Poorly trained staff Will be the slow demise of this hotel. I stayed here a couple of nights ago. I was catching an early morning flight and decided that the Westin on the lake would be a great place for my final evening. I pulled in the hotel to see if there was any availability and what I encountered was shocking. I was told that I couldn’t just walk into that hotel and expect to reserve a room. I had to go find a computer and do that online. I asked but I’m a visitor this country I don’t want a smart phone and I don’t like paying for things before I see them. Does that mean I am excluded from this hotel chain now? The young woman behind the counter just looked at me like I was a complete moron and said it’s our policy you have to book online. I said I don’t want to book online I want to talk to a person. Her frustration showed and I just wanted to turn around and walk out. But I was tired and I only was going to be there for nine hours before my flight. She reluctantly asked for my ID and credit card which I gave her. Without saying a word she started tapping away on her computer and I stopped her a couple of minutes in and asked what is it that you’re giving me and how much does it cost?. She said well the only thing we have are a room with a double bed and no lake view. I said OK and how much is that going to be? In a very snarky attitude she said 279 for the room plus the resort fee plus taxes and that point I just stopped her. I asked for my credit card and ID back. I politely told her that I’m gonna go stand off to the side and I’ll be back in 10 minutes. When I return I’ll have a reservation for a king room with a lake view and a total cost of about $200. I stress to her that she could’ve done the exact same thing for me or better. I came back a few minutes later with my reservation code for my king room with a lake view with the $200 price range. It’s all great and wonderful that all these hotels are getting onto these reservation systems. I assume it’s saving them tons of money. But to me it just seems like missed opportunity. That hotel clerk could’ve went online and book me a room through those same people if she cared at all about the The guests and the company she works for. These Frontline workers that are meeting the guest one on one need better training. And they need to understand that they need to remain relevant or they will be replaced with an iPad. I don’t think I will go back to this hotel. It’s not the first time I stayed there but it may be my last.

If you look on Marriott’s website and even some here, there are a lot of mixed reviews on this place. Here’s an honest review from a guy who travels a ton for work (I’m titanium elite with Marriott). I did previously work in hospitality, as well as aquatics facility and resort management…so I’m a bit critical. My $0.02 is that most of the bad reviews have come from missed expectations. Quick rundown of who should or should not book this. Book this resort if — - You want something that isn’t the Vegas strip. - You want a quiet lakeside resort. - You’re good with clean, straightforward rooms. - You want something family friendly. - You want something away from everything. Don’t book this resort if — - You want a casino experience. - You want want class restaurants. - You need to have the newest hottest rooms. - You want shows, entertainment, and endless options. Catch my drift? As far as the actual experience goes, checking in was easy, and they were able to accommodate me three hours prior to check in, and gave me a worthy room upgrade. The room was clean, and they had plenty of toiletries in the room. Staff was nice and always accommodating towards everything, and helped with late checkout when flight plans changed for us. Facility is aging some, and the meat and potatoes of what needs to be solid is solid. There are some cosmetic updates that it could use, otherwise. As far as on-site “things to do.” There are two large pools. One is more family focused, the other is more adults focused. There is towel service, and the top pool has cocktail and food service running when we were there. Tons of chairs, cabanas available for rent, and some umbrellas available. Pool was clean, and right before we jumped in, some kid threw up in it. They had an army of five maintenance guys come out of nowhere to clean it up, shock the water, and have people wait. It was handled well. There are family game areas, and a beach inflatable splash area on-site, too. If this isn’t enough for you, there’s a rental office attached to the hotel that does Polaris Slingshot rentals, paddle boarding, and kayak rentals, among other things. I can only speak to breakfast for the food, but the restaurant was fine. Service was solid, but the food was hit or miss. Some things were great, others were just okay. The main point of feedback for this facility actually is with the lifeguards. They’re incredibly glazed over, and didn’t seem to be trained well. For example, they were letting kids go down the water slide headfirst into a 3.5 ft entry. That’s a spinal injury waiting to happen. Also, another guard left post to go move an umbrella for someone on the deck, instead of calling for one of the four dudes in Westin polos on the deck. Whoever manages these lifeguards needs to watch their facility better than this. All in all, if you book for the right reasons, you’ll love it.

I love the White Tea signature scent throughout the hotel. Very clean rooms and bathrooms, an excellent workout area with lots of equipment, and a wonderful menu with fast service in the restaurant. Walking distance to many of the large casinos on the Strip, e.g. Caesar's, Bellagio, Flamingo, and the restaurant, Margaritaville. I will be returning the next time I visit Las Vegas.

After a long and exhausting trip, we were expecting a pleasant night on a fine hotel. However, they treated us in the worst possible way ever: - on our arrival, even after having a reservation, we were told that they were all out of bedrooms so they gave us the “hospitality room”. Which has NO BED but a sofa that has a pullout bed. - we got to such room, and they didn’t even have the decency to make the bed or anything. It was like arriving to a livingroom. Nice and all but still not a bedroom. - there was not a blanket, pillow or any kind of linens in any of the cabinets to make the bed on our own, so we called the concierge for help. - NO ONE CAME TO HELP US. We had to call 3 times (with 15-20 minutes between one call and the next) and they did not help us with the problems. - after an hour of waiting and insisting, they came to bring us two pillows (kinda old and flat) and a pair of blankets (with ripped corners). They told us that they were busy so they did not even ask us if we needed them to make the bed for us or anything. I think it is important to mention that the pullout sofa bed was stained from God knows what on several places. We had a horrible night on a really uncomfortable squeaky bed. Additionally to the bed and cero service experience, my husband had bought some items from the internet to be sent to the hotel, but, the office where they were kept was closed, no one offered any help, he had lots of trouble finding the place (terrible signaling over the place) and in the end had to get it on his own after walking back and forth from desk to desk in the hotel. After the terrible experience, all they did to compensate was grant us free breakfast.

Have stayed here a few times. The "Bones" of the hotel are great, but it's easy to tell it is in need of some updating. The grounds are beautiful. The negatives start with paying a ridiculous "resort fee" in addition to the price you pay for the room. It would be one thing if you were actually getting something for this......but you aren't. Any hotel has a pool. This one does too, but the hours it is open is crazy. Opens late, closes early. Want to swim in the evening you are out of luck. Has a nice little lagoon. One might think that after paying extra for your "Resort activity fee" you might be able to use and paddle around the Lagoon ? Nope, it's a separate extra cost and only available and open limited days and hours. Shuttle bus to and from the nearby Village with the restaurants ? No such luck. What do you get for the extra Resort Fee ? Basically nothing. Just a way to add on to the cost of the room. We also experienced an unauthorized add on fee charged to our bill that we had to get removed after the fact and after we noticed it on the bill later. PS. Please no cut and paste management replies. Check all the valid concerns people have already written and look at your responses. They are all the same cookie cutter reply. Makes one think no one is really listening or getting the picture and no changes will ever be made

I have stayed at this beautiful resort many times since 2015. This last time was a much different experience. The rooms were not well kept, the shower head was unusable, microwaves have been removed, the hallway smelled of rotten fish, trash all over, elevators were filthy, and the pool was in much needed repair(including a light and electrical floating in the water). The staff was great but by the looks of it very understaffed. I left a survey review and requested a call back which has not happened. Overall the hotel is in need for major cleaning and updates. Their use to be the hidden gem!

So this is my first and probably last time staying in a Westin this property is lacking cleaning as you can tell from the photos. The bathroom sink drain plug was filithy and the tub spout looked as though it was going to fall off. The bathroom door handles were mismatched and the ceiling in my room looked like it had footprints on it. The lobby seating area counter covered with dust, I don’t recall seeing any housekeepers here my whole visit. The food is HIGHLY overpriced $25 for breakfast buffet with no type of resort food credit being given. No microwaves at all on the property as a way to “discourage” outside food. Well I can tell you my whole stay all I seen were people coming in with grocery bags of food as well as Uber Eats, Door dash & Grub hub dropping off food. Some of the staff was nice the two ladies I encountered checking in/out were very helpful everyone else’s was short and rude at best. I guess since I travel a lot from April- July I am used to a certain level of service and I thought it would be the same level that I receive when I stay at their competitors and boy was I wrong. Perhaps COVID is playing a role in not having enough employees to fulfill basic cleaning duties but the lobby is a common area everyone frequents so I would at least think that would be kept up.
