Had a flight cancelled on Allegiant (no surprise). Thought I would treat myself and stay at the Golden Nugget and relax in the pool. Got there at 2 PM. Check in doesn't start til 4 PM. Left my bags and went out on Freemont for a bit. When I returned at 4 PM the line was insane! Took me 50 minutes in line to check in! Finally got to my room. Very clean, but for the price there was no fridge in the room. Went down to the pool. As I entered at 5:25, I was informed the pool closed at 6 PM! This is in August when it's daylight til 8:30! For almost the same price you can stay at Circa across the street. Pool is open til 10 PM and they have an earlier check in. Plus the rooms are even nicer and they do have a fridge. Don't waste your money!

I'm writing this review as I'm standing in a very long line to check-in. I have stayed here at the Nugget many times and checking in has never improved. I don't understand how this hotel does not enter the 21st Century with a mobile check in option for guests. This long line is not a way to greet your guests. I want to add that there is only 3 people checking guests in.

Charged $30 for early check in and when we, two of us, got to the room there were 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels and 1 wash rag, and no liners in the trash cans. Room cleaning is by request only. The mirror in the bathroom needed repainting on the frame which wasn't too big of a deal however the rusted tub was concerning. We did get the $30 early checking fee refunded, but doubt will go back and will not recommend it.

I wouldn't recommend the Golden Nugget to my worst enemy. I had to listen to a dripping sink for my entire visit, even though I asked three times for it to be fixed (and there is a severe drought there-what a waste of water). I asked every day for my room to be made up, but it never got done. I had to ask four times for clean towels. My room was dirty when I checked in. I decided to check out early because the place was such a dump and they actually tried to hit me with an early check out fee, even though they still got the money I had already paid for the room. They also charged a $40 per night "resort fee" and nobody could tell me what it was for. I'll never go there again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!

They offer Fox News but not MSNBC. That's enough for me to not return to this property. Cons: they add an extra number to the roulette wheel; the music on Fremont street is so loud I had to shout to have a conversation with my friends; the line for coffee at Starbucks on the property was 45 minutes each morning. Pros: there were two Starbucks on the property;
