremely clean beach was within 5 minutes walk.

However the food was at best average, very samey with often little choice and lacking in light fresh food. Fuvamulah seems to produce a lot of its own fruit and vegetables, so this could easily have been rectified. In fairness when the manager asked, we gave him some feedback and the situation improved somewhat. The package costs the same as a liveaboard, which we did the week before and where the food was much better.

In far south in Maldives you will find one hidden gem of the island called Fuvahmulah. Fishermans island and so called shark island.
And in this gem lies Ataraxis hotel. Walk distance from the beach.
Starting from entrance you are welcomed like you are family. There will be a tasty coconut waiting for you upon your arrival together with heatfull welcome by the stuff. Rooms are cleaned every day and whatever you need you can just ask the stuff and they will provide you. Restourant is available for you all day for room service or eating in the restourant. You can choose either buffet or a la carte. My favorite was fruit plate which i would enjoy on the balcony. My favorite part of the hotel is eithout question the rooftop. It has the best view in the island and watching sunset from there every night is just perfect end of the day. Whether on vacation or there for scuba diving hotel provides everything that is needed for perfect holiday. If tou have special requests for birthday/proposals etc they are more than haply to organize everything for you. So if you are in this island do not miss to visit Ataraxis and dive with tiger sharks :-)

My stay at Ataraxis was absolutely amazing. The rooms were beautiful, spacious, clean, modern and relaxing. They offered USB ports for charging in the rooms, which was so convenient. The staff really went above and beyond to make our stay the best they could. Naahil especially did such a good job of making our stay memorable and making us feel welcome.
The food was great. I loved every meal, and especially lunch offered an abundance of choice. Whatever we asked for, the cooks made.
When we were there, the spa hadn't been finished unfortunately, but I'd love to come back to see it!

Definitely recommend!

The room was very good, specious clean with a larbe shower and many electric international sockets. The staff was very helpfull, orginized scooters, extra surfing, a toor on the island and every thing according the diving plan. The food though was average, the cook did try but there was not a significant varaiety.

We stayed at their hotel between 28 february to 18 March for our diving holiday that was organized and managed by Innah from Pelagic Divers Fuvahmulah a great guy with a great team

I have only good things to say, rooms are spacious very very clean, beds are good everything is top, there is a roof terrace at the last floor.

The food is very good we had full board included but sometimes we ordered a la carte and I can say they can match any 5* hotel. I think that they have people who worked in resorts so they know their business. You will be spoiled.
We loved the island and people on the island also, they all are really friendly and we felt like home.
Such a holiday and interactions with so many nice people can make your stress go away. I will go there next year for sure again

Don’t think twice, just book your stay here asap! A beautiful place at a gorgeous location with amazing rooms! This is such a great place especially for solo travellers and families! I can’t recommend Ataraxis enough! The staff, the hotel, the service, the rooms, the food, every single minute detail is spot on at this place! The most professional and the best hospitality I’ve ever received in all my trips! I would like to personally thank Farigh and Naahil for ensuring that I felt safe throughout. And of course, manick and his team ensured we were fed so well throughout. I’m a vegetarian but they literally made every single dish we requested for and everything was so yummy! I’m from india and they even made such delicious Indian delicacies for all of us daily! Every single staff at this hotel is an absolute gem and I would go here again in a heartbeat! Everyday was so memorable thanks to the folks at Ataraxis. They’ll arrange scooters, taxis on request and they’ll cater to all your demands. And the rooms are kept so clean everyday! You’ll feel right at home because of their impeccable hospitality. Ataraxis was literally my home away from home and I just wanted to thank you all personally for my pleasant stay! Miss you all and hope all of you are safe and well! Cya soon!

I stayed at Ataraxis for 9 nights back in March.

This place is beautiful! It truly exceeded my expectations and I was very impressed by the level of service and comfort this place offered us during our stay :)

The staff are very pure hearted, sweet and always ready to help. My dietary requirements were met a smile and I’m vey grateful for for such a wonderful staff.

The rooms are big and very comfortable! They are equipped with everything you might need during your stay, laundry service is fast and good as well.

The location of the hotel is excellent! Right next to the beach which offers beautiful sunset.

Special thank you goes to Manik, Nahu and Faru for their great hospitality! See you soon :)

Myself and a friend spent an amazing week at Ataraxis Grand and Spa. The hotel is modern and clean with spacious rooms and only a few minutes away from a gorgeous beach, cafes and shops. There is a stunning rooftop with a beautiful view where you can enjoy the sunset with a delicious mocktail made by Hassan (the mixed berry mojito was a particular favourite of ours).
We were diving for a week with Ricky at Oceanic Nomad Dive centre where we saw incredible reef life including Tiger sharks, and the hotel was great at accommodating our daily dive times for breakfast.
The food was excellent and the staff couldn't have been more helpful especially Manik who looked after us so well at meal time including accomidating for allergies with a smile. Farigh the hotel owner went above and beyond to look after us including organising out flights to Male, local cooking class and surf lessons! We came to Fuvahmulah for the diving but discoved a beautiful haven of local culture and so much more to do there. We really felt at home and looking forward to visiting again! Would highly recommend!
